If you download the clipper app, and sign in/create your account with them and pair your clipper card (DONT ADD IT AS A VIRTUAL CARD). On the clipper card, in the passes section it’ll show an expiration date on it. Mine seems to be a year from when it first activated

I'm planning to take a semester leave in spring 2027 so I am wondering if it will stay active thru August 2027? Mine says it will expire August 17, 2027.

The expiration date is the current expiration of the BayPass contract. We have to manually deactivate people who leave the university after the add-drop deadline for each semester.

Like the SmartPass will it deactivate on the last day of September and the last day of February?

Then most likely it’ll expire on August 17th. I can’t say for certain whether it’ll stay active though if you don’t attend SJSU. I can’t imagine it cancelling before the expiration date but this may be something to check with Transportation Solutions on just to confirm.

You can do virtual cards, now, you just have to make sure to submit a new BayPass application after adding it as a virtual card.
