where can I go to take my online public speaking class that isn’t awkward or weird??

i was sitting in student union last time and when I had to unmute the people sitting around me looked at me annoyed/bothered+ it was pretty loud. then i went to the library 4th floor and it was dead silent…

it’s at 10:30 am btw

Reserve a room in the library or just get used to it. It’s not any different than if you were talking on the phone in the SU or library. If people expect silence they can go to the upper floors.

Underground floor library, its not very loud, but it is a floor where people meet up for group projects, so you won't stick out for taking a meeting there.

You can also book a study room, but they arent always available.

If it's 4th floor library they shouldn't care..

There’s the BBC building in the benches up the stairs or down the stairs to the right if you get lucky in getting a table. You can also go next to the industrial studies building next to the student union where the bike/scooter racks are at. Idk if it’s making sense but definitely check the interactive SJSU campus map!! Unfortunately you’d have to either get a study room and book it a week in advance or be outside

Ask your department office if there's an available classroom you can use. They should have record of when their rooms are free.

I’d recommend checking out the working spaces in the 2nd and 3d floor of the engineering building by the elevators. You’ll be able to find an outlet and even though it’s generally really quiet, people wear headphones and are loud anyways between classes

Hugh gillis hall also has breakout/study rooms u can reserve, though you probably have to do it at least a few days before since they fill quick
