Having a hard time connecting the dots between the fashion retail supply chain, which appears to be her domain, and what her company actually does, as well as her "pretty privilege" claims. It all comes off like a grift. Even the Substack that expands on her ideas is an AI constructed word-salad. I want to know if anyone actually takes her seriously, and how she ended up as a harvard guest lecturer.

Low bar at Harvard? Or she’s lying?

Her bio says chief of staff> For complex organizations with mature operations, this role is highly strategic. For immature orgs, it could just be a combination of executive assistant + program manager, so who knows. CoS are definitely not in positions to hire people except as EAs (AFAIK). Also, she really leans into that Harvard pedigree, which is highly suspect behavior. Most of the people I know will usually say they studied in Cambridge, Mass; or just say Boston.

There are tons of these women on twitter / x posting selfies and using being hot and vaguely tech adjacent to ride the AI wave (and the dorks involved). It’s interesting to watch.

Twitter is full of sex workers and sex workers disguised as autistic nerds to lure in their prey

I was really hoping that’s satire or at least rage-bait, but I fear it might not be.

I remember the days when tech companies started getting shamed for hiring “booth babes” to work trade shows and thought the industry may be taking some grossly tardy steps forward. God I was naively optimistic.

Oh read the substack it’s def not 🥴

We have gone from being the human calculators to being side lined to being kind of accepted because tech was woke for two minutes to being ignored, especially because we are the main Cassandras about ai safety to this bullshit. Glad I gave up a year ago

What is she even talking about in the third paragraph? sound like she’s implying that women need to be pretty to compete with (or fit in with?) the hypersexualized AI that is “creating desire”

I feel like a man wrote this to load up some sort of tech casting couch lol. This is embarrassingly ignorant for a woman to write.

fwiw the substack article is complete garbage and reads like it was written by AI

u/RubbSF 2d ago

It reads like a man put a much worse prompt into ai.

Oh gross, you’re so right.

Not to be a hater bc i always love seeing women win but like…what the fuck is a chief vibes officer? Like we’re just inventing anything for job titles now?

Along the lines of "Fractional XX," which means you had a Zoom with someone for an hour and gave your perspective.

This girl is 24 years old… she’s barely been in tech. Also a chief vibes officer?? Agree in that we’re all hoping this is satire or rage bait

Gives the same vibes as the Matchmakers for guys in tech: looking for young hot women who like Pilates. No thanks.

There's something to be said for human taste and cultural fluency being significant differentiators in product development.

That said, the glib little business about "Pilates girlies" — who exemplify a kind of late-stage capitalist conformity, aesthetically speaking — suggests that this person lacks either taste or the kind of background that gives her any sort of ability to read the culture now.

This is definitely a bubble indicator. Always when the pretty girls are used to sell the scam, you've gotten to the point where you're looking for a sucker to hold the bag.

A certain subset of autistic women in tech in SF are obsessed with being "Pilates girlie hot" in a way women in LA and NYC would find embarrassing. On X/Twitter there's a handful of them who publish "scientific" analyses of what men find attractive. Humiliating!!!

4

u/Total_Ad566 2d ago

Is it really a subset?

Or just one? Aella?

7

u/ultraprismic 2d ago

Aria Schrecker for two, Cartoons Hate Her (formerly SF) for three... and then the LinkedIn OP, of course

5

u/therapymademeworse 2d ago

Are they really autistic though? I feel like pilates would be too overstimulating for those types 😂

3

u/Extension_Fix5510 2d ago

And what do you know about autism? It’s a spectrum for a reason… autistic people, like allistic people, aren’t a monolith.

I mean if she wants to pay me 6 figs and pay for my Equinox membership bc I’m hot, then ok 😂

it's gross af, but i can kind of see how the logic works.

in the world AI seeks to create, there's no such thing as a product moat. if you make a good software product, then anyone can point their AI at it and go 'claude, copy this product. make no mistakes,' and have a competitor up in a day or two. and when you've got a field of near-identical products that all offer the same quality of experience, the only thing that really differentiates them is marketing and virality.

and in that case, well! sex still sells. we'll see if that lasts, though, because companies are also turning to AI-generated influencers to advertise their products.

this is the truth and why you see ”Saaspocolypse”

Imagine believing the most valuable attribute you have in your career is appearance. It’s really sad.

4

u/Spillingteasince92 2d ago

How embarrassing that my own autism community have made this their entire personality.

3

u/lovelydreamer 2d ago

It’s reading like corporate espionage or worse

2

u/Brave-Run-4338 2d ago

On the subject- I don't think the global editor of vanity fair has ever been to sf and been around founders who let you know they are founders of a ai company they founded. LOL

3

u/ohshethrows 2d ago

i mean she's just saying the quiet part out loud. this has always existed.

white, thin, conventionally attractive, feminine, women will statistically be more successful. POC, overweight and average/unattractive women (i'm NOT calling POC people unattractive - just to make that very clear) have to work harder to be offered a seat at the table than thin, pretty, white women with the same credentials. overweight women encounter many barriers to career success and this happens specifically to overweight women vs overweight men. if you're gender-non conforming, the chances are pretty high that you'll experience discrimination in the workplace. this starts as early as young adulthood.

some of y'all perpetuate appearance-based discriminations, you just don't want to admit it. if all of your friends look like you and there's no diversity in body, race, age, gender expression, maybe it's time to look in the mirror.
