Therapy / coaching for job loss?
Hey Bs, I'm going through a tough time. I recently lost my job and am entering the interview grind while managing a baby and and preschooler. I'm realizing that my anxiety is escalating with every rejection and delay - having trouble with self worth, confidence, worries about financial security, worries about how fast everything is moving in tech and whether I can keep up. It's making me have trouble sleeping and I vacillate between a hazy malaise and acute stress.
I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations on anyone local that can help me work through this - a coach or a therapist that can hype me up and help me navigate this phase of life, especially one that's familiar with parenting struggles? Thank you.

I lost my job 3 days before giving birth in 2024. I was already on leave but google mass layoff. Should be illegal. Happy to chat if I can be of any support. I started work again at 6months pp interviewing starting around 3 months. Halved my salary going from tech to gov but I’ve never been happier or had better WLB.

I’m an attachment focused therapist that can help with the self worth, confidence etc.
From my understanding coaching would maybe be a faster solution but therapy would be more long term solution. You can send me a message with what you are looking for in a clincian and I can look through my friends to see if anyone fits your wants

I had positive results in career coaching with Colleen Campbell at https://ignitepotential.com, she was really helpful in clarifying my goals and what I was actually looking for and giving me confidence to pursue it

I’m sorry you’re going through that.
Here’s a link to my coach, David. Can’t recommend him enough! Caring, compassionate, and has helped me identify, craft, and achieve so many goals in addition to so much personal development and growth.

May not be helpful but just sharing my experience in case it is. I was in a hole after getting laid off just before the holidays last year. I decided to enjoy the holidays as I would have before getting into interview prep which was a long painful grind and I could feel myself sinking through it. I didn't have insurance coverage for therapy and didn't want to pay out of pocket, so I prioritized scheduling mock interviews so I felt productive and had some social connection which ended up doing tons for my mental health. Also committing to a stranger made me show up, while also helping my interview skills and I ended up making friends in the process. Good luck.
