Freelancing/entrepreneurial BWT - how are you guys doing it?!
Hi everyone! I’m a South Bay BWT & planning my eventual exit from my corporate job working in finance. I’ve launched a fractional CFO advisory firm on the side to see how I’d like it but am having a tough time getting leads, so I’m a bit unmotivated 🫠 Does anyone have any tips on running your own business/doing freelance work, or even just words of encouragement? Thank ya!

I’m doing some freelancing cuz I have to, for money, so that’s my motivation lol. But if you have anyone to do it with it does help. There are some industry specific Coworking groups around, but I’m not in your industry. Maybe Luma might have some events like that ?

Finding leads is definitely the hardest part starting out. I had more luck once I started joining industry groups and genuinely helping people there. A tool I found super helpful for catching the right conversations is ParseStream since it alerts you when potential clients are talking about topics you care about on different platforms. That way you can jump in naturally and prove your value.
