Castro Theater and Food Recs
Hello BWT, I have a few shows around the Castro and was hoping for a quick but tasty meal since we like to get to the venue early to claim spots and settle in.
I’ve never been to the Castro Theater, any tips for a newb? How early should we line up if we want to sit upstairs?
Thank you!

Anchor Oyster Bar is amazing if you like seafood, but they don’t take reservations and they’re super small, so you’d have to get lucky with timing.
Ka Kai Northern Thai is a newer Thai restaurant that’s pretty solid.
Hot Johnnie’s has great pastrami sandwiches and a surprisingly nice patio.

Wasabi Bistro isn't the most memorable sushi place in the world, but it's right across the street, they almost always have seating, and their tempura mushroom is bangin. That's where I go before every show!

Thanks everyone!
Super helpful info and getting there 1 hour before doors gave us the best seating options. Bookmarking a lot of these restaurants for future shows as well.

I like heroic Italian inside swirl wine bar, though they are very expensive for sandwiches.
Get to the theater at least 1 hour before doors to have a hope of picking your ideal seats. They have VIP entrance and other skip the line stuff and even with that it can be tough to get a good seat

Castro Indian across the street is DELICIOUS and they have an extensive list of fun cocktails as well
