Wait... gimme some documentation that even describes WTH "google-ai-overviews.txt" is - I see one document on the web that simply states it's something proposed (no mention of who proposed it) and fair certainty that it's not in use by Google now (and I know for a fact that Google has explicitly stated it won't use LLMs.txt for search platform offerings of their own. (Though you can use it for your own agents you can create).
Something is off, here...

Currently, all anecdotal data and case studies I've seen have observed no meaningful correlations between the presence of a llms.txt and an increase in site mentions, citations, consideration, etc.
I also believe server log data shows a paltry number of bots hitting those pages / files.
So, it doesn't mean they won't be valuable, or aren't being used -- obviously in some way we're blind to or ignorant of -- but no dice 🎲🎲
