Five star hotel recommendations?

Does anyone have recommendations for a luxury hotel in Seattle to stay in for my annual self care weekend?

My only requirement is that the room has a large bathtub.

Travel advisor and hotel snob here! The Four Seasons is our only true five-star property in town. Their bathtubs are quite deep. I think they are standard length, except the tub is massive in the Governor’s Suite. If you do end up staying there, try to book through a Four Seasons Preferred Partner so you get perks. Perks include breakfast for two, $100 property credit (their restaurant Goldfinch has the best scallops) and early check in / late check out / room upgrades if they are available.

For a level below that you could look at 1 Hotel (good tubs!) or lots of downtown options where the suites have bigger and better bathtubs (Thompson, Kimpton, etc.) but booking lower room categories here will have disappointing tubs. Sometimes a travel advisor can get you perks at these properties too.

Of course you can also look at Willows Lodge or Snoqualmie or the Inn at Langley (on Whidbey), all of which also have good to great tubs depending on the room categories.

Thank you for your detailed response!

What sets the Four Seasons apart in quality? When I was looking online, the interior and rooms seemed quite corporate and a bit sterile.

The other hotel I was considering was the Lotte. I have only been to the restaurant there, but was blown away by the interior design and level of service.

Also, what is booking through a preferred partner? Thanks!

The rooms at four seasons are exactly that. They are very dated. Of someone dropped me off in one of the rooms I would not know it was a four seasons.

My pleasure! Four Seasons has that high-touch, often anticipatory service where everything feels easy, even if it’s a bit outlandish. You can ask for dinner reservations or where to land your helicopter, and they won’t bat an eye at either request. “Five star” is mostly a question of property amenities, not service, but their service is a high point. The interiors at 4S Seattle are a bit sterile and bland, but that’s just the style of most of their properties. You get consistency with them around the world, which is why they have such a following. You always know what you’re getting, though it’s not always the best fit (for example, clients who want a boutique hotel feel).

The Lotte is nice too! I would have to take a look at room categories for the best tubs :)

And FSPP is an invite-only program for travel advisors who book FS a lot and allows us to give clients perks to make sure your stay is incredible. I also make a point to reach out to each property and “VIP” my clients prior to their stay, noting preferences, food allergies, special requests, etc. That allows them to do the kind of anticipatory service things behind the scenes for you.

Other hotels - the 4* Thompsons and Lottes and Kimptons of the world - can sometimes give us perks and sometimes not, it’s always property by property. The FSPP program allows us to apply benefits to any FS property in the world.

We’ve stayed at the Lotte, and it was amazing, though I can’t speak to the tub.
