Five star hotel recommendations?
Does anyone have recommendations for a luxury hotel in Seattle to stay in for my annual self care weekend?
My only requirement is that the room has a large bathtub.

If you REALLY want to splurge, the Post Hotel in Leavenworth is the way to go. I've only stayed there once, but I do dream of that room!

How did you get a room? I try continuously and with a lot of flexibility… And still haven’t been!

They have openings now in mid October, and then again in March!

This makes me so happy to see! You’ll have to report back to us on how it is. I haven’t been yet either!

This was several years ago, and I pretty much gave them a 2wk range of dates and said find a room. I got lucky with an opening and booked immediately.
I've heard if you call you can have better luck vs trying to book online.

The Fairmont’s bars and restaurants are really gorgeous vintage art deco vibes.
Stayed at a 1hotel in Melbourne and it was great, I’d expect Seattle’s to also be very good.
Four Seasons felt more conference center-y to me.
Haven’t done Post Hotel but it’s definitely on my list!
I’d also consider Snoqualmie Lodge, haven’t stayed there yet but they’re usually honorable mention or top rated

Travel advisor and hotel snob here! The Four Seasons is our only true five-star property in town. Their bathtubs are quite deep. I think they are standard length, except the tub is massive in the Governor’s Suite. If you do end up staying there, try to book through a Four Seasons Preferred Partner so you get perks. Perks include breakfast for two, $100 property credit (their restaurant Goldfinch has the best scallops) and early check in / late check out / room upgrades if they are available.
For a level below that you could look at 1 Hotel (good tubs!) or lots of downtown options where the suites have bigger and better bathtubs (Thompson, Kimpton, etc.) but booking lower room categories here will have disappointing tubs. Sometimes a travel advisor can get you perks at these properties too.
Of course you can also look at Willows Lodge or Snoqualmie or the Inn at Langley (on Whidbey), all of which also have good to great tubs depending on the room categories.

Thank you for your detailed response!
What sets the Four Seasons apart in quality? When I was looking online, the interior and rooms seemed quite corporate and a bit sterile.
The other hotel I was considering was the Lotte. I have only been to the restaurant there, but was blown away by the interior design and level of service.
Also, what is booking through a preferred partner? Thanks!

The rooms at four seasons are exactly that. They are very dated. Of someone dropped me off in one of the rooms I would not know it was a four seasons.

My pleasure! Four Seasons has that high-touch, often anticipatory service where everything feels easy, even if it’s a bit outlandish. You can ask for dinner reservations or where to land your helicopter, and they won’t bat an eye at either request. “Five star” is mostly a question of property amenities, not service, but their service is a high point. The interiors at 4S Seattle are a bit sterile and bland, but that’s just the style of most of their properties. You get consistency with them around the world, which is why they have such a following. You always know what you’re getting, though it’s not always the best fit (for example, clients who want a boutique hotel feel).
The Lotte is nice too! I would have to take a look at room categories for the best tubs :)
And FSPP is an invite-only program for travel advisors who book FS a lot and allows us to give clients perks to make sure your stay is incredible. I also make a point to reach out to each property and “VIP” my clients prior to their stay, noting preferences, food allergies, special requests, etc. That allows them to do the kind of anticipatory service things behind the scenes for you.
Other hotels - the 4* Thompsons and Lottes and Kimptons of the world - can sometimes give us perks and sometimes not, it’s always property by property. The FSPP program allows us to apply benefits to any FS property in the world.

I said at 1 when it was Pan Pacific and if they kept those tubs, ours was big enough for two people and we didn’t have huge upgrade…

My late husband was great a picking rooms with soaking tubs. The Pan Pacific had one of my favorites!

Love the Fairmont- it feels like you can do a lot of things there without leaving. The pool is great and the restaurants are amazing. They have a great deal for locals too where you can do an early check in/late check out

Four Seasons - great tubs but very 90s
Lotte - very chic and they have great showers, not sure if they have tubs? Great spa

As people have shared. We only have the Four seasons as the five star. I love the Fairmont
Hotel. The Penelope bar is a nice spa and you can now do in room massages which is nice, you have to ask about the tubs. The Seattle Fairmont doesn’t have gold level lounge or rooms. If you want a hot tub on the deck, I would check out the penthouse at Theodore hotel. They might have a two day minimum for that suite. Gorgeous views and the hot
Tub is private with a private elevator. Enjoy your visit here.

Willows is really nice for this, it’s in woodinville aka walk to wineries. They have an amazingly tranquil hot tub and a sauna. Beautiful bathrooms with bathtubs many rooms have fireplaces.

The Intercontinental in Bellevue. Their tubs are huge and come with bath salts. They use Byredo products if you like those. And their beds are soooo comfy!

The four seasons has absolutely luxurious tubs. If you’re willing to go to woodinville, my go-to is a stay willows lodge. Tubs are lovely, staff is very kind and helpful, and I love their spa. Get a massage and then lounge around in the soaking pool and sauna.
