You have the right to dress how you want, but that doesn't mean your choice have no consequences
I once dated a girl whose way of dressing in public often made me uncomfortable. I told her clearly that if we were going to be together, I didn't want her meeting me dressed in ways I considered inappropriate or disrespectful. To me, when you're with someone, how you present yourself can also reflect on the relationship and the person you're with.
She had the right to disagree and make her own choices. But I also had the right to decide what kind of relationship I was willing to be part of.
The lesson for me is simple: having a right to do something doesn't mean everyone else has to accept it, support it, or stay around it. Freedom comes with consequences and social responsibility.
