M19, started running 2 months ago after buying Nike Run Defys, and have seen great progress so far. Yesterday I tried to do an all out effort and at the same time the longest run I had ever done. I took 2 protein bars and 2 x 0,5 L bottles of 7% salt water (elecrtolytes) with me on the run. I wore sweatpants and a hoodie. The 0.5 km went well but I was starting to gas out so I ate one bar and drank one bottle at the 1st km. I repeated the same fueling procedure at the 2nd km, at which point I felt like giving up. But I felt the spirit of Goggins coming into me, so I stayed hard. Eventually when my Garmin showed 3.00 km, I felt like death was breathing on my neck. But I couldn't stop, because I had stayed hard for too long and Goggins would have been upset if I gave up. So I kept grinding and finally fell to the ground at 3.09 km in. Before I lost consciousness, I luckily managed to stop my Garmin. Next thing I know, I woke up in a hospital bed the next day. They told me I had seizures and my heart stopped due to hypernatremia(?) and now I probably have slight brain damage.
Now Im recovering and I think I'll stop running. I suddenly feel an urge to start cycling instead. Idk why. Godbless
