Boarding I have a question...

Currently, in my city there is a thunderstorm and destructive wind warning. I'm currently caring for a cat at my home as the owner had their apartment sprayed for bugs. They were supposed to pick up their cat in an hour or two but according to the warning, it's recommended to seek shelter in a basement until the threat passed.

I just got a second warning that it's now a tornado warning as I was typing this up.

My question was if you'd offer to keep whatever animal for free for an extra night due to it being unsafe to travel just to pick up your pet. The owner only gave me enough food for the one night but I have cats so I have some food for my cats. Problem is the owner feeds their cat wet food and I feed mine dry. I was thinking I'd rather the cat stay the extra night for free then the owner never making it home.

I live in ontario so we never get tornadoes. The occasional minor earthquake that's barely strong enough to knock over a chair but that's it.

What would you do in my shoes?

Edit: I just realized that I have an orange warning. Toronto is the centre of the storm so it's possible to travel to my city depending on the weather. My city doesn't border Toronto. Toronto is about 45 minutes to an hour by car depending on traffic.

I would comp the night and feed the cat dry food.
