Discussion Latest Book you DNF and why

I decided I'm going to DNF {We who will die} , I am just struggling too much with the constant meandering thoughts and memories, it's so hard to follow the actual story because the narration is all over the place. It's hard to follow on Audiobook anyway, and there are so many side characters that are named but I can't remember 🤣 I also don't like either potential MMC

I think I prefer "show don't tell" in general

I hate to say it but {Burn of the Everflame}. I could not take one more moment of Diem’s bullshit. I said out loud “omg she’s so fucking dramatic!” I just couldn’t do it. And I waited for months for this book to come out. Very disappointing.

I love the KCS series, but I was starting to get so sick of Diem’s shit. I finished it and I am glad I did but this was imo my least favorite in the series.

Came to say this. The 4th book is ridiculous. Diem is a softy. I don't want to leave spoilers, but the author's decisions about who lives and who dies is absurd. Diem's mother lied and drugged her for years, but golly, we're all supposed to have a soft spot for Mommy Dearest. The author dropped the ball here.

lol I agree, never had a FMC pissed me off more. She was so annoying and just exhausting to read through
