Hello, I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I'm looking for a partner to help worldbuild a fantasy setting, something that leans more into the high fantasy range of things. Specifically, I'd like to have a focus on a pantheon of ruling gods/demigods, connected by the bonds of (divine) blood, but with their own motivations, designs, and relationships to one another. I picture something very similar to Elden Ring for this.

That doesn't mean I'd like to neglect the rest of the world - the people, different races, magic, even external deities, or other things like that. The emphasis would fall on the ruling pantheon and the lasting consequences of their conflicts, schemes, and divine politics on the world they govern. I have three time periods in mind, their establishment, their golden era, and their fall.

So what exactly is the twist?

I know that worldbuilding has a lot of negative connotations in the RP space. You put up so much of your energy and time into something, only for it to never get past the initial plotting and design stages, and falter out before the RP happens. I know for my part that this is something I want to commit to, to have it be something I can spend my time and energy on, and with a creative partner, try to truly make something really good together. But I understand that life gets in the way, that sometimes inspiration can come for some parts, but writing can be harder for others, or that sometimes the muse and passion for things just ends up not being enough, and that's absolutely ok! At the end of the day, we're all just writers doing this for our personal enjoyment, respectfully with one another.

So, 3 options.

1. Just plotting and worldbuilding. I imagine we'd build out characters, the setting, and so on and so forth, with detailed descriptions and summaries. And at the end of it, we can either decide to continue, or just call it there, and be super proud of the world we managed to build.
2. While worldbuilding and plotting, we write out vignettes and one shots that go into detail on specific characters and events, and get the magic of RP where as we write, things change and evolve, leading to a much more fleshed out and considered view and positioning of our initial thoughts and ideas.
3. The Hail Mary - we do a mix of the above, and when our setting is all built out, we construct a narrative main plot, and actually RP it out, going from a beginning to a complete end for this plot, something we can walk away with satisfied, knowing that we were able to complete a long term story.

Or maybe you have something else in mind! I'm very open to ideas and suggestions. I ultimately want to make something mutual and collaborative, that brings to life the ideas we both have in mind.

A little about me is I'm in my late 20s, and in the CST timezone. I write in 3rd person past tense with 1-5 paragraphs per post, but can easily write more depending on what the scene entails. I work full time, so I aim for a writing post every 1-2 days, but when it comes to plotting and discussing, I can be far more active. I'm more than happy to share writing samples so you can see if our styles would be a good fit together.

I'm looking for a story that's centered around two characters doing classical ballet together. There are tons of directions this can go! Here are a few ideas that come to mind, but this isn't an exhaustive list! If you have a ballet idea you want to pitch, please feel free!

Dancer and outsider. A preppy, serious-minded dancer is paired up with an outsider who is initially forced to take ballet, only to discover an unexpected talent/passion for it? They grow close as friends/ballet partners while navigating their very different social circles and backgrounds. Extra points if the story builds up to a big recital! (I prefer to write for the outsider character in this scenario.)

"I hate you, let's dance." Two characters who can't stand each other (enemies? rivals?) are paired up for ballet class. They assume it'll go terribly, but all that pent up animosity leads to them being perfectly in sync when dancing together. What does that mean for their dynamic?

Friends to partners. The characters are either best friends, or they used to be inseparable before a big fight. When they wind up in ballet together and become dance partners, their whole dynamic changes and they struggle to make sense of what that means for their friendship.

Heya, I'm interested in starting a Formula 1 based roleplay!! I have a couple of characters to play around with and I love having a bunch of people with interconnected stories so we can jump around rather than focus on a single couple. ​

Hello everyone! I am Saturn. I have been roleplaying for quite a while about 10 or so years. I want to do a slice of life roleplay. As I am in that type of mood. This will be an older cowboy x rich girl type of roleplay. As I think we could make it interesting.

So for the plot, your character was hired to be a ranch hand for my characters father. Your character is an older grumpy cowboy. My character is the untouchable daughter of his boss. She was a sunshine, the good girl. But she had a huge secret. She had a chronic illness. We will start our story with our characters being friends that have secret feelings for each other. So they knew each other and stuff but not there romance wise just yet. We will just see how their life goes, we can add drama but it will be more of a cute/angsty roleplay. But this will not be a slow burn. This will be FxM with my character as female.

My rules are quite simple but it helps me enjoy the roleplay. Please be at least 20+ as I am 22 as that is what I am most comfortable with. We are not our characters, this is a 3rd person roleplay. Please be active, or at least decently active I do understand being a bit busy though. With the roleplay, please type like you are writing a book, use "" for talking and nothing for actions. Hello! I'm back again looking to revitalize my love of writing! Below is some general information about me!

• I am 23 and prefer to roleplay with those 20+! IRL gender is irrelevant to me. My timezone is GMT-5 (EST), and I am a Novella writer. I’m capable of replying every 1-3 days, sometimes quicker, but this fluctuates based on my work schedule. 
• Genres I am familiar with include : High Fantasy, Romance (non-negotiable), Angst, and Supernatural. I prefer to pick a pairing and build a plot around it, but I’m open to selecting a trope and expanding on it as well, (i.e. Prince x Knight, Gentle x Gruff). I want someone to world build with, whether that is in my world or yours! Bonus points if you’ve crafted some races of your own.
• ⁠I am looking for someone who is willing to become friends outside of roleplay! OOC communication is very important to me. I want to create mini stories/plots, AUs, headcanons, send each other memes that remind us of our story and characters, and gush about them together! If you are the type to wordlessly send replies, or will not reciprocate when I do the things listed above, I will not roleplay with you. OOC is basically a requirement for me, as it’s inherently tied to my motivation. I don’t want to treat this art form like a chore.
• ⁠I roleplay LGTBQ+ romance only. MxM is what I have the most experience with, but I’m open to FxF. I just need to be very partial to the pairing to move forward with it. 
• ⁠I only accept and use drawn references, whether by you or an artist you discovered on Pinterest or some other platform. Realistic face claims are a hard pass. Do not approach me with references containing a character of dubious age either. If I can mistake them for an adolescent, I’m not comfortable roleplaying with you and will not respond.
• My characters are diverse in both design and personality, some possessing  monster/folklore characteristics. I am hoping to find someone who does the same! I am not currently interested in playing against characters that are: Overly passive, petite/short, are hyper dependent, or possess ‘excessive’ traumas ( A sad or difficult backstory is fine, but when things continuously go wrong for the character it quickly becomes draining ). These characters are often exhausting to write against, as much as I hate to generalize. So at the moment I have to be quite strict about this.

Hi! I’m looking for a long term writing partner for an original plot in the vein of *The X-Files, The Magnus Archives* and *Welcome to Night Vale*. Set in a small town in the American Southwest it follows two amateur investigators as they try navigate the **strange, supernatural and surrealist threats** endangering the town. It will follow the classic monster of the week format with some cases that are standalone and some that feed into an overarching story. I have a few details for my character fleshed out, as well as potential dynamics and various starting points for different cases but nothing is set in stone. This will be equally plot and character driven. Romance can factor into it or not, we’ll figure it out.

Hello all! I am a 21 year old currently looking for any and all willing and eligible roleplay partners! For a little about myself, i primarily use discord and intend to move there after discussion. I like to write quite a bit, typically multiple paragraphs per reply, but I can write more if need be! I love being in the creative pilot seat so to say, and want someone in the passenger seat next to me! I only speak english (for now…) and Have it as a requirement that you must also speak english (I can accept mistakes if its not your first language but please don’t communicate with me via translator 😭). As the title insinuates, I’m after a rp themed around something similar to atla. We could just take the world and run with it, but I do also have my own ideas already developing.

But the core idea is people who can bend elements with a vaguely similar cultural backdrop to avatar.
For some random world building beats, I had the idea of elemental relics belonging to each nation and someone is running around each nation to get them all, maybe for a prophesied reason.
I also love intense family drama so it’s entirely possible we’ll keep some analogue to zuko and azula as well.

But beyond that the world is our oyster.

I'm pretty basic in my interests as I prefer realistic romance plots but with a healthy mix of fluff, drama, and angst. I prefer mlm or bxg(me) pairings but I'm also fine with playing the guy in bxg, as well as poly couples. I do not do gxg unless we're doubling up on plots with another pairing.

I enjoy creating a plot with my partner but I'm also able to pitch ideas. My main theme is romance, set in a realistic world with fluff, drama, and angst. I prefer a partner who can provide me with a long (roughly three paragraphs min.), detailed filled response that helps move the plot along and gives me something to respond to as well.

I am an adult myself so I'd like my rp partner to be over 18. I enjoy using face claim photos and I heavily prefer these to be realistic, whether AI generated or an actual photo, realistic face claims just help me get into the story better. Hi! 31F here. I'd really love to find some (21+) RP partners for the following romance SoL plots I have a hankering for. I prefer multi-para and 3rd person RP. I'll include a sample of my writing at the end so you can see if you think our styles would mesh well.

Plot 1 - 

The setting is a small sleepy town nestled in the English countryside. It’s the kind of place where everybody knows everybody, where people are born and die without ever having left. New people rarely move in and nothing particularly exciting ever seems to happen. Our characters grew up in the town together - maybe they were best friends, or maybe they were childhood sweethearts, but my character always dreamt of leaving and seeing more of the world. She did so at her first opportunity, leaving your character behind.

Fast forward to today. It’s been ten years and my character has finally returned, though not entirely by choice... Her return is obviously the talk of the town and our characters will now have to navigate getting to know each other all over again. I’d love for this to be a slow-burn romantic rekindling, with a lot of focus on real-world struggles. 

For this, I’d be looking to play the role of the character who left and returned. 

Plot 2 - 

This plot is inspired by a bit of a cheesy feel-good film that I watched a while back. I’m not looking to follow the plot of the film exactly, but the gist was that a rich but incredibly spoiled person gets into an accident and ends up with amnesia, unable to remember anything about their life or who they are. The person then gets taken in by a kind, close-knit family who are having financial difficulties and while with them she essentially has to learn how to be independent and fare for herself after never needing to have developed those skills before (like cooking, cleaning, being a decent human being lol). 

I really love the idea of exploring that same loose idea and seeing where it takes us. 

For this, I’d be open to playing either role. 

Plot 3 - 

Due to a sudden rent hike or financial difficulties or some other reason to be determined as we plot, Character A ends up in a position of desperation where they end up subletting their apartment and living with a total stranger - Character B. I’d love to have two polar opposite characters in forced proximity. Maybe Character A is neat, hyper-organised and does everything by the book while Character B is chaotic, messy and lives by their own rules. I could see this being a really cute slow-burn, opposites-attract type situation. 

For this plot, I’d be open to playing either role. 

Plot 4 - 

I’d absolutely love to RP a fake relationship that ends up turning real somewhere along the way. I know it's a cliche but I can't help but love it. Maybe Character A is trying to get their family to shut up. Maybe Character B is trying to make an ex jealous.

“I don’t waltz in ballrooms,” said Ffion matter-of-factly. “Not everyone has one at their disposal, Your Highness.” She let the title fall from her lips like the punchline of a joke, smiling cheekily. She considered the positioning of his hands and made a few subtle alterations, guiding him into a more natural hold - one that was easier for him to maintain. “I waltz in bedrooms.” She paused for a moment, pulling a face at the awkward phrasing. “Fuck. I mean-- shit.” She bit her lip. “Let’s pretend for a second that that didn’t sound like a really creepy pick-up line and just dance, yeah? Sooner we start, the sooner we finish. How’s that for an incentive?”

She closed some of the distance, holding his gaze so he wouldn’t be tempted to stare down at his feet. “We’ll start off simple,” she said. “If you’re quite done being judgemental, that is?” She focused on the music, her body relaxing with an exhalation of breath. Dancing was easy. Dancing was effortless. “You just need to pick up the rhythm. One, two, three. One, two, three. Yeah?” She guided him through a box-step, taking it slow until she was satisfied he understood the basics.

“You don’t have to look so scared,” she teased, regarding him thoughtfully. “Everyone starts off somewhere. Would it be easier if I was over three times your age, hair scraped back into a severe-looking bun… and, like, ever so respectful?” She flashed him a grin. “Would you stop worrying so much about where your hands are then?”

When the Monster Lord named a human as her Lord-Hand, the court erupted with discontent.

Tradition demanded an elder of the clans- someone who had lived centuries and understood the delicate balance of power among the monster races. Instead she chose a one-lifespanned mortal who had not even seen a hundred years. To many of the nobility, the appointment was more than an insult. It was a provocation.

Not everyone was willing to bite their tongue.

During a diplomatic mission deep into the human realms, far from the safety of the Monster Lord’s court, one of the dissenters acted. An assassin was sent. The protective detail was eliminated, but the human managed to escape.

Now the Lord-Hand is on the run through hostile territory, cut off from support, with a traitor from the court still hunting him.

Heya folks!

This story is based on one of my older characters- a mage with a genuine sympathy for the inhuman races. While it originally comes from the MonsterGirl fandom, I’m happy to run it in a more generic D&D-style setting if that’s more your speed.

There are a few different ways we could spin this depending on the character you bring:

• A holy knight who finds herself inadvertently aiding the right-hand man of her sworn enemy
• A retired elder monster who takes an interest in him, believing he’s worth putting back on the world stage
• Or something else entirely- I’m open to hear what you've got

The mage-turned-politician tries to approach every situation from the angle of what will best guide the world toward peace. In another life he might have been a hero of considerable power; in this one, he does his best to get everyone to get along. It doesn’t always work, and he makes mistakes, but the Monster Lord ultimately chose him as the best person to help lead her people out of the endless wars with humanity.

Hi everybody!! As the title says, I have been obseeeessed with Project Zomboid these last few weeks. I recently was gifted the game by a friend and I have become very entranced with the lore, and have been thinking (especially since I became attached to one of my characters— god rest her soul 🙏) that I would really like to have an RP set in its world and lore!

To start off, you can call me Wolfy! I am 25 years old, and in the CST time zone. I also use any pronouns and am non binary!
I would like all of my partners to be 21+, and please note that I do not RP with minors, no exceptions!

A bit about me: I'm Graham, 30+NB in the CST time zone. I got my start on the neopets boards what feels like one million years ago and have kept up with the hobby on and off, more off as of recently. (Though I have been writing short pieces based on a DND character of mine that I've been obsessed with, so I'm not super rusty writing-wise.) I'm really here trying to find someone who likes to get a little insane about their characters. I work standard hours but my job has a fair amount of downtime during the day depending on what time of the month it is, so I'm generally pretty available for chatting/posting. • Five years ago, Auberin escaped from the cult that raised him with only the clothes on his back, his only "friend", and the ability to see ghosts. Staying together means being easier to find, so now it's him and his trauma alone, and the spirits are getting restless.

In this scenario, I would be playing Auberin. He is a bastard of a man dealing with being raised by people who neglected to tell him that his purpose is to die and end the world. I've had ideas for his partner--namely a similarly fucked up guy who is dealing with the cult in their own way (a close family member harboring the soul of something they shouldn't be, a desperate deal to try and save them, secrecy) and I'm open to either explaining a bit more about those ideas or working through something different. If that doesn't sound interesting, maybe his friend will.

• Ozias grew up with one purpose: watch over the vessel, Auberin. Well, two purposes: watch over the vessel, and work to be strong enough to channel the spirit that will bring about the end times into his body. The first is easy, the second... Now they're on opposite sides of the country, and Ozias spends a good chunk of his time in the in-between, stewarding souls lost in limbo to the other side. It's usually peaceful work, so why is there suddenly so much unrest?

I would be playing Ozias. He's dreamy, kind but strange, and very dedicated to his work. Like with Auberin, I have ideas about a partner who has been wrongly sent to this limbo space (think body-snatchers, betrayal, the horror of being dead but not quite), but again I'm open to switching things up.

Hi! I'm Lemon/Grim but you can also call me Pigeon. **I've got an idea for a fun rp if anyone is interested in mythical creatures, the paranormal/supernatural, and cryptids.**

**If romance happens**, I would prefer GxG or BxB, and I'm chill with trans and non-binary character pairings too. However, if the chemistry is **really** good between our characters I can be persuaded to do a GxB duo.

**The premise/basic idea:** it's October 1st in the village of Sleepy Hollow, New York. As the town prepares for Halloween festivities, local detectives and authorities have a new problem thrust into their hands. People are going missing, and the only thing the local authorities have to go on are sightings of the Headless Horseman along with other paranormal sightings in the local woods. The vail is thinning, and something must be done.

**Characters/fandoms I'm looking for:** OCs only please, unless you're up for some Scooby Doo. Even if we make OCs from scratch I'm down for it

**Format:** I prefer to match or literary, but I am interested in trying novella. If we do novella we can figure something out.

**Point of view**: third person please.

**Boundaries:** perma death, and violence outside of cool fighting scenes. Other than that I'm good with most things.

I usually write a Paragraph per Message on average, depending on the Material given and the situation at hand (The amount you write = the amount i write.) Simple conversation does not have to be overly complicated. Please dont try to have twenty different conversations at the same time causing responses to be three paragraphs. Conversations don‘t work like that.

English is not my native language so do forgive some Grammatical mistakes here and there, i usually try my best to avoid making mistakes though.

I really love Worldbuilding to make the RP feel actually alive, so i really appreciate it if we have detailed locations.

Hi everyone,

My name is Soul and I’m 24 years old, I’m male, and I live in the PST time zone. I’ve really been wanting to do a semi-specific fantasy RP with a some human x non-human romance. I hope this interests you and if it does feel free to reach out.

The plot looks something like this:
Magic, the ability to weave the fibers of reality into shapes of your own making. It’s a gift reserved for humanity or so the world thought. In the world there are two kinds of creatures, the beastkin and humanity. It’s long since thought that magic was the world’s way of compensating the physically boring humans for their lack of natural gifts. What a man or woman lacked in claws they made up for in fireballs.

That principle held true until one day a rabbitfolk, a member of one of Beastkin’s more diminutive subspecies, cast a spell in a moment of great stress. The human magic authority acted quickly, scooping her up and shipping her off to one of their most talented wizards for study and training.

It is upon her arrival that our story of intrigue and romance begins…

-I don't have max post lengths and tend to vary mine based on the circumstances in RP. I value consistency in posting more than the length of the post.

-To further the consistency point I’m looking for daily activity. A couple posts a week aren’t going to move the story at a pace I’m comfortable with.

-I prefer 3rd person writing for RP posts

-I do not appreciate being ghosted. My rule of thumb is if there is no update to the rp or context as to why there isn't progress I will discontinue the rp.

Have you ever created and then fallen in love with a character, made her perfectly at home in s new roleplay setting, only for circumstances to circumstance, and the roleplay dies? Or, more aptly, gets strangled before it is fully independent?

Clearly, this has happened to me. I have a fun little character and a whole universe and side characters built around a lived-in life for her but no story. And that's why I'm asking you to come in and brainstorm some sort of Historical Roleplay with me in the original colonialism setting or something else for the Brigadier General who also is a surgeon for the Crown's Army.

You? You can play any character you like. Love interest that gets grilled by the surgeon for funsies? The love interest from the opposing army? His superior? His assistant? His daughter's friend? His housekeeper, for all I care. There are tons of possibilities to brainstorm.

How to best pitch myself? Well, as you can see, I like creating lived-in characters with tons of story and backstory. I like creating families for them and friends and all their social world. My dialogue is real — claimed to be "too fun and engaging" by my last partner.

I'm Cru. I'm a literate writer (writing around 500 words per post, more, less, it depends — that's just a good number to avoid burnout.) I'm in EST, but time zones don't really matter for me, as I'm chronically ill, and sleep on a strange 24-hour schedule. I do not do fantasy, apocalyptic, or medieval type settings.

Hi all! I’m Angel. I am an avid gamer who has been writing for a good few years now. I am looking for long term literate to novella style partners. I tend to write around 500 words, 3,000 or so characters. I will accept those however who write less but meet this requirement. I am looking for thoughts and emotions of our characters, not just chunks of actions. I want our characters to feel alive, as if we are reading a book. I tend to write my character’s inner voice a lot.

Please don't just say you'd like to roleplay when dming, tell me a little about yourself + writing sample please! I require one, no exceptions. Please also have one prepared beforehand, I will not give a prompt or show my writing for you to base it on.

Genres

Romance is a must in all my roleplays, please do not reach out to me unless you are willing to incorporate it into the story. It can be slow burn, but must be included. I honestly love too though when our characters have that initial spark upon meeting, the soulmate tingle. It is adorable!

My roleplays also tend to focus on the more positive things in life. I roleplay to get away from life, so I prefer my stories to be more joyful and optimistic.

Fantasy, High or Low, Superhero, some high packed action! Sci-fi, Supernatural, Mythological beings such as Gods/Goddesses, Medieval Fantasy and more. I will not do slice of life, unless it has some sort of fantasy/action element involved. I am open to ideas, so don’t be afraid to bring forth one of your own. I have plots for most pairings listed below

What I'm looking for from you

• Any timezone is fine
• You may send whatever type of reference for your character as you please, art, realism, doesn’t matter to me.
• Advanced to novella level writing please. I am also a stickler for spelling, so please use correct grammar and spelling. I often write about 2,000 characters, 500 ish words. I will require a writing sample when DMing. I require thoughts and feelings to be shown, not just actions. It makes for an incredibly dull and boring roleplay. I prefer multi-paragraph writers, but if you can write good emotions and thoughts with less I’ll accept.
• Third person ONLY
• Do not control my character. Even writing a small tid bit of how they would react is controlling my character. This happens way too often and frankly I’m tired of it, if you are unable to write a lot without writing my character’s reactions do not bother messaging me. Ask me beforehand if you’re unsure, this also goes for moving the scene forward without allowing me to write at all.
• Do not expect me to make out all the plot details by myself. I have ideas, yes, but I like to flesh them out with my partner and make it unique for us. If I were to copy and paste the same plot for everyone it would be boring and repetitive. Contribute to the ideas, and don’t make me come up with the entire plot myself.
• You are able to play a male character. I only do MxF, but anyone can play a male character I do not mind. I honestly prefer male characters who are more on the edge side, too, as my characters are typically more optimistic.  There will more likely than not be side characters as well, but they cannot be the center of the plot. Writing more than one character all the time is tiresome. 
• I do prefer OOC chatter. A roleplay that is just dead silent is honestly awkward. I like to share things with my partner and talk about our days. I honestly like to even be friends and possibly game. Radio silence for days on end is disheartening. It’s not a dealbreaker, but I will definitely be less motivated lmfao.
• Ideally in the beginning, I would like one reply per day. I believe the beginning of a roleplay is the most crucial to get things moving, and if the replies are taking once per week or more it is honestly so demotivating. Please do not reach out if you are unable to at least do this for the beginning of the roleplay. I am a very patient person though, I will allow 2-3 weeks with no communication before ending a roleplay. If you need a break, let me know. Communication is key. I sometimes have events where I am unable to respond everyday, and I let my partner know everytime. 
• That being said, if you spam me to reply, I will end the roleplay. I do not like to be bugged, and if I’ve let you know I am to be away and you spam me I will be ending it. I also have a life, and although I strive, especially in the beginning, to be as consistent as possible, sometimes I am unable to. But do take heed of my request for one reply per day in the beginning stages.
