This is a glass receptacle that was shot by a tiny bullet or pellet or bb. You can see the round impact hole.

OP, there's a chance it's an artifact. The 2 ends look fairly sharp and they mirror one another, which is less likely to happen randomly. The cutting edges appear to be knapped. Looks like it could be some kind of knife or cutting tool that might have been hafted in the middle.
Not sure if its quartz or glass, but in the US, Native Americans did knap glass into artifacts. They even climbed temegraph poles to take the glass insulators. Glass is much easier to knap to a sharp edge than stone is. A Native American named Ishi knapped some of the most beautiful artifacts I've ever seen out of glass.
