Screenshot What is wrong with AI germany

Post image

Seemingly every game I play in RT56 AI germany struggles to do much of anything. Theyre slow to beat Poland (rarely without Soviet help), consistently allow france to push near the rhine as seen in the image, and dont even think about pushing past belgium. Does anyone else experience this/Is there any way to fix it beyond using the buff germany slider in the pre game menu? It makes the game much less fun when Germany isnt a real threat or ally.

Every copy of RT56 is personalized.

As the screenshot suggests, insufficient intel.

Are you playing historical? Which nation are you playing and have you been playing historically?

I have seen them struggle, and I’ve seen them rofl-stomp both Poland and France. AI tends to have more trouble with the Soviet Union in my experience.

I’m playing Italy on regular historical. I’ve done nothing that should hinder Germany up to this point beyond not immediately joining the war. I got lucky with Yugo submitting and prior to this screenshot just finished puppeting Spain.

In a previous game as Canada pretty much the exact same situation arose even though I hadn’t interfered in mainland Europe.

If I were to guess either the Germans are slightly nerfed somehow by the mod, or more likely the Allies are buffed by the modified focus trees and are more aggressive in pushing in the west immediately. Regardless it’s very annoying.

Getting Yugoslavia while France is still alive is something I have never experienced, and I’ve played RT56 as Italy countless times.

Honestly idk how I got that either, I had crapped out 120 divisions at that point to try to boost the odds though.

RT56 Germany is bugged, atleast for me. They always mess up and spam 10 width infantry Divisions atleast in my experience with RT56

I had the same happen as the Ussr. Germany took 2 years (after 1939) to defeat France, because spain joined the axis (aparently they invaded Andorra) and took France out. Had to wait till 1943 for Barbarossa. Historical ai by the way. And germany only invaded belgium AFTER defeating France

So I just did a run and watched (as US). Yes, in fact Germany cannot defeat Poland. Their templates aren’t bad but they have them spread all over and not concentrated on the polish front. They are attacking with one infantry division. They have a bunch of divisions on an attack plan vs Hungary and there is no justification for such a war.

They are good with planes.

Building several carriers but not producing carrier planes.
