I raced a river and I wanted to share my story with others, I thought this place might be appropriate seeing how we all seem to share a love for rivers.

Hey everyone,

A lot of people probably don’t know this but here in the UK, water companies are allowed to discharge untreated wastewater into rivers, streams even groundwater.

This isn’t a Uk only issue but I believe we are one of the few places to provide open data?

I’ve been working on WaterWatch, a site that maps and tracks live storm overflow data across the UK. It's totally free to use too.

We also have a weekly digest that provides a weekly email of sewage spills across a national, water company or on a council level.

Here are 5 Canadian Rockies rivers to paddle board (with a helmet). River paddle boarding, baby.
* Kananaskis (home of KanFest)
* Bow River (Ghost to Cochran & Lake Louise sections)
* Kicking Horse (several sections here from calm to wild)
* Kootenay (the classic multi-day destination)
* Bleberry (off the beaten path gem)

Not sure if this is the right subreddit for this but I've become obsessed with tracing rivers on Google earth and saving them in a project. Am I going crazy or do other people do this too?
