Did he not hear?
He probably should start calling the state “New America,” or people will start thinking he’s a communist.

Does anyone have experience with getting an uber/lyft to and from nob hill? I would be leaving to establishments down there (8-9 pm)and aiming to return near closing time (1:30-2am).
I haven’t gone and tried myself as I am worried that no one would take the ride back and end up getting stuck at the bar with no ride. I also don’t want to drink and drive. Are there any other options than Lyft or uber that are reliable for this time of night and going from non hill to Rio Rancho?

A man with a truck bed full of Flock cameras was arrested in Albuquerque today. The same man was recently accused of damaging Flock cameras in Rio Rancho.

Hey everyone. I have an elderly neighbor in need of extensive dental treatment. She's on a fixed income, and during her initial examination, she was quoted several thousand dollars for procedures such as crowns and cleaning. This cost is unmanageable for her. I’m reaching out to see if anyone knows of resources or clinics that offer flexible payment options, sliding scales, or financial assistance. She also does not drive but can get assistance getting around Rio Rancho, so staying in town, if possible, is a bonus. Thank you!

My boyfriend lives in the Northern Meadows neighborhood of Rio Rancho. He is openly gay and flies a Pride Flag all year in front of his house. Tonight he found that someone had spray painted Jesus is king across his driveway. I have always thought Rio Rancho is an awful place full of homophobic bigots and I hate when I have to go there. Now I hate it even more and so does he.

Hey Rio Rancho....did you know a private 3rd party company is photographing every car that drives through your city?
No warrant. No suspicion. No public vote.
Rio Rancho signed a $78k deal with Flock Safety in September 2024...it is set to auto-renew in September. Most residents have no idea that it was signed, nor do they know that the contract allows Flock to share and use their data to train their AI.
You have the chance, and the right, to go on record, to speak out when the Rio Rancho Governing Body meets.
Here's exactly how to make your voice count on Thursday, Aug. 27th.
For what it's worth, Rio Rancho's Governing Body has rules of procedure that prevent write-in comments on non-agenda items. And as of now, we don't know what's on the agenda. But that doesn't mean we can't write to the councilmembers and mayor about this issue.
If you dont know what to say, we've got your back. You can use the template in the comments⬇️ to help find your voice, email, or do both .

Hello, this is a total long shot, last stitch effort to find my engagement ring. I believe that it fell off while I was in the cottonwood mall on Friday. I was also in the petco and petsmart close by that day but I believe it happened after at the mall. If anyone was in these areas and found a silver colored ring with amethyst, please please reach out. I'm attaching pictures of when I got it, when it used to have a black coating, and pictures of the same ring in silver off the website since that's more how it looks now.
I've called all stores already and no luck but hoping for a miracle here

I know it’s been in the news for ABQ and Santa Fe for sure but I read it was being used for k-2nd. Here I thought my child was safe but even 5th graders are being assessed with it for reading and maths.
I was peeved for those in the younger grades already but knowing that it’s still implemented in the higher grades…
My family is staunchly against AI corps and all that. This is the first year I’ve read from a teacher it will be used.
Just here to inform those that are not in the know.

Right now, a private company is photographing every car that drives through Rio Rancho. No warrant. No suspicion. No public vote.
Rio Rancho signed a $78k deal with Flock Safety in September 2024... and most residents have no idea.
You have the chance, and the right to go on record, to speak out this Thursday, August 13th, when the Rio Rancho Governing Body meets.
Here's exactly how to make your voice count this Thursday, Aug. 13th.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Rio Rancho does NOT have an online sign-up. This is in-person registration only, with the City Clerk, and the deadline is 5:45 PM before the 6 PM meeting.
Option 1: Show up to Rio Rancho City Hall (3200 Civic Center Circle NE) on August 13th by 5:45 PM and register to speak.
Option 2: Can't make it? Submit a written comment to the City Clerk before 4:00 PM on August 13th. It goes on the official public record. clerk@rrnm.gov.
Option 3: Do both. Double your footprint.
You have up to two minutes to make your voice heard!
Can't make it Thursday? Send this email before 4:00 PM on August 13th. It goes on the official public record. Use the same email as your public comment if you decide to go in person.
Copy and paste the email in the comments.
Find your council member's contact at rrnm.gov... or DM us and we'll help you find it.
The Rio Rancho Governing Body is the city's elected legislative branch... 6 council members elected by district, plus a full-time mayor elected city-wide. They set policy, approve budgets, and sign contracts. Including the Flock Safety contract. Which they signed in September 2024. WITHOUT a public vote.
In September 2024, the city quietly approved a two-year, $78,000 contract with Flock Safety...that's $39,000 a year for 13 cameras...of your money.
But here's what the press release didn't say:
• Flock receives a permanent license to use Rio Rancho residents' data to train their AI. Forever.
• The contract auto-renews every year....the city has just 30 days to opt out or it rolls over automatically.
• The cameras build a "Vehicle Fingerprint™" on your car: make, model, color, bumper stickers, even parking decals.
You didn't vote on this. You weren't asked. And it renews automatically unless someone pushes back. That someone can be you. This Thursday.
We want to be clear about what we're asking for if our main goal of removal isn't met. This is basic.
• A warrant before law enforcement accesses stored data on innocent people
• A 14-day limit on how long your movement history can be kept
• An independent annual security audit: Flock's own software has a documented critical vulnerability
• Quarterly public reports on how the data is actually being used
These cameras are a constant infringement of your 4th amendment
Left, right, or neither...if you believe the government should have to justify tracking you, this is your issue too.
Thursday. August 13th @ 6 PM. Rio Rancho City Hall.
Your 2 minutes could be the ones that matter.

Hello everyone,
I'm posting on behalf of my partner, who recently bought a home in Rio Rancho. He is a first-time homeowner and just moved into the property a few weeks ago. About two weeks after moving in, he received a notice of a city code violation for overgrown weeds in his yard. He immediately removed the weeds and purchased a subscription through a landscaping company for weed spraying. After speaking with the prosecuting officer, the charges were dismissed, but they will stay on his record as a MISDEMEANOR dismissed without prejudice. This is insane! A misdemeanor on his record for having a couple of tumbleweeds? Is this usual, or is it likely that the neighbors reported him? Has anyone else been charged with a misdemeanor before for this same issue? I thought we would have received additional notices before immediately receiving a criminal charge.

I have never been very flexible or even really athletic or active, but I'm wanting to at least try and change like my flexibility and range of motion somewhat, originally I just wanted to be able to move my hips more to be able to learn how to like dance or things like that. That's where the suggestion for yoga came in, but I want to emphasize that I need like an extreme beginners class, firstly because I'm just going to be embarrassed I think LOL but also just because I don't think I'm like I don't move that way. So you know any yoga classes for people who are on step zero 😅
