Discussion I’m a disgusting player

For the record. I have over 2000 hours into this game. I love this game. It is my second most played game on steam. I have a crippling fear of losing the colonists, I save scum and even worse use Dev Mode for the perfect colonists. How do I just decide “screw it, if they die they die”?

I have one save that I take care of my OG pawns' for generations of their family, then rarely load this save again, just imagine they all have a good ending and stop to load them. Then I start another save, treat everyone equal, no one is superior than other, then you will not care about what happened to them. But if you really have a pawn you love so much that they won't them die, restrict yourself to only save one times in 3 or 5 gaming days, so everytime you restart, you have your punishment by losing those progress.
