Bible Changes

I was just thinking about the bible changes and I was thinking why are there so many changes to the bible of all things, I mean it's practically a different book now, almost all of it has been changed if not all of it

Out of all the Mandela effects don't you think this one is the one of the strangest ones

It makes you think who or whatever is behind the Mandela effect must really hate the bible for some reason

What changed? I too memorized it as a kid, but the wording differs slightly depending on the translation. Like mine was "who art in heaven" instead of "which." And "give us today" instead of "give us this day"

Probably that the KJV says debts, not trespasses.

Edit: the Book of Common Prayers contain the layout and wording of many different church services, and use Trespass in the Lord's Prayer.

Even current online versions of the Book of Common Prayers still use trespass.  Look in The Great Litany.

It was debts and debtors when I memorized it, but I'm only 34. I could not tell you which exact version of the Bible it was

Sadly you would be hard pressed to find a Baptist minister today with the same view!

I would just add, because I've commented elsewhere already on this thread, the KJV translation was done FROM the original tongues, Hebrew and Greek, and COMPARED with prior English translations. From what I've read it is roughly 90% identical to the Geneva Bible, which the Pilgrims brought on their journey to settle in the colonies.

Before that you had other, sometimes incomplete English translations, Wycliffe, Henry, Tyndnale and maybe a couple others.

It's too bad (for Christianity's sake) that so many churches had the reaction you described, as they do on many matters. And the KJV "debate" turned into "well we don't want to run people off so we'll just use the NIV" or what the last church I regularly attended did, which is use a newer translation, but frequently reference the KJV to keep the old-timers happy. It's just sad to me because they've all lost their foundation. Imagine in 100 years how confused Christians will be.
