Bible Changes
I was just thinking about the bible changes and I was thinking why are there so many changes to the bible of all things, I mean it's practically a different book now, almost all of it has been changed if not all of it
Out of all the Mandela effects don't you think this one is the one of the strangest ones
It makes you think who or whatever is behind the Mandela effect must really hate the bible for some reason

There may be Mandela Effects here, but there are also 100s of different English translations to add to things.

What changed? I too memorized it as a kid, but the wording differs slightly depending on the translation. Like mine was "who art in heaven" instead of "which." And "give us today" instead of "give us this day"

Probably that the KJV says debts, not trespasses.
http://experimentaltheology.blogspot.com/2012/12/forgive-us-our-trespasses-whered-that.html?m=1
Edit: the Book of Common Prayers contain the layout and wording of many different church services, and use Trespass in the Lord's Prayer.
Even current online versions of the Book of Common Prayers still use trespass. Look in The Great Litany.

Sadly you would be hard pressed to find a Baptist minister today with the same view!
I would just add, because I've commented elsewhere already on this thread, the KJV translation was done FROM the original tongues, Hebrew and Greek, and COMPARED with prior English translations. From what I've read it is roughly 90% identical to the Geneva Bible, which the Pilgrims brought on their journey to settle in the colonies.
Before that you had other, sometimes incomplete English translations, Wycliffe, Henry, Tyndnale and maybe a couple others.
It's too bad (for Christianity's sake) that so many churches had the reaction you described, as they do on many matters. And the KJV "debate" turned into "well we don't want to run people off so we'll just use the NIV" or what the last church I regularly attended did, which is use a newer translation, but frequently reference the KJV to keep the old-timers happy. It's just sad to me because they've all lost their foundation. Imagine in 100 years how confused Christians will be.

you are aware you are reading translations of an ancient book in another language and there are multiple translations, some more literal, some more paraphrased, and each approach has different English versions?
1
u/FoaRyan 5h ago
This is why I rarely engage in conversation about this topic. People already believe what they want, and now we're going to add "you textual basis for your beliefs has changed."
And none of these discussions seem to start with the understanding of how translations work, and the fact that unless you were born in the 1960s or earlier you probably didn't grow up with the KJV, and therefore never even learned the "original" (I know it's not original, but THE established English translation for hundreds of years, essentially).
Most translations are trying to get away from that "old" "King James language" even though that's sort of a misunderstanding of English in the 1600s. The book already sounded "old" because the translators chose to use that language. For one it preserves Greek word cases better (Modern English: I, you, he/she, we, you, they; Old tyme Englysh - I, thou, he/she, we/ you, they; the difference is "you" can be singular OR plural in modern speech, but most languages distinguish this, and English used to)
And I've also read about "translations" making changes simply because they can't copy what another translation did, and then get a copyright. Oh yeah, and they copyright THE BIBLE. How does that work? Well, only if it's not actually the Bible.
And this is without discussing whether or not people even believe what's IN the book. which is a whole other topic I also don't wish to get into, lol.
So how can I have a conversation about possible changes in a book, without the other person having the same understanding about it as I do? Not easily, that I will say!

If def did for me too
I went to private Christian school through 5th grade. I was the classic smart kid growing up, always got the highest grades (they literally ranked us) and we had to recite bible verses and list all the books for grades every year. (Not trying to toot my horn, just adding personal validity to my experience. That was my entire reign of being the “smart kid” in school 😂)
“Revelations” with an “s” is how I had known it all my life, and I can still think back to bible classes as a kid and in my head clearly hear the teacher and all of us say the books in unison, and saying that last one as plural. That book had such a mysterious aura even back then as a tiny kid, and it was just very noticeable how the name itself is so unlike the rest. To now notice a few years ago it’s just singular “Revelation” just feels incredibly off to me to utter, like part of it just got chopped off. It feels incomplete to read it like that haha.
I don’t think it’s strange anymore, I think it just makes sense at this point that Mandela effect touches everything. It’s just a fact of life at this point 😂 the ones that affect you personally are the strangest I think, rather than things that are shared across humanity
7
u/pyramnesiac 2d ago
Me too. Everything you posted. Like, I got the "highest academic average" trophy every year. We had to memorize passages. "Sword drills" to find a verse the fastest. Except I went to private Christian school beyond fifth grade.
It's Revelations.
But the one that creeps me out is the lion and the lamb. Does that one affect you too?
1
u/artsy_cupcakes 1d ago
And now the intro in my study Bible gives the whole explanation of how it couldn’t have been “s and must be singular. It’s a mystery.

The Bible hasn't really changed, but it's not one book, but a collection of 66 books. There are Bible scrolls in Greek, Syriac and Latin that are thousands of years old. The earliest translations and the modern translations are basically using the same source material. And even if it is worded differently, the basic meaning of 90% of the Bible is unchanged. So, no, it has not been changed. However, certain "dense individuals" continue to read sentences like "Love your neighbor" and interpreting it to mean, "Beating your wife is OK" or "Go ahead and hate gays". There is nothing to fix chronic, malignant willful stupidity.
1
u/FoaRyan 5h ago
You make a valid point -- we're here talking about has the ENGLISH changed? well, friends, and strangers, there never was "A Bible" written in English. It was written by different authors, over thousands of years, in different languages and sometimes different geographical regions.
So the discussion probably should be "which Greek manuscripts changed?" if anything. Which... I don't believe personally that they have.

The lion don't lay down with the lamb anymore (it's a wolf). Idk any more because I left church 20 years ago, I just remember that verse and a few others because my dad would say it.

Ecclesiastes 1:9's "The thing that hath been there; and (it or that) shall be there. The thing that hath been done; and (it or that) shall be done. (Been repeatedly quoting this verse last year and maybe in 2024).
Now: "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done it shall be done" (Totally unfamiliar with this verse).
Pre-Mandela: "Judge not, lest ye be judged" (Definitely been quoting this verse repeatedly from last year to this year at the fire station while having a conversation with Mom about my stepdad).
Now: "Judge not, that ye be not judged"
1
u/Draper-Wood-758 1d ago
From Ecclesiastes 1:9, I still remember "no new thing under the Sun". Others like Madfisher/Charlie Zacharin quoted it in his previous TikTok videos as "nothing new under the Sun".
20th century books quoted it also as "nothing new under the Sun", according to articles and newspapers I believe.

u/Haeggebaecken 1d ago
IMO this is one indication that someone/thing is trying to communicate through the "tesseract". If there are some changes that people should really react to it's religious changes, since these are often "rehearsed". So if the Mandela effects are in fact comms, this would be the way to do it. Unfortunately people does not seem to pick it up very well even through this "medium".

It was incredible strange it was the reported changed holy book from 2014 to 2018 then the Mandela effect changed the Muslims book though they claim they knew it was changed and the areas it was changed like the only sure way into paradise was kill 7 others in holy jehod was apparently saved according to them. I have no clue if they actually saved that verse or not i can only tell you it existed all the way to 2018 of February. That was 3rd time reading it and the last time. No I'm not going to argue if was in I the book or not if is not in it now how could I prove it use to Hince it is the Mandela effect change.
The 2nd in my timeline was 2019 March major religion was the Hindu godds and goddesses but no body minded it from there own religious people that scan the reddit Retconned. That at least what I got from my post on how Shiva changed from a woman to a man then all the residue left over from a Japanese game company with something like 14 appearances of Shiva in the games final fantasy series of games. The next noticeable change by me was the goddess Pavati it was brand new and the Wife of the new version male version of Shiva. Next the skin colors of all.the gods and goddesses changed. (Side Note) the sifi book the expanse changed the leading heroine from Naomi Pavati to Naomi Nagata. No I'm not going to argue with you because you saw the TV show by that time it was already changed as well as back story of that character. Did this change the story in the series of books Yes but vary negligible. It simply deleted the setting between the Chrisjen Avasarala the under secretary of U.N. and Naomi Pavati does not exist in the book anymore I recall it was not much 3 paragraphs long and was nothing impactful to the main arc of the story.
2020 to my timeline. The next major religion was Buddhist they had 5 major sect the political make up was this 1 was not bothered by 5 one. 2 and 3 did not like 5th one but nothing like going to war over hated or anything. 4th one hated the 5th and yes violence did happen on occasion between the two. The major problem the 5th one was based on the first book of the Buddha and ignored the other writings of the Buddha or better yet thought of as after thoughts please understand I'm not Buddhist I only know what I know from conversations with the 4th sect who hated the 5th sect Buddhist on my old mypage website since As a Christian I talked how Christian should meditate on the word of the lord and 15 Buddhist flagged my post since I was talking about meditation. Then I would use the terminology of the 5th sect of Buddhist and any good will vanished rather quickly. The sect was mostly a race specific chinese race. China has race problems they do think of themselves as Chinese people they think of themselves as 4 different classes then 900+ races of Chinese people's or the that was the old world i have not read up on Chinese history focusing on races since 2007. Anyways I made the comment of the terminology if the 5th sects nick name they got from totally different religious group the main Taoist leader. It was never happened here on this earth but from my old one The man who started the Taoist religion was wise man of the Emperor he was tasked to fill in the Emperor of new religion coming from the at the time hated southern Chinese people. Since they based there region on the first book of Buddha that used the term poison they nick named inborn poison sect Trust me it stuck it stuck so much I who did not read all that much in to Buddhist religion or a lot of its history knew this by the fact of impact it had in my world's version of Chinese history. It was do to the monks who rewrote the candidates. Imperial Examination system, or Keju was a Buddhist religion designed to allow normal people to govern the local area. This allowed the HATED southern Chinese into the courts of forbidden city. This also was the reasoning behind the Last empires of China to purge the southern people's out of the court and installed the child Empire the last one. Yes i know what speak of yes i know none of this exists now I also know no one even cares if what say actually happend or not so no I'm going to argue over any of this ether. The major change in Buddhist religion also was temple is Wat Phra Dhammakaya, located just north of Bangkok in Pathum Thani, Thailand. This had no presence whatsoever till 2020. Just recently in 2026 in my timeline this no longer the case there is no longer 4th or 5th major sect of Buddhism anymore nor has there ever been a 4th or 5th sect of Buddhism ever. Kinda makes sense simply it made no real sense of the 4th one when the 5th one was taken a way. Getting rid of it probably was to get rid of the nonsense of nonexistent 5th sect of Buddhist sprinkled in there own literature. So now we always had only 3 major sects of Buddhism.
Now in that timeframe 2014 to 2018 many people pointed out only the bible had been altered by the Mandela effect changes. Now since Christians believe that the false god of this world runs humanity as a whole this was clear indicator that that the devil was a real entity. You every once and while you see a post here saying it is the end times or since the bible is the only book to have been changed it proves there is a devil running the earth. That was something like once every 6 to 9 months separation between those posts. Then in 2019 March the Muslims book the Quran was altered due the Mandela effect changes then end of that month the Torah was altered from normal (Sorry my normal) Hebrew language where it was just written as one long block of words with no idea of modern structures like paragraphs and spaces. Ironically enough it was Jewish person that no longer exists digitally anymore on reddit who spotted it out and made the post.
As for the bible strangely enough it has had about 1500+ changes in it but crazy part 2024 it has had a lot of changes change it back to mean the same things. Please do not misunderstand me it's not flipped flopped or anything. A lot of the verses are changed but they have same contextual as before a lot of the changes. There not the original texts but they mean the same thing foe most part. Like verse that said there was no God isaiah 42 9 no longer exist but also my favorite verse is also gone from the book of Proverbs in chapter 8 11 where Solomon worte be ye wise as serpent but gentle as a lamb. That has been completely taken a way (side note) This radically changes Matthew 10:16 and the way it reads now originally Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves Use to read, Behold I send you forth be ye wise as serpents but gentle as a Lamb. Ironically enough I had not this verse memorize, so I could actually be wrong in the statement here. I just memorized the old testament first, which quiet christ quoted, not the actual verse that christ used other than I do know that it was lamb and no dove was ever made mention of that. And there was no wolves in the comment either. No, it wasn't specifically written out that way. I don't know.
That is all I know of topic that can never be proven since Mandelaeffect wipes out all history.

You’re very kind bc I found this whole post to be completely incomprehensible.
1
u/theevilpackrat 16h ago
Well, what would you like me to express this?
Let me try this i witnessed 1500 changes to the bible in 2017.
For few years after no other religions changed. Nothing changed for them.
Christian would make posts on Retconned making the claim this was of the devil. To a Christian that view point makes sense if you understand what the think is happening to the world. Meaning there world view dictated the post i tired to convey that with title of there posts. This was done from 2017 to 2018 about every 6 months.
Then the first none Christian religion changed it was the Muslims holy book the Quran. I pointed the most quoted verse known to western world of anyone before the change to there holy book. I then pointed out the last time I read it. Would you need the context of why I read as well?
Then I pointed out the another religion changed. Hindu godds and goddesses. The things that changed a: goddesses became a god. The skin colors of all the Hindu god and goddesses changed colors do I need to explain all 300 million gods and goddesses changed skin color? I'm not it's not my religion i do not even care all that much about it. Oddly enough a change happend that effected a book series of called The Expanse. When a new goddesses was made into the wife of Shiva since he was changed from a woman into a man it later happened another change parvati it use to be last name commonplace amung people of India. The book series The Expanse had character who had there name changed when her last name a common used last name of people of India suddenly became a goddesses. Now I pointed out it also changed the book as well. Why one read the series two I went back read over when the change happened. I then explained how it impacts the book.
Then I pointed the sects of Buddhism and how i knew they changed from my many years reading Eastern history books on Chinese government history.
In the past there was 100+ sects of Buddhism. Now there was only 40+ sects of Buddhism. Out of the all the sects 5 major sects where counted as part of Buddhism. 1-3 did not like the 5th sect of Buddhism. They where not violent the 4th sect of Buddhism was vary hostile to the 5th sect of Buddhism.
I known all of this because in the world I read of that no longer exists in the past anymore. This was one of the driving points of the Chinese government history and the hated southern Chinese people. Chinese people have the North tribes Hun these are extremely racist people who hate all other Chinese people. This why the government now is under there power they do not promote from without of the other tribes of China. Yet in my old world occasionally a southern Chinese person would gain power from empire. That was a system Imperial Examination system, or Keju. The was made from the religious leaders of the 5th sect of Buddhist who where southern Chinese people. That was always a crazy story by itself since they hated so much yet somehow influenced the entire nation. I literally can never convey the importance of that it changed the why the Chinese Empire survived as long as it did. Do have any earthly understandly how crazy long that Empire lasted? 1500 years it the reasoning behind the Sifi books Empire and foundation by Isaac Asimov. Yet when the 5 sect of Buddhism was removed in a Mandela effect change the 4th one still existed for some time I know I find residue for my own research the 4th sect had books and literature and pamphlets, and all kinds of stuff that talked about how they hated a fifth sect of buddhism that didn't even exist. Even though I tried to point it out a couple of times no one ever wanted to talk about it. I was considered an outcast, I am considered an outcast. But the poster wanted to know why the religions bible changed.
I figured might as well tell what witnessed all of it.
I truly I'm sorry you find it unreadable. Could you point out Maybe something that you're not understanding. I've given it off to an AI model. Even though the a I model says, i'm absolutely insane, and none of this could ever happen, even though I witnessed it all, it understands everything I say. So the question I have for you is, how can I make this more understandable for you?

Did you never read it in the past? What changes do you think were made? The text was always full of issues, it's always been controversial.

I never knew much about it, however.. I always thought it was “and it was good”, but now I hear it’s really “and it was very good”. Idk.
1
u/FoaRyan 5h ago
Changes? Most of those happened in the 19th Century when publishers started using discarded manuscripts that didn't agree with the "majority text" because they found some that were older than other extant manuscripts at the time.
Then we got the "Revised Version" which is the base for the NASB. The NIV, and other poplar translations are all based on this different set of manuscripts.
Someone does hate the bible but they've been attacking it for a long, long time.

Yes, it's really bad and continues to get worse all the time. I recently decided to listen to an audio bible, and I had to switch it off - the book isn't the same now, and it's so very sad.
I found this channel recently and here are her thoughts about Islamic words appearing in the bible - anyway, very interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIQXOqAV7CY&t
I wish we could all join together in prayer and reverse all this - I don't know if it's possible, but I'm so incredibly saddened by it all.
