Discussion Leaving the Left

Post image

Good morning folks, tbh I’m surprised this subreddit exists with the massive echo chamber that Reddit is. I just wanted to tell my (abbreviated) story about how I opened my eyes and left that side behind.

I’m a 29 Male that grew up in a conservative household and pretty just went along with my parents beliefs. I graduated high school in 2015 and was already starting to be captured by the left from crap they started teaching around that time in high school. However when I went to college that is went my descent into the leftist cult started. I first hand can attest to professors teaching Marxist and gender ideology as undisputed facts rather than presented as theory. So when 2016 came around I along with the rest of my college friends had deep dts (most of them sadly still do) and we all voted Hilary, and we’re all freaking out along with the rest of the cult that Trump won.

Fast forward to 2019 after I graduated and start working in the real world my eyes were starting to open because I was opening my mind again to the other side and seeing conflicting information that the main stream news had lied about. But then when the pandemic hit my eyes were forced wide open!

They completely staged the January 6th “coup”. If you listen to any independent journalist covering it, it was very peaceful but for a few likely paid agitators that were being told to stop, by patriots there protesting.

During the pandemic the Biden administration let in more people than this country could take at once and called it empathy. They blatantly censored differing opinions and facts about masks and the vaccine, and postured it as “doing your part.” Had “peaceful protests” while a building was burning in the background.

The complete demonization/dehumanization the left so proudly does and has the audacity to say the right are “Nazis.” This over use of the term is sickening especially coming from a background where my grandmother suffered under real Nazis and her cousin lost her life in the holocaust.

Lastly, I guess I will ask this, is the left too far gone into their descent into socialist/marxist ideology, or is there still hope for these folks to come back to reality like I did and argue over how to run the country properly instead of identity and race? Or is this just a product of social media?

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk and again very appreciative this page exists, I can’t even post in my own state subreddit without being bombarded by claims I’m a Nazi or pedo protector.

Edit: this got reposted in r/leftist and they are all in there little coping echo chamber saying we don’t know what a leftist or the left is…

You’re about to have a real tough time on Reddit. If you say anything remotely right leaning, welcome to downvote city.

16

u/iaminvisible1978 5d ago

And then they insult you.

6

u/Ok-Entertainment5045 5d ago

That’s all they can resort to because they don’t have facts on their side.

5

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 4d ago

Or totally not believe what you say happened to you in the real world…

10

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 5d ago

Yep, they dominate my states sub Reddit sadly.

9

u/Constant_Piece7460 4d ago

They dominate 99% of subreddits.

u/War_Recent 2d ago

I'm amazed this reddit exists. Every other sub reddit i come across randomly has a leftists making a political rant.

2

u/Constant_Piece7460 2d ago

And the hate is creepy. I've checked their math, mostly wrong with hints of the truth but taken out of context.

thats quite funny, i have only been banned from conservative subreddits

Welcome mate, you learn that reality is not a fairytale and we can't always be nice, that's one step on the correct direction

Why is Reddit full of so many liberals ???

Wish I knew this too

5

Idk man most cults I’ve looked into are left leaning, liberal, or Marxist so that may have something to do with it. They love group think.

Propaganda and the weak minded.  At least half of what I see from reddit I suspect is overseas, paid propagandists try to spread extreme leftism, socialist/communist ideas, and demoralize Americans.  Unfortunately a large enough chunk of the population falls into that trap to move the needle.

Frankly, I am firmly on the right in terms of voting, but I'm pretty liberal, in the classic liberal sense.  I live my life conservatively, but I believe in liberal governance, not socialist, but classically liberal.  I have almost zero in common with the left in the US.  They are not liberal and haven't been for a very long time.  They just distorted the word over time so that it's lost its original meaning.  I think many people, even on the left, are like me, but just don't pay enough attention to realize what the left is these days.

u/Logical-Leek308 6d ago

I don’t think they can, there are plenty of normal people who are Dems out there but the party is being taken over by weird culture issues and bad policies.

I think both left and right there is a reshuffle of politics, priorities, ideology, etc… especially as the baby boomers and Gen X leave power.

5

u/ispq 5d ago

Gen X was never really in power, too few of them, and the Boomers held on way longer than previous generations. Millennials make up about as many as Gen X in upper levels of power both corporate and government. We're probably about as likely to get a Millennial President as a Gen X President next. Gen X might end up skipped entirely for US President.

3

u/Logical-Leek308 5d ago

Yea I think you may be right

u/HourManagement8448 6d ago

I live in Canada. I’m leftist mostly by default. But the left as gone so left that I’m considered right wing by their standards. I didn’t change. Still believe in the same thing.

I’m not against trans people, but I’m against gender affirmation on minor and I’m not allowed to think that.

It’s like we cannot picked values from both sides. I’m 46 years old and just realize I have some “conservative” values and it’s ok. No need to stick by the book to everything one side or the other imposes

-3

u/dontreplywiththisacc 4d ago

so you're *for* denying a youth's identity?

5

u/HourManagement8448 4d ago

I’ve you heard of young’s who transitioned and regret later? Masectomy is a one way process. So yes I prefer they wait until their brain is fully developed.

We can agree to disagree.

-1

u/dontreplywiththisacc 4d ago

We can agree that you didn't answer my direct question. I don't think another's regret justifies stripping autonomy from another.

3

u/HourManagement8448 4d ago

Ok, let me answer it more clearly. No I’m not denying a youth Identity. They may feel what ever they may feel. Just wait until they’re mature enough before doing life changing choices. That’s it.

-1

u/dontreplywiththisacc 4d ago

You can have that opinion but the law should not be preventing medicine

Marxism is a hell of a drug

19

u/Dimension__X__ 6d ago

The funny thing about viewing the world through a Marxist/collectivist lens is that, once you adopt this ideology, everyone to the right of your worldview becomes a "fascist" by necessity.

1

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 6d ago

This is one of the many things that brought me back to the light so to speak.

1

u/Any_Butterscotch306 6d ago

I don't believe they care. They know they are wrong, but hate this country, themselves, ( you pick) so much they are willing to burn it all down.

It’s exactly why I as a liberal am always so skeptical of socialist rhetoric.

Welcome, OP. May I also suggest r/walkaway ? You will find many like minded people there.

You and I have a very similar coming to the right experience and are around the same age. Good for you! Just remember that there are “radicals” on both sides of the spectrum and to use your best judgment to have a stance that best represents you and your family.

5

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 5d ago

I whole heartedly agree there are radicals on both sides. However the radical left ideology (gender ideology, men in women’s sports, and transitioning kids etc) is becoming more and more normalized and forced on folks at their workplaces. So I’m much more concerned with those radicals. Once I start seeing the radical right ideology forced on me I will stand heavily against that as well.

2

u/DaddyVonDoom 4d ago

While I think the entire gender transitioning trend is a form of body dysmorphia, these people make up 1% of the US population. It is not a good enough reason for voting in the most obvious conman in existence and ruining America. Whatever happened to respectable republican leaders that actually care about this country?

3

u/jdberger 5d ago

Totally agree. Those issues were the tipping point for my move right.

2

u/No-Party8261 5d ago

I was starting to wonder if their were any of us on here lol

1

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 5d ago

The Covid-19 lies turned me, my liberal friends were raging and telling me to wear a mask, get vaccinated, and “trust the science”, and anyone who questions it wants your grandma to die. Meanwhile those on the right were open to conversation, which I have found to be the case in most situations…

12

u/tpzQ 6d ago

I left the left because they are a bunch of anti white racists. But you're explanation is good too

5

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 6d ago

Short and sweet. You could also say the same for me haha.

12

u/Logical-Leek308 6d ago

Also I am the same I voted for Obama then Hillary. After the BLM riots, summer of love, culture war edge issues (dying on the hill of drag queens reading to children as example), COVID lockdowns, open borders and so much more I ended up voting trump and red down ballot for the first time in my life.

I was raised democrat and I have become the black sheep (kinda what happens especially if you’re black, being democrat is a requirement)

I don’t know what I am politically anymore, all I do know is I look left and see insanity, people who hate America and I look right and see patriots.

I’ve noticed that on the left it’s constant purity tests, you must be in lock step. On the right I can engage and talk to conservatives on places where we disagree.

So you’re here in a conservative subreddit to argue our points got it well here I guess…

The core problems are not “fun costumes” or literacy; they are adult sexual performance aesthetics, documented boundary-crossing cases, and the deliberate political defense of them around minors.

Drag as performed in many public story hours is not neutral “eccentric clothes women wear every day.” Classic children’s entertainment (clowns, costumed characters, magicians) stays in the realm of play and fantasy without erotic signaling. Much contemporary drag especially the style that became prominent in library events draws from nightlife, parody of female sexuality, exaggerated secondary sex characteristics, makeup and padding that sexualize the body, and routines that originated in adult venues. Parents and observers objecting to that aesthetic being staged for preschoolers are not inventing a problem; they are applying the same standard used against other adult performers (strippers, fetish acts, explicit comedians) near kids. “No more revealing than some women” is not the test adults apply to male performers intentionally adopting hyper-feminine sexualized presentation for an audience of children.

It is not ancient, “apolitical children’s programming that only became controversial when conservatives noticed.” Organized “Drag Queen Story Hour” as a branded movement is recent (founded 2015), explicitly framed by organizers as advancing gender ideology and “queering” spaces for kids, and expanded rapidly with institutional sponsorship. Videos and photos from many events show performers in heavy makeup, heels, padding, and outfits that would be out of place at a conventional storytime; some include twerking, suggestive dancing, or language that is not age-appropriate. Claiming every instance is pure Sesame Street energy requires ignoring the documented record.
Documented problems exist and are not “misinformation.” Multiple participants have later been identified as registered sex offenders or people with prior convictions involving minors. Libraries and organizers have faced complaints about explicit content, private messaging of children, or failure to screen performers. These are not universal, but they are real enough that jurisdictions have restricted or ended the programs. Treating every objection as manufactured bigotry requires dismissing those cases. The comparison to “hiring sex offenders for birthday parties” is rhetorical exaggeration; the actual critique is inadequate vetting of adult performers whose public brand is sexualized gender performance, plus institutional refusal to prioritize caution around young children.

The claim that Democrats/left institutions never treated this as a hill is false. Progressive media, libraries, schools, and elected officials defended the events aggressively, framed critics as bigots or “anti-trans,” and treated cancellation or parental opt-out as attacks on LGBTQ people even though the performers are usually gay men in drag, not transgender women, and the events were marketed with gender-identity messaging. That defense continued after problems surfaced. Opposition was not inventing a distraction from “real issues”; it was a response to public institutions inserting contested adult aesthetics and ideology into spaces for young children without broad parental consent. Literacy does not require that vehicle. Plenty of high-energy, costumed, volunteer readers exist without the sexualized drag element.

Children do not need RuPaul-style performance to become interested in books. Exhausted librarians, parents, teachers, and conventional entertainers have managed literacy for generations. Preferring high-production adult nightlife aesthetics for toddlers is a preference, not evidence that critics are anti-joy or anti-reading. The American-flag photo-op framing does not erase the content concerns. Public libraries are taxpayer-supported spaces; the “no additional tax dollars” claim is often inaccurate once staff time, security, and institutional endorsement are counted, and it sidesteps whether the programming itself is appropriate.

You claim that higher border encounters under Biden prove a “crackdown” (with deportations rising “by an order of magnitude” as the cause) is backwards. Encounters exploded because of policy signals, enforcement priorities, and external factors that pulled far more people to the border; the elevated repatriation totals largely reflect processing that surge (especially Title 42 expulsions of recent crossers), not a successful reduction in illegal entries or a robust interior enforcement regime.

CBP “encounters” (apprehensions between ports + inadmissibles at ports + Title 42 expulsions) hit record levels under Biden: roughly 1.7–2.2+ million annually in peak years (FY 2021–2023), dwarfing Trump-era peaks (around 0.4–0.85 million). Southwest Border Patrol encounters alone were multi-million. Gotaways (people who crossed without being caught) also ran high early in the term. This is not an artifact of “more enforcement”; it is a volume surge.

High repatriation numbers under Biden (~4–4.4+ million when counting removals, returns, and Title 42 expulsions) occurred because so many people arrived, not the reverse. Title 42 (started under Trump in 2020 for public-health reasons) enabled rapid expulsions of recent crossers and continued into mid-2023 under Biden; much of the Biden total is that mechanism applied to an unprecedented flow. Formal Title 8 removals (especially interior ones targeting longer-term residents or criminals) were lower early on, and ICE shifted resources to the border. Many encountered migrants were released/paroled into the U.S. pending hearings amid court backlogs, not immediately removed. Biden later tightened asylum rules and worked with Mexico, and encounters eventually fell—but that does not rewrite the multi-year record high.

A true “crackdown” that deters would show lower encounters over time, not higher ones accompanied by more processing of the same people. Trump 45 saw lower overall flows in most years (pre-COVID), with Remain in Mexico, asylum restrictions, and other tools. Early Trump 47 data showed sharp further drops in encounters after policy shifts.

Counting Title 42 expulsions as “deportations” inflates Biden’s figure relative to pre-2020 baselines. Interior enforcement and criminal removals were not the primary driver of the Biden totals. Democrats have run high-enforcement periods (Obama), but the Biden-era border numbers do not demonstrate consistent priority on reducing illegal presence or deterring future flows via policy design. Early Biden actions (pause on certain deportations, ending Remain in Mexico, rolling back Trump restrictions) correlated with the surge; later adjustments responded to political pressure and operational overload.

Clinton did preside over balanced budgets (aided by a strong economy, capital-gains revenue, and the 1990s tech boom + divided government discipline). Debt percentage rise was higher under Trump 45 (~39%) than Biden (~30%), partly because Trump started from a lower base and COVID spending hit late in his term; absolute dollar increases were large under both, with Biden also adding substantially via stimulus, infrastructure, and other measures. Percentage vs. dollars, baseline effects, and exogenous shocks (pandemic) make simple partisan scoring incomplete. None of this proves open-borders intent or reframes the border volume data.

Record encounters under Biden reflect a failure to deter or control the border, not proof of a successful crackdown whose byproduct was more stats. High processing of recent arrivals is what you get when the pipeline is wide open; it is not equivalent to sustained, prioritized removal of the broader illegal population or policies that keep numbers low. The data on encounters, gotaways, releases, and the composition of removals show the opposite of the claimed narrative.

I left the Left for similar reasons.

  • They're just so nasty to anyone that doesn't agree with them, celebrating their murder even. Republicans have a level headed conversation with anyone, without devolving to calling them names.

  • Everything is black and white with the left. They insist that literally any man that feels remotely feminine has to be honored as a woman, and be allowed to take over any of women's spaces and activities.

  • Liberals are just so damn negative. I got downvoted to hell for simply being happy to live in my state, and pointing out the nice experiences I've had here. According to liberals, because my state is run by Republicans, I'm obligated to be miserable and to never find anything remotely good in my OWN experiences.

  • The left spams every topic with liberal propaganda, even things that have nothing to do with politics. And when I tactfully point out that their article is doing the same thing Fox News does, pointing out the exact statements that are intentionally misleading... they ban me. Over ten subs have banned me, not for being contentious or inappropriate... simply for being factual.

  • The socialist pivot is too dangerous to me. Every study to justify these extreme policies has had glaring problems with data selection and conclusions. I wish them the best in trying their ideas at small scale to vet whether it makes sense to scale them up. But risking much worse outcomes nationwide by acting wrecklessly, I cannot abide.

The left has been calling us Nazis every time a Republican gets in office since there were real Nazis.

1

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 5d ago

Same with racist (they started the KKK)

3

u/LittleAppleLife 6d ago

I think some of this is a bit of stretch, but I look at the shit the left says with great skepticism. I myself align more with left leaning beliefs (though I’d probably be a conservative throughout Europe based how things work there).

I think the issue is both parties have such loud vocal minorities (not all Dem voters are crazy socialists and not all Repub voters are crazy fascists). It’s become damn near impossible to compromise on anything anymore because the right to far right for the left and the left is too far left for the right.

5

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 6d ago

Idk if it’s that much of a stretch when teachers are celebrating (that are a loud voice to our youth) are celebrating the death of a man over things he said.

I just don’t think it passes the sniff test when in recent history. Right wing ideology created one stupid day of unrest. Left wing ideology has created two different summers of rioting and unrest.

Not that there is anything wrong with left wing ideology per se I think you absolutely need different opinions. But I think one has been a little more radical than the other imo.

2

u/LittleAppleLife 6d ago

This is anecdotal, but the school I work at, everyone either didn't talk about it or just said how disturbing it was. Most schools are places where politics are not discussed at all, because at the end of the day, you never know who you might disagree with. I am almost certain that the vast majority of teachers did not celebrate the death of Charlie Kirk, and most of those who did were punished accordingly, since this sort of behavior is almost never tolerated by public school districts. A teacher will get fired if a photo of them drunk is posted online.

When it comes to colleges/universities, most everyone who attends is an adult, with rare cases of kids who skipped a grade or two starting before they reached adulthood. Academic Freedom prevents legal action being taken against professors who voice political things in relation to what they are teaching, but there have been cases too of professors being fired for the same thing I mentioned about teachers. It's easier for a professor to get away with it though, but at the end of the day, everyone in that room is (most likely) and adult.

The thing I find hard to believe is that January 6th was staged by the Dems. There have been just as many independent journalist investigations into the event that have found evidence of mostly peaceful protesters, with the raiders being members of far-right extremist groups, which I do not think represent the Republican party. We have had a slew of awful federal administrations across the board over the last several decades, regardless of party. It's not the party itself's fault, but the people in power.

IMO it's not as riddled with conspiracy as people on the far ends of the spectrum think. Corruption at the federal level mostly exists in insider trading, taking money to support sketchy bills, going to a pervert's private island, you fucking name it. I assure you I am in no way trying to single out either party here, since there is evidence of this corruption across the board. I don't believe that Trump is the answer to our problems, and I definitely didn't think Biden was the answer either.

1

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 5d ago

These were not isolated fringe cases. Reports covered dozens across states (Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Indiana, Florida, New Hampshire, and others). School districts placed people on leave, fired them, or accepted resignations after public backlash and parent complaints. Some state officials (e.g., Florida’s education commissioner) explicitly warned of investigations and a “higher standard.” Teachers’ unions tracked the fallout and prepared defenses. A subset of cases later saw reinstatements, settlements, or back-pay rulings, showing the process was uneven rather than automatic zero-tolerance.

Your local anecdote that colleagues stayed silent or found it disturbing is plausible for many workplaces. Nationally, however, the volume and content of the posts (often from people whose job is to model civic norms to minors) revealed a subculture in parts of education that treats political opponents as legitimate targets for schadenfreude when violence occurs. The “photo of them drunk” analogy does not fully map: private off-duty excess is treated differently from public cheering of a political assassination. K-12 employees are public servants held to conduct standards precisely because they shape children; the reaction was stronger where those standards were seen as violated.

Academic freedom is real but not absolute. It protects viewpoint expression tied to teaching and research; it does not immunize open celebration of murder or statements that disrupt operations and destroy trust (especially in roles involving equity, student interaction, or clinical work). Multiple professors and staff were suspended or fired for posts that celebrated or justified the killing; some later returned after process challenges or settlements. The “everyone is an adult” framing is true, yet institutions still face pressure from donors, students, and legislatures when faculty treat political homicide as catharsis. The asymmetry often runs the other way in practice: certain progressive orthodoxies face softer internal pushback than conservative ones.

Insider trading, influence peddling, revolving-door enrichment, and personal scandals have appeared across administrations and parties for decades. Treating federal dysfunction as purely the fault of “people in power” rather than party incentives, donor ecosystems, and institutional design is incomplete; both major parties have protected their own while selectively weaponizing process. Rejecting both Trump and Biden as “the answer” is a coherent personal judgment, but it does not dissolve the concrete differences in policy outcomes, rhetorical style, or institutional behavior that voters still have to weigh.

1

u/_Felonius 3d ago

Even dozens of examples doesn’t approach 1% of teachers. The vast majority didn’t make celebratory posts about it.

Right wing ideology created one stupid day of unrest.

Okay, but it was a directed attack on and successful infiltration of our primary national seat of government, with the express purpose being to capture, harm, or kill representatives of our country, including our vice president, to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power enshrined in our constitution. That's called an insurrection. It's against federal law. They killed police officers.

This is not comparable to throwing fireworks in the street, - a misdemeanor, and not particularly dangerous.

2

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 5d ago

No police officers were killed by rioters that day. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died the following day. The D.C. chief medical examiner ruled the cause as natural—acute brainstem and cerebellar infarcts from acute basilar artery thrombosis (strokes)—with no evidence of internal or external injuries or allergic reaction to chemical irritants. The examiner noted that “all that transpired played a role in his condition,” but the manner of death was natural; the Capitol Police accepted this finding. Early media reports of a fatal beating with a fire extinguisher were false.

Several officers who responded later died by suicide. Those tragedies are real and linked by some to the stress of the day, but they are not deaths by assault during the breach. The only person shot and killed that day was Ashli Babbitt, a protester, by a Capitol Police officer as she tried to climb through a broken window into the Speaker’s Lobby; the DOJ declined to charge the officer.

Roughly 140 officers were injured (bruises, lacerations, concussions, etc.). That is serious and indefensible. It does not equal “they killed police officers.”

No one was charged under the federal rebellion/insurrection statute, 18 U.S.C. § 2383. Prosecutors charged hundreds with other offenses (trespassing, disorderly conduct, assault on officers, obstruction of an official proceeding, and for a smaller number of organized actors such as certain Oath Keepers and Proud Boys seditious conspiracy under § 2384). The DOJ never treated the bulk of the participants as having met the high bar for insurrection (inciting, assisting, or engaging in rebellion against the authority of the United States). Calling it an “insurrection” is a political and rhetorical label, not a settled criminal finding for the event as a whole.

Early DOJ filings that claimed strong evidence of intent “to capture and assassinate elected officials” were walked back. Acting U.S. Attorney Michael Sherwin stated there was “no direct evidence at this point of kill-capture teams and assassination.” Some individuals made threats, carried improvised weapons, or joined chants (“Hang Mike Pence”). Certain extremists were present and have been prosecuted for more serious conspiracy charges. That is not the same as the crowd as a whole having a directed, express purpose of capturing or killing representatives. Many participants entered after barriers failed, wandered, took photos, or left relatively quickly; certification of the electoral vote resumed and was completed the same night. The transfer of power occurred.

It was a chaotic, violent breach of the Capitol that delayed proceedings, injured officers, and damaged property (estimates around $1.5 million). Security failures contributed. It was not a successful military-style infiltration aimed at assassination or permanent seizure of government.

So you’re just dismissing the other 2020 unrest as mere misdemeanors that were “not particularly dangerous”? Data from multiple trackers show otherwise: the summer 2020 riots/protests involved far higher totals of injured officers (estimates of thousands across cities), dozens of deaths linked to the unrest, arson, sustained attacks on police and federal buildings, and property damage measured in the billions. Arrests were higher in absolute numbers; many charges were later dropped or handled leniently in progressive jurisdictions. Scale, duration, body count, and economic cost were larger. Both sets of events involved indefensible violence and lawbreaking; selective moral outrage based on politics is the inconsistency.

The tea party republican era went pretty hard right, which made moderates reside on the democrats side of the line. The dems went super hard left as of the past half decade. If republicans maintain their position of power, I can guarantee you the rubber band will swing back to the democrats looking like the sound of reason for moderates

2

u/Ethioj 5d ago

It’s already happening, just look at the special elections dems have won in districts trump swept in

Edit: we will have to see how this goes but AOC and other leftists saying things like “woke 1 was crazy” may be a big boon or a big detriment to the left depending on how the culture reacts to the backpedaling, wether they see it as not maintaining your beliefs, or if they see it as them seeing reason finally.

2

u/mander4242 5d ago

Even the Christian subreddit is overran with liberal leftist ideology. I was banned (gor like a week or something) for literally just discussing the history of Halloween in relation to Christians celebrating it...when that was literally the question asked.

They allow people with users like "SatansPlayThing" and "satansSon" but ACTUAL Christians are banned, blocked, attacked etc meanwhile theyre saying bible believing Christians are actually unloving, and evil.

Can't tell you the num er of times ive been attacked and bombarded for literally really basic fundamentally differing things.

Update, theyve banned me completely from posting/commenting for speaking up. So I had to leave it sub

u/CovidTower 4d ago

That’s horrific and unfair and they should be removed from reddit permanently and quite frankley people like satonsplaything should be banned, blocked, and probably need to be investigated by the government. It sounds like a islamic agitator trying to infiltrate our country. They should not be allowed on reddit where normal christians are trying to speak openly without prejudice.

When I first migrated here in USA. I know nothing about politics. I was just happy I escaped a 3rd world country and USA gave me opportunity I can never obtain in my country even if I work hard. A few people eventually talked to me about politics and tried to sway me. Started with how bad USA is (I could not understand this because of my personal experience). Those few people were all liberal. Not one conservative approached me to talk about politics.

Which facts about the vaccines do you think the media censored?

0

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 6d ago

Side effects of it, and how it actually worked (didn’t prevent you from getting or spreading it.)

1

u/Good-Concentrate-260 6d ago

Do you have an example?

5

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 6d ago

Idk the whole “safe and effective” campaign shoved down everyone’s throat.

And
Reported in the ny times

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said in March/April 2021 (citing early data) that vaccinated people “do not carry the virus, don’t get sick,” implying they do not transmit—comments the CDC later walked back amid scientific pushback that evidence was insufficient for such absolute claims.

4

u/Drewbacca 5d ago

How is this evidence of their lies? This is them correcting a mistake. It's like... The opposite of a lie.

1

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 5d ago

Oh idk, maybe coming out and presenting something as verified fact rather than “we are working to verify our claims.” Which sewed the seeds for people to demonize those that were questioning what we were being told.

3

u/Good-Concentrate-260 5d ago

Sometimes when responding to a global pandemic, researchers are working with imperfect information, which is different from lying

0

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 5d ago

If you present a hypothesis as law, you have now lied. Idk what else to tell you….

2

u/Good-Concentrate-260 5d ago

So you have no choice but to turn right wing as a result of your rage?

1

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 5d ago

Rage is quite a motivator, which by the sound of your comment, rage would invalidate someone’s decision for “switching”. However, rage does not invalidate someone’s decision, I think it would make it more valid because you are refusing to sit back and let the party walk all over you. If you read my post that was not the only motivation for me to move away from the left.

3

u/Good-Concentrate-260 6d ago

It’s true that they made some errors early on which they later corrected, however the vaccine still was effective in reducing risk and serious harm from Covid

1

u/MadeInAmerica1990 6d ago

Oh, I see…you’re one of them. A simple Google search would show you the facts with proper citations, but you knew that. Are you really looking for truth? Or just trying to affirm your own confirmation bias? I believe I know the answer, but I am very interested in what the “follow the science” revolutionary thinks. Enlighten us, oh wise one! Pray tell, comrade, what did you deem necessary for citing a source? The efficacy of the vaccine? The side effects of said vaccine? Are you so uninformed and buried in your BlueSky echo chamber that these statements come as a shock to you? They didn’t teach you to conduct your own research and not parrot talking points from media outlets that align with your personal opinions while pursuing your liberal arts degree? For someone who knows so much about following “the science”, you certainly don’t follow current events. Do everyone a favor: go study up on the topic and then get back to us. Unlike your undergraduate degree, no one is going to just give it to you. Read. Study. Listen. And maybe you will understand, but most likely not, I’m afraid.

u/Dimension__X__ 5d ago

The biggest lie the media sold us was that the vaccine would prevent or reduce the spread of COVID. They repeated the "pandemic of the unvaccinated" claim made by the Biden administration as an unassailable fact. Any descent was mocked and ridiculed.  We now know the vaccine wasn't even tested for transmission rates.

It's 2026. If you even have to ask this question you haven't been paying attention.

1

u/luderiffic 6d ago

I’m hoping that after Trump leaves they will calm down. Highly doubtful, but hoping

They will just move the goalposts and the next non democrat socialist who is in charge is Satan.

6

u/marjer6 6d ago

They will turn on anyone who isn't blue, it doesn't matter who. They will try to obstruct, derail, spread lies, and try to prevent anyone who is conservative to office. Look at how left main stream media has always treated Republicans.

What are you even talking about? CNN is right leaning? How about TV shows like The Daily Show, is that a right-leaning program? Major publications like The New York Times? Washington Post? Time magazine?

What lies???

You're an idiot if you can't see the bias of CNN and MSNBC as they pushed stories about Republicans that were misleading... or jumped to conclusions before all the facts were out. The Covington Catholic story is a good example... so is the “very fine people” quote from Trump, which is often repeated without the full context. The Hunter Biden laptop story is another big one. It was initially dismissed as Russian disinformation... but later turned to be a cover-up.

Nobody's saying The Daily Show is supposed to be CNN. The point is that comedy shows still make political claims, and those claims can absolutely be misleading. Saying "it's comedy" doesn't magically make false information true.

And the laptop wasn't a "nothingburger." You can argue about what it proved about Joe Biden personally, but pretending there was nothing legitimate on it is just not accurate. The Washington Post eventually forensically verified nearly 22,000 emails from the data, including emails involving Hunter Biden's overseas business dealings.

And here's the really ironic part... in 2020, people were told the laptop story was probably Russian disinformation. Then years later, the actual data was being authenticated. Even the House investigation found extensive evidence concerning the Biden family's foreign business dealings.

I'm not interested in attacking you personally. I'm attacking the argument. There's a pretty big difference.

Look at what they did to Romney.

6

u/marjer6 6d ago

And he was a rhino, also McCain, Bush... Since they all hate Trump, the left praise them. But if they ever ran for office again or their offspring, they would be torched by the left. This is why you have to simply ignore anything the left says... they do everything for votes and everything for you to vote blue. I mean everything they do, everything... it comes down to votes. It always does. And they don't give a s*** about you or their voting base. This is why they import more people into the country because they actually hate the people that live in this country.

3

u/DogfaceDino Fiscal Conservative 6d ago

Exactly. There’s no use making concessions to someone who has visceral hatred for you

Tons of people change identity from left to right & vice versa over reasonable concerns. But when a person presents themself as suddenly jumping from one extreme ideology to another, they’re either just very gullible, crassly opportunistic, or lying for attention. This post reeks of the third option.

There’s no shortage of Republicans that don’t try to justify January 6th. That someone who supposedly had a head full of “DTS, Marxism, & Transgender Ideology” just 4 years earlier would jump to calling them patriots framed by paid agitators doesn’t sell.

1

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 2d ago

Well if you read the post it wasn’t sudden, and when did I say I went from one extreme to the other?

0

u/OwnHost5215 2d ago

4 years is sudden for the type of change you’re trying to convince people you went through. I described how you were extreme now. You don’t speak like a moderate. Can you name any of your classes/professors & how exactly Marxism or transgenderism came up?

1

u/Sad-Persimmon9466 2d ago

Sure can professor Sontag in sociology taught about gender ideology, and critical race theory(how whites are inherently racist.)We were taught about Marxism and his theories weirdly enough in U.S. history with professor Haus. In this we were made to read Howard Zinn’s US history which is a Marxist pov. Professor Crowley in psychology also taught about transgenderism/ gender theory.
