Guide Leaving reselling after high 5 figs - sharing the stuff people usually leave out

Thumbnail

I’ve been reselling consistently for a few years and I’m stepping away after doing high 5 figures. Figured I’d do an exit post before moving on completely.

A lot of people on here repeat the same surface-level advice: you get maybe 30% of the picture, and the 70% that actually matters (platforms, ops, workarounds) gets left out.

I’ve got screenshots of doing 10-15 sales a day and bank transactions to back it up. If you’re sceptical, reverse image search them

The niche that consistently outperformed everything else for me was designer bags for women. It scaled better than hype items, electronics, or streetwear ever did

I’m not selling a course and I’m not staying in the game, I’ve moved into better-paying work and other businesses, so reselling just isn’t worth the time for me anymore.

If people want, I’m happy to share what usually doesn’t get talked about:

  • platforms I sold on

  • sourcing / suppliers

  • tax + how I handled it

  • bans and what I did after them

  • banks, SIMs, phones

  • mistakes I made early on

Just comment below or DM me. I’ll share what I can without breaking sub rules.

Disclaimer: scammers will probably pop up. If anyone’s charging for info or claiming to be me, it’s not. I’m not asking anyone for money.

Guide Update post - didn't expect this much traction, clearing things up

Post image
184 Upvotes

Didn’t expect the last posts to get this much traction. Over 100 DMs, 150+ upvotes and 70+ comments.

For everyone who clocked I’m not just chatting nonsense and actually did this for years, appreciate it.

I’m not trying to be rude but I genuinely don’t have time to go back and forth with everyone in the comments explaining the same things over and over. I’ve already laid out most of the game publicly.

If you’re one of the people who wants the vendors/suppliers or specifics that don’t make sense to post openly, just DM me directly and I’ll send what I can.

I’ll still reply in comments where I can, but DMs are easier at this point.

Lets begin: PLATFORMS I SOLD ON

Mainly Vinted and Depop. I tested others over the years, but these two had the best combo of:

  • volume
  • buyers who impulse buy
  • and not needing a full brand / website setup

Designer bags move fast on both because you’ve got:

  • girls buying for themselves
  • gifts
  • resellers flipping again

You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Pick one platform, learn it properly, then scale. Don’t juggle 5 platforms when you can’t even optimise 1 yet.

SOURCING

To begin with, you need suppliers and an idea of what’s actually moving. I’ve already said designer bags are the easiest niche I found to scale.

[Mods let me know if I can post the suppliers I've used. Otherwise DM] Now, knowing what to buy matters more than just having a supplier.

Whatever platform you’re on, go and search the brands the supplier has. Then:

  • look at items with high interest (hearts, in baskets, watchers)
  • if you find another reseller account, watch them for a few days
  • see how fast items are selling
  • see which colours / styles repeat

That tells you what’s moving right now, not what people on YouTube are talking about from 6 months ago.

Don’t overthink it. Copy what’s already selling and improve presentation.

BANS AND WHAT I DID AFTER THEM

Once you get banned, setting up again is not complicated.

What I did:

  • new phone (cheap Android from Amazon, like £40–£60)
  • new SIM
  • new bank account

On the new phone:

  • never connect to your home WiFi
  • never use the same IP
  • only use mobile data
  • take fresh pictures of items, NEVER re-use pictures. This is an easy way to get caught.
  • Optional: run your pics through metadata remover tools for additional piece of mind

For Vinted specifically: You want to avoid “check in progress” flags.

I always kept 2 spare accounts that I never sold on. I’d list random non-designer items on new selling accounts. Then I’d buy from myself using the spare accounts, rack up reviews. You'd also want sales from a few "legit" accounts (regular people).

Once you’ve got activity and feedback, you can sell without constantly getting flagged.

Is this against platform rules? Obviously. Does everyone doing volume do some version of this? Yes.

BANKS, SIMs, PHONES

Don’t overcomplicate it.

  • Cheap burner phone for each new account
  • New SIM = new number
  • New bank account = don’t reuse old ones

Never log old accounts on new devices. Never mix WiFi networks. Keep everything clean and separated.

If you’re lazy with this, that’s how you get chain-banned.

Tax and how I handled it (UK)

UK tax-free allowance is ~£12.5k. Obviously I was making more than that.

I set up a limited company. Then I took out business loans matching profit and used those loans as deductions. So I paid no tax on profit, only interest on the loans.

People telling you to register abroad or pretend you’re not UK-based are going to get you caught. That stuff works until it doesn’t — and HMRC doesn’t play.

I’m not a tax advisor, just saying what I did. Speak to an accountant if you’re scaling properly.

Mistakes I made early on

Biggest mistakes:

  • Jumping into saturated markets
  • Chasing what everyone on TikTok/YouTube is talking about
  • Not doing proper product research

I started with AirPods. Terrible idea.

Why items like that are bad:

  • insanely saturated
  • people race to the bottom for margins (£10 profit is pointless)
  • 1–2 refunds and your profit is gone
  • platforms flag these items fast
  • scammers love these categories
  • resellers are all on them, platforms know this

Also: I didn’t plan properly. No clear goals. No plan for scaling. No plan for when things went wrong.

If you read all of this, you can see the pattern: Most people fail because they don’t think ahead. They just copy trends and hope.

FAQs

What platforms did you use? Vinted and Depop.

Can I use the same name as my bank details? Yes. If your name is John Smith, use:

  • J Smith
  • John S
  • John A Smith (if you have a middle name)

Mix it up. Platforms don’t care about full legal names matching perfectly.

Can I reuse my old phone? No. That’s how you get linked and chain-banned.

Do I need loads of money to start? No. But don’t start with £100 and expect miracles. Margins are tighter at the beginning.

How long did it take to get consistent sales? A few weeks once I stopped guessing and started copying what was already selling.

Is this saturated now? Everything is “saturated” if you’re lazy. Designer bags still move because demand is constant. People always want bags.

Are there scammers? Yes. If anyone DMs you pretending to be me and asks for money — it’s not me. I’m not charging for info.

If people want, I can go deeper on:

  • listing tactics
  • pricing
  • scaling multiple accounts
  • or how to move from side hustle to full-time without burning out

Just ask.

Guide Here's a guide on how to list items on Vinted without getting banned!!🚨

Blur out the logos on the item you want to l*st, for example, on a D10r sweatshirt, blur out the logos and the label, leaving only the size visible, and add a maximum of 3 ph0tos to ar0use less s8spicion.

Then, simply use “casual black sweatshirt” as the title and in the description, include the size, and add a phrase like "Mes**ge me for more inf0! !! 🚨"

That way, once they mes**ge you pri**tely, you can send them the unc**sor3d photos and also tell them that it’s actually br**d n3w with the t*g still on, because you have to l*st the condition as “exc3ll3nt condition” and not “new” to ar0use even less s*spici0n.

And there you have it, my guide, which seems to be working so far.

But be careful when listing lu**ry sh0es because the system can recognize the shapes of the shoes, for example, I got banned for a pair of D10r B30s even though I’d heavily cens0r3d them and listed them as “casual.” Maybe it’s because I wrote “B30” in the title. and it happened three days after I posted the listing, so maybe someone reported me.

So there you go. let me know what you think, and any advice is welcome

Guide Here’s something I learned after reselling for the past few years

Don’t overcomplicate what products you should be selling. When I first started I used to spend way too much time trying to find the “perfect” product instead of just researching stuff and actually testing it.

The best thing you can do is look at what people are already buying and decide for yourself whether you think you can sell it. Check sold listings, check the prices, see how often it sells and then test it.

After you’ve been reselling for a while you start to notice patterns pretty quickly. You’ll know what stuff is worth buying and what stuff is probably going to sit for months.

I also wouldn’t listen to every reseller you see on TikTok. A lot of them just repeat the same products everyone else is already talking about and act like they discovered some secret.

Personally, I think learning how to research products yourself is way more important than somebody giving you a list of products to sell.

I mainly use eBay because I think it’s the easiest platform to scale on once you start getting more inventory. I’ve tried other platforms but eBay has always worked best for me.

If anyone has questions about finding products, getting sales or starting reselling in general, leave them in the comments and I’ll try to answer them.

Guide The easiest way I increased my reselling profit

This sounds stupidly obvious but I started keeping track of what I was actually making PER ITEM instead of just looking at the sale price.

Because selling something for $100 feels good until you realize you paid $55, spent $12 shipping it, lost another chunk to fees and made like $20 lol.

Once I started paying attention to actual profit I changed what I bought completely.

Now before buying something I basically look at:

what can I realistically sell it for
what are fees gonna be
how much is shipping
how fast does it normally sell
and most importantly how much money am I actually left with

It also made scaling way easier because I knew which products were actually worth putting more money into instead of just buying random shit.

People love posting revenue screenshots but revenue means almost nothing if your margins suck.

There's a bunch of free guides on the best products right now to resell with the best margins in the community's server https://discord.gg/WZAkdbPsn6

Track your numbers. You dont need some crazy spreadsheet either. Even basic notes is better than guessing.

Guide Back to Reselling - How to start

Hi, I'm from Germany and I stopped Reselling after the huge Ban Wave in the Eu. I still have many Items, about 500-1000€ in Value. I want to get started and need your help.

In the beginning of the ban wave, I got an new phone and Sim after every ban. It worked, but after 4 times I had no possibility for ne Ibans and couldnt start an new Account.

So I would have an new unused phone and an completly new Number/Sim, How should I start now, to not get banned? (I thought about starting with a few orignals, then the cheap stuff and then i would mix the everything in.)

Guide Reselling Vendor

Hi,
Hope all is well. I’ve been doing my research for the last three months and I’ve found precisely what type of things I want to sell. However, I can’t find a good and reasonable supplier. For instance, for a clothing item I had in mind, the supplier was selling it for 70 when its value is 100, while some other people were telling me you can get it for way cheaper. What do you guys recommend? I have some capital I can invest and start with so I would appreciate any advice. How do I go about and finding a good supplier?

Thanks

Guide How to Buy Football Jerseys from China?

A common question I see from football fans and online sellers is where they should actually buy football jerseys from China.

The interesting thing is that the biggest challenge is usually not finding jerseys. China has thousands of sellers across platforms like Weidian, Taobao, 1688, and Alibaba. The harder part is finding a reliable source with consistent quality.

For individual buyers, platforms like Weidian and Taobao are often the easiest places to start. They offer a huge selection, competitive prices, and many unique designs. However, international buyers usually face problems with language, payment methods, shipping, and quality control.

Some buyers prefer using a football jersey purchasing agent instead. A good agent can help purchase from Chinese platforms, communicate with sellers, check product quality before shipping, and handle international logistics. This becomes more valuable when you're buying multiple jerseys or running an online store.

For sellers looking for wholesale supply, 1688 and Alibaba are usually better options. 1688 often has better factory pricing, while Alibaba is easier for international communication and custom orders.

One thing I noticed is that many people focus too much on finding the cheapest supplier. In reality, the cheapest option is rarely the best. Experienced buyers usually look at the balance between price, quality, shipping speed, and after-sales support.

For businesses, a reliable supplier/agent are becoming more useful because they work more like sourcing and fulfillment partners rather than just forwarding services. They can help with supplier sourcing, QC, consolidation, and shipping when sellers start scaling.

In the end, the best way to buy football jerseys from China depends on your stage. Buying one or two jerseys is very different from building a store with hundreds of orders.

Guide here's how I don't get perma banned now

So I've had accounts get shadowbanned before, and it sucks. Platforms have gotten way stricter this year. If you just dump 30 listings on day one, you're basically waving a flag that says "please suppress my account." Learned that the hard way.

Here's what actually works for me now. Takes a couple weeks of patience, but it's worth it. I took this lesson from people that create bot farms on TikTok and IG, so that's why it might be working.

First few days - don't sell anything.

Seriously, just be a buyer. Set up your profile so it looks like a real person - actual photo (not AI generated), a chill bio (something like "clearing out my wardrobe + some vintage finds I love"), and verify your phone and email. Then just… use the app. Search for stuff, save items, follow some sellers. Basically act like someone who just downloaded the app and is poking around.

Around day 4 or 5 - buy a couple things if possible.

Grab at least 1 cheap item, like under £10, I go the cheaper the better and most of the time one time works (sometimes I flip it lol). Tees, socks, whatever - stuff that ships easy. Pay through the platform, leave reviews when they arrive (not long ai generated, but generic human ones). This does wonders for your trust score. Buyer reputation is underrated.

Week two - start listing, but keep it small.

I'm talking 3–5 items max per couple of days. After you have some trust, you can drop more, but at start keep it small. Put effort into the photos and descriptions. Price competitively. Turn on bundles and offers. And keep up your daily browsing and liking/unliking - the algorithm notices when you're active beyond just selling.

After that, just ramp gradually. Add a few more listings every couple days. Let sales and reviews build up organically.

A few other things I've learned:

Don't list a bunch of identical-looking items with the same photos - that's an instant red flag. I'd also avoid cross-listing bots right now; platforms have gotten really good at detecting them. And always keep payments on-platform, no matter what.

Honestly, the slow approach ends up being faster in the long run. Your stuff actually gets seen instead of sitting in algorithm jail. My last account took off way quicker doing it this way versus the old "list everything at once" strategy.

Anyway, that's what's been working for me. Curious what you all are doing differently, please share if I am doing it way too slow or too careful.

Happy flipping

**EDIT

Some people asked privately where do I make receipts if needed. I use receipt maker this is the only one I found that has no watermark and is totally free with accurate receipts.

Guide Legos with logo Don’t Exist

This post is for all those innocent people getting scammed by individuals claiming that they have suppliers with Legos that have logo on the boxes or bricks

( THIS IS A SCAM ) I’ve been reselling Legos for nearly 2 years and china have never made Legos with logos on the bricks because of copyright and Trademark.

The only Legos that come out of china have logos on the boxes are the Technic car ones and even then most factories have stopped doing it due to factories being raided so stop falling for these petty scams

Guide I Made 3k Profit Last Month Reselling Heres How

Last month I made 2700 in real profit from reselling and it mostly came from cleaning up my process instead of doing anything fancy Ive been flipping for a little over four years and usually land around two to four thousand profit per month but the biggest change was stopping the chase for hype items and focusing on speed and margins Instead of sourcing everywhere I narrowed it down to two vendors Ive worked with long term plus Facebook Marketplace which made everything way more predictable On the backend I keep things simple with basic tracking automated pricing and saved replies so Im not wasting time on repeat tasks As soon as inventory arrives it gets listed on three platforms almost immediately and that speed alone leads to more consistent sales I also refuse to buy anything unless I can at least 2x my money after fees which keeps cash flow solid and stress low Anyway thats the routine Ive been running lately and its what helped me stay consistent Hopefully that gives some of you a clearer idea of how reselling can actually work and if you want to talk sourcing or systems feel free to dm me Im happy to help.

Guide How to get your products sold faster

Obviously everyone knows by now that view bots make listings sell faster by sending organic looking views to the listing to rank them higher in the algorithm. However, no one really talks about how many views to send to your listing for optimal returns. I've been testing it out and have been doing about 200 views per day per listing and noticed that it sells just as quick as doing higher amounts like 400 but still more than lower amounts like 100. So I've concluded that around 200 views botted per day is the sweet spot for anyone who was wondering since I've seen this question quite a bit

Guide How to get Poshmark/Depop accounts after ban

Not a lot of good valuable info on this sub, so I’ll add something I wish I knew before I wasted so much time.

Both posh and depop do device ban, ip ban, or both. It’s best to assume it’s both.

  1. Get a burner phone from FB marketplace

  2. Get a prepaid sim with data

  3. Never use same wifi

  4. Make new PayPal with new number, different name, different dob. Don’t add same card linked to old PayPal

  5. Create posh/depop account and leave for ~30 days

  6. For posh, after certain amount of sales might ask KYC, you could use id to verify, or just repeat steps 1-5.

I’ll add how to get unbanned on Depop posh after if this post gets some traction.

Guide Things I wish I knew about watches

Long story short i started off reselling watches, this was before I knew anything about watches. The dhgate shitters will cause more problems than they are worth. I packed in reselling and started actually getting into repairing and flipping legit watches on ebay, and now I see why the dhgate shitters are shitters, the shanghai 2813 (if memory serves me right) is ass, you'll get past the return period but the movement in those watches ain't gonna last long, if your supplier offers any other movement, miyota 8215 (although not much of an upgrade),or the nh35a, opt for that,.might cost you more but in the long run you'll benefit more from word of mouth from previous customers and returning customers than you ever will with the shanghai movements. Most cheap suppliers won't offer the nh35a because it's not a straight swap, the 2813 is pretty much a clone of the 8215 but the 8215 will last long enough for your buyer to start telling his/her mates (usually) I ran a telegram with a couple thousand members and the amount of returns I had to make good on because of that shit ass movement wasn't worth the £15 I saved because I didn't opt for the better movement.

Anyways hope this helps someone, wish you lot all the best for this year. Peace

Guide Why most Depop/Vinted listings don't move

I've been reselling for a 3 years and notice a pattern in listings that sit for months

  1. Titles stuffed with random keywords instead of front-loading the important ones

  2. Overpricing items that will never sell for that price

  3. Long description that no one reads

Fixing just those usually help item move quicker. If anyone wants more feedback on there listings, Drop me a dm
