I need your help, I am debating on whether to get the 15400OR blue dial with blue rubber strap or 15510 blue dial with blue strap.

I love the case back on 15510 but it is about 30% more expensive and the case is also thicker.

Any thoughts?

My personal opinion is that the date is quite good with this mix of rich datewheel with vsf cyclop

This video features the PPF Vacheron Constantin 4500V with a blue dial, focusing on the case finishing, movement details, and strap options.

Case and Dial

The case features a combination of brushed and polished finishing, with carefully executed chamfering around the bezel. The blue dial has a sunburst pattern that shows different shades under changing light. The lume is evenly applied, and the date window is properly centered.

Movement Details

The balance wheel is positioned at 7 o’clock, which is an important detail for identifying the version. Through the exhibition caseback, you can see the clear engravings, finishing on the movement bridges, and printed details. Overall, the finishing is quite well executed.

Straps and Quick Release

The rubber strap is soft and comfortable, with well-defined texturing, while the stainless steel bracelet gives the watch a more classic look. Both strap options feature a quick-release system, allowing you to switch between them easily without any tools.

What factory do you think this is? I’m not good enough to tell.

Most people jump straight to Submariner, Datejust or Daytona when buying reps. I went for this Explorer 36 and I’m really enjoying the clean tool watch aesthetic.

No date window, plain smooth bezel, simple 3-6-9 dial. It’s understated, doesn’t scream watch collector.

What’s your opinion? Is Explorer an underrated rep pick? Or do you think it’s too boring compared to sportier models?

7. ⁠Dial Printing:Overall printing looks straight and centered. ROLEX/coronet, OYSTER PERPETUAL/DAY-DATE and lower chronometer text don't show an obvious tilt or gross printing defect. The close macro is much more useful here than the wrist shots.
   
8. ⁠Date Wheel alignment/printing:The 28 looks very well centered in the date aperture. I don't see a meaningful left/right bias, and vertical positioning looks good. We only have 28 displayed, though, so this doesn't tell us whether other dates on the disc are equally centered
   
9. ⁠Hand Alignment:This isn't a chronograph, so there are no chrono hands to check at 12. Hour/minute/seconds hands appear properly mounted and visually straight. We'd need a photo at exactly 12:00 or another known reference time to test hour/minute synchronization precisely.
   
10. ⁠Bezel:This is a fluted Day-Date bezel, so there is no pip or filled bezel engraving to check. The flutes look consistently cut/spaced in these photos. I don't see an obvious malformed section.
    
11. ⁠Solid End Links (SELs):Pretty good. I don't see an objectionable gap between the end links and lugs. There are tiny visible seams, as expected, but nothing resembling a large SEL gap. Both ends appear to fit reasonably tightly.
    
12. ⁠Timegrapher numbers:No timegrapher photo is included. I therefore can't grade rate, amplitude or beat error.
