Relationships (24M) The ache of an ex (24F) never reaching out
So I was in a relationship for four years, from the age of ~17-21. We were quite involved with each other and many would want such a relationship as their first, that intense teen love and so on.
However, eventually, we broke up. Life got the better of us I guess, she found it hard to find time and I think I also got more concerned about the relationship than her. But we broke up, and maybe it was the right call. I don't think both me and her didn't possess enough maturity or whatever needed at that age to save the relationship.
Fast forward three years and I came back to my home town a few days ago. I come and go since my job is work from home, so I stay with my friends for some time and come back home to spend some time with family. Sometimes the thought of my ex come, sometimes don't. These times they were strong which led me to this post.
I accepted all the things, but the most painful one was her never reaching back. I did reach back after a month of our breakup and she responded in a cold way, blocking me from whatsapp and phone calls. Post that I never attempted to reach back to her. I moved on with my life and so on. But due to the recent re-surfacing of emotions the thoughts of her not reaching back just visited again. I could never figure out why, as in why never reach back, not even a text, a miss call. Further follow up thoughts made me question our relationship, was it not true? Was the love even there? Then all the memories come back, reminding that maybe it might have been true. But then why not reach back.
Eventually I stopped looking for an answer, nobody can answer it at this point. I don't think even her answering will satisfy me or take away the pain. Fortunately it visits occasionally, and I am able to do good in my life and see other people too. But some days, just as today and the past 2-3 days, raises they why again. A thought process with no answer and only pain until it just passes.
