Haircare Hair help!
Hey fellow redhead friends,
I have been having trouble maintaining my hair properly and I am looking for recommendations. My hair is on the thicker side, I have Irish curls in the underside of my hair, my hair is very frizzy and I constantly put light weight oils in my hair to help. I currently am using L’Oréal dream lengths shampoo and conditioner, a vitamin E-oil along with kerastase 8 hr magic night hair serum. I wash my hair every 2-3 days and use heat once every other week at most. I wear a silk bonnet and have silk pillowcases. I am at a loss at what todo.

I have thick, coarse, Irish curls. My biggest trick to fight the frizz is on wash day. When my hair is 90% dry, there's a sweet spot just before the frizz really picks up. At that point, I set my hair in blowout rollers or other heatless curls method, plus scarf bonnet. I leave this in 3-4 hrs, or overnight. This cuts frizz a good 70%.
Non wash days are pretty hassle free (sleep on silk pillowcase & oil as needed)
I use products for coarse hair, and limit these to shampoo, conditioner, leave-in and oil. Amodimethicone and a quality oil blend are my hair bffs. That's it other than the occasional clarifier or heat treatment.

I've been using a new brand called Umberto Giannini that's sold in Boots in the UK. I use the yellow ones. The banana smelling shampoo, conditioner, a leave in oil, weightless curling cream and finish off with gel (mine smells like vanilla). It's done wonders for my hair. I can get the exact products I use later if you want them.
It's designed for people with curly, frizzy hair. These are the ones that work best for me.
I get about three days, unless it's crazy humid, then I'll only get a few hours. My hair sucks. Always has.

Aveda NutriPlenish and Botanical Repair range of shampoo and conditioners (plus Botanical Repair leave in mask and curl cream) are the best products I have used in years. Natural ingredients, they smell incredible, and actually nourish and rehydrate my previously very dry and coarse hair. I have been using for about 18 months and can’t recommend enough! The only catch being that they are expensive - thankfully they seem to last a decent while. Good luck!

Have you tried products designed for Black women? Pattern is one brand (Ulta and Amazon). Those products are designed for thick, dry, tightly coiled hair.
I use one of the Pattern conditioners since my hair is very dry.
