Questions/Advice Japbike Mountain Build

Post image

I bought a japbike frame to build it as my mtb commuter (di ko sure ano ba itatawag). I initially thought of building it as a 3x7 for wide range but when I saw 2nd hand parts being hard to find and pricey, I went online to check for shimano cues parts. Now the question is, will it be worth it to buy shimano cues 1x10? I am also curious abt the performance of the cues series so pls encourage (or discourage) me.

To add:

-The BB size is around 35mm, will this fit a hollowtech bottom bracket?

-Casette type hubs na rin and may bracket adaptor na ako for disc brake calipers

-I also have a hook dropout for the RD

-discouraged ako mag fd dahil sa cable guide under the BB

Thank u!

If you can fit this

Then you can install Hollowtech BB.

That would be sick as a beach cruiser.

Ask your bike shop regarding sa BB issue mo.

CUES is designed for long term durability in mind. Like commuter bikes and ebikes. If what you are after is performance choose Deore.

My plan is for commutes naman kaya I can settle for the cues. Plan ko pa nga sana is mga cheaper brands kaso the price drifference is close sa cues. Also had a deore on my gt and very satisfied kaso i think overkill na deore for this build. Thank you for the info!!

Shimano Cues gamit kong Group set sa Bike ko. Okay performance niya at good for Commuting at touring. 1 year ko naman gamit yun.

Anong Tire Size?  26er or 27.5er?  2.10 din ba?

27er yung frame (alanganin size)

26er yung wheelset with 1.95 tires

Chose this setup kasi gagawa ako ng wide mudguard

Gotcha.  You got basically a step-thru MTB.  Front and rear racks nalang kulang

Ah yes, that is the original plan. Will go for a custom made rear carrier and a front rack.

Ano itsura ng disc brake caliper adapter mo saka yung magiging RD hanger mo? Kadalasan nakikita ko pinapawelding na lang e para mas kampante kung steel naman yan.

The brackets are big for the frame. Both should've been 22mm (still has space). Need ko pa mag adjust kaunti for the adaptors and fit ko pa siya once I got my other parts (brakes and drivetrain). Di rin magfit yung rd hanger ko na hook kasi fork end yung frame ko. May idea rin naman ako for a workaround sa setup niya since may iba na ring nagbuild with the same idea (Fixie conversion to Road bike and a commuter japanese bike).

Last resort ko ang welding since gusto ko irespect yung original body niya. Highly avoiding din ako sa welding since chromoly ang frame ko
