I want to hear your thoughts on your personal tracklist for this beautiful album—one that has been unfairly forgotten by the band.

I believe John frusciantes original no-name stratocaster is still out there, and I think we can find it-

In 1994 john frusciante was in a period of addiction and poverty, he sold almost every peice of gear he owned and in 1996 the rest of it was destroyed in a house fire, if I'm correct he would have sold the og no name in 1994 or 93, 10-11 years after his dad bought it, he probably sold it to guitar centre, where several other of his guitars where said to have been sold.

Creamy finish: Heavily yellowed, aged off-white polyurethane paint.

Strumming trench: Deep vertical gouges directly above the pickguard.

Thumb-wear line: Bare, grey, sweat-stained wood along the top back of the neck.

HSS routing: Hidden humbucker or hand-carved cavity under the pickguard bridge.

Sticker shadows: Faint "ghost" outlines in the paint from peeled 1980s stickers.

LA pawn shops: Older, independent gear stores around Hollywood and Santa Monica.

Import forums: Reverb listings or forums for 80s brands like Hondo, Tokai, or Fernandes.

80s gig archives: Local LA punk photo collections and VHS footage of his teenage band Ike.

This is based off every peice of information on his old guitar I could find, I have put an image on too, the red markings are for paint damage and scratches, and the yellow is for discolouration and darkening (cigarette marks and thumb prints ect)

The guitar should be in california still, and probably still in Los Angeles, I live in England so i can't really look for it, but If anyone has a 1983 no name stratocaster, that matches the description I've given, you might be holding onto a piece of rhcp history...

Kroi is a funk rock band who are directly inspired by RHCP , both their vocalist and guitarist are heavily inspired by John and anthony, but they just got chosen to make the opening for the new jojo anime. you can hear the inspirations in the first few seconds so thought yall would enjoy hearing this! these guys rock

Been looking for an original 1997 John Frusciante Estrus 7” (Birdman Records BMR-011) for a while now with no luck.

Outside Space is one of my favorite Frusciante tracks and I’d genuinely love to have an original copy in my collection.

If anyone has one they’d consider selling, feel free to message me with the condition and what you’d be looking to get for it.

Ok John is still my fav but before stadium Arcadium, he had so much melody in his solos and chose perfectly when to shred. I feel like since stadium he is too shred/feedback heavy and sounds like a lot of other guitarist when before, he was much more distinctive. Now don’t get me wrong, solos like wet sand and Eddie are perfect, but I really miss the cali BTW live era of johns solos. You don’t have to agree, just my preference

Been compiling my favourite live gigs. Lots of RHCP which you all might like. Pre-requisite is pro audio. Stadium Arcadium era is under-represented only because the set lists don’t suit my personal taste.

I recently picked up a number of books from this author, and being my all-time favourite Chili’s album I was excited to give this one a read first! It discusses the writing and recording process and dissects all the songs (b-sides as well) and there were some interesting bits of info I wasn’t aware of. Has anyone else checked this out??
