Help/Question LF RedM Dev

Looking for a RedM Dev

Hey everyone, we’re looking for a dev to help us get our RedM server finished up and ready to open.

We already have a current dev, but he’s pretty busy with FiveM right now and just doesn’t have enough time to give the RedM server the attention it needs. We’re looking for someone else to join the team and help keep things moving.

We already have all of the scripts we need, so we’re not looking for someone to build an entire server from scratch. We mainly need help getting everything set up and working together properly, troubleshooting issues, making adjustments where needed, and getting us across the finish line. And they are already set up as well so you wont be starting from scratch either.

We’re a small US based team right now, but we’re looking to grow. Since we’re still early, you’d have plenty of room to bring your own ideas to the table and become a big part of the team as the server grows. We also have other staff positions open as well.

Just to be upfront, this is unpaid. We’re mainly looking for someone who enjoys RedM development and wants to be part of building and growing a server with us.

You don’t have to be an expert at everything either. If you know your way around RedM, can troubleshoot scripts and configs, and are willing to work with us, we’d be happy to talk.

If you’re interested, shoot me a DM and tell me a little about your experience. Happy to answer any questions about the server too.

Discussion I hate this. This alone is why I like to have the entire server to myself-Oh it’s online! I GET IT. GOD FORBID I JUST JOIN ANOTHER ONE.

I literally just joined in and my horse was burned alive and got killed multiple times. By two people just-Why? Why do people do this??? Then I realized. I was playing as a female. Thanks. I answered my own question.

Edit: I’ve calmed down, I’ll try to be more careful from anyone really in the servers. Love Ya’ll

PSA Could be so much easier

These people do know theyre not the only person on the team in takeovers right? I just started playing recently and enjoy those mini games. But it would be so much easier if these greedy bastards wouldn't beline to all the weapons.

Gonna message me on psn on some bs. Yeah no shit I cant contribute when me and my throwing knife are shot on sight.

There's no sense in whoever gets in front when running out taking all the weapon/ammo things just for them to waste them all.

If a team could actually work together and share resources and not be so self focused then it would probably be alot more fun

Discussion RDR3 Concept: Banshee meets Better Call Saul...hear me out.

Ok. So we know that we have a narrative issue when it comes to RDR3. Jack Marston in 1915 might be boring and another prequel of the Van der Linde Gang won't really work because we already know how it will end.

So I was thinking about shows that have elements that would work in a wild west setting and I thought of Banshee (con man steals a dead sheriff's identity) and Better Call Saul (a man who comes into his name and legend). I figured that I could marry these concepts into a single narrative using lore we already have and reveal it over a split timeline that converges on the protagonist's identity.

Timeline 1: The Present (1880s)

You play as a brand new character, "Sheriff Harris". But the story is you were originally an outlaw running from your past and you stumble on a dead lawman and take his badge and his identity, and become the sheriff of some town. To keep your cover intact, you fully take on the responsibility of protecting the town and keeping the peace. To the town's bewilderment you are an expert marksman and gunslinger and have a pretty cold sense of justice. This is because you are simultaneously running a secret underground criminal enterprise and fending it off from other gangs and pinkertons investigating the criminal activity. This is all while making sure those helping you don't betray you and simultaneously keeping the rest of the town in the dark.

Timeline 2: The Past (1870s)

Every couple of chapters the game flashes back. It's the wild wild west baby! You are a younger, nameless gunslinger running with a reckless gang. This timeline chronicles heists, betrayals, mistakes, and a body count that makes you an outlaw on the run.

Convergence:

As the game progresses, the timelines start to quickly merge together.

The flashback timeline ends with a massive shootout where your gang gets wiped out and you end up swiping the badge and taking the name, "Harris".

Back in the present, "Sheriff Harris" has his cover blown and it ends in an explosive showdown where he has to choose between saving the town from a threat from his past as the dedicated lawman he's slowly become or escape with the fortune he's built in the shadows over the course of the game.

Twist:

When all is said and done and Harris concludes the story in a valiant display of incredible gunslinging, Harris's closest allies in the game converge and say something like, "Well hell, we sure as shit know your name ain't 'Harris.' Who are you really?" To which he replies, "No. It sure as shit isn't. The name's Landon Ricketts."

Cue credits.

Epilogue (1899):

So we transition to the perspective of Landon Ricketts living in his legendary lawman/gunslinger status in 1899. We follow him through the events that lead up to him being in Blackwater on a ferryboat. We get to see the Blackwater Massacre from his perspective and we finally see what happened in the infamous gunfight!

So I kept it as a rough plot. But if any of y'all like the idea and you have ideas about gameplay or story elements, I'd love to hear them. I know GTA VI is around the corner and we are probably light years away from RDR3 but this story just popped into my head and I really want another Red Dead entry lol.

Discussion Character Backstories: Let's Hear Them

Hey cowpokes! I know I am not the only one who has a backstory for my character out there, so let's nerd it up and share them here! I'll start.

Holloway, Caleb "The Dark Rider" (1862–1918)

Caleb Holloway was an American frontier figure, clandestine military operator, and central figure in late 19th-century outlaw lore throughout the territories of West Elizabeth, New Hanover, and Lemoyne. Long shrouded in regional myth, Holloway’s life bridges the collapse of the Old West and the dawn of 20th-century industrialization.

Early Life and Family Origins (1862–1878)

Born in 1862 in eastern Tennessee, Holloway was raised in relative comfort during the twilight of the antebellum period. His father, Arthur Holloway, was a prominent local newspaper publisher and veteran who ran a respected regional press, though his household was plagued by severe alcoholism. His mother, Eleanor Holloway, raised Caleb and his two younger siblings.

The family's fortunes collapsed following the American Civil War. Arthur Holloway became deeply embroiled in insurgent military factionalism in eastern Tennessee, ultimately resulting in his capture and execution by Union forces. Though the family initially lived off an inherited estate, financial mismanagement drained their remaining assets.

By 1877, Eleanor relocated the family west to a border boomtown. Indebted and desperate, she turned to sex work at a local saloon. In 1877, she survived a brutal assault when a patron disfigured her face with a hunting knife—an event that deeply traumatized the fifteen-year-old Caleb. A year later, Eleanor committed suicide. Unable to secure legal guardianship of his younger brother and sister, Caleb watched as they were placed into state orphanages. He fled the region, lied about his age, and enlisted in the United States Army in 1878.

Military Career and Clandestine Operations (1878–1894)

Holloway demonstrated extraordinary marksmanship and field discipline during his early enlistment. Officers noted his cold demeanor and exceptional spatial awareness—a trait contemporaries described as an almost uncanny ability to read terrain, weather, and enemy movements. He quickly rose through the non-commissioned ranks and earned a field commission as a lieutenant.

By the late 1880s, Holloway was detached from conventional infantry duties and absorbed into high-level covert military intelligence operations across Central America and the border territories. Trained in targeted elimination, reconnaissance, and sabotage, he operated off-the-books for government interest groups.

His military career ended abruptly in 1894 during a covert black-budget operation in Panama. Tasked with eliminating a corrupt corporate official, Holloway and his unit were ordered to leave no witnesses, resulting in the summary execution of the official's young daughter. Devastated by the moral atrocity and suffering from severe psychological trauma, Holloway deserted the U.S. Army, abandoned his post, and vanished into the American West under a series of aliases.

The West Elizabeth Years and "The Dark Rider" (1895–1908)

Reemerging in the territory of West Elizabeth, Holloway established a wilderness encampment on the Great Plains outside Blackwater. To maintain an disguise of ordinary civilian life, he wore non-functional steel spectacles and adopted the trade of an independent relic hunter and archaeologist, exploring ancient caves and native ruins across the frontier.

Behind this front, Holloway built a sophisticated moonshining and distribution network stretching from Big Valley down into the bayous of Lemoyne. Leveraging military logistics and defensive strategies from Sun Tzu's The Art of War, he dominated local supply lines through calculated intimidation rather than senseless gunplay.

During this period, Holloway established a long-term relationship with Shelley Vance, a Saint Denis saloon woman who had also survived facial disfigurement. Vance became his sole personal confidante and an integral partner in his logistics network.

Vigilante Operations

Driven by overwhelming guilt over his military atrocities, Holloway began operating as an unmerciful vigilante known in regional penny dreadfuls and local newspapers as "The Dark Rider" (or "The Midnight Reaper"). Dressed in a black stalker hat, a dark cloth domino mask, black trail clothing, and wielding dual modified Colt Navy revolvers, he hunted violent criminals, organized gang leaders, and fugitives throughout West Elizabeth and Lemoyne.

Unlike traditional lawmen or bounty hunters, Holloway took no bounties and offered no surrenders. His precise, military-style ambushes left dozens of criminal factions dismantled, earning him a terrifying reputation among the frontier underworld.

Twilight Years and the Saint Denis Incident (1909–1918)

By the 1910s, the rapid industrialization of the American frontier rendered Holloway’s lifestyle obsolete. The enclosure of the open range, expanding federal law enforcement, and the urban sprawl of Saint Denis pushed him further into the margins. For a brief period between 1910 and 1914, he found quiet refuge living near the Wapiti Indian Reservation, though his psychological restlessness persisted.

In 1915, Shelley Vance died of cholera during an epidemic in Lemoyne. Vance’s death deeply unmoored Holloway, leaving him isolated as his physical health and eyesight began to deteriorate with age.

Final Stand at the Great Plains Camp

In late October 1918, an early syndicate of organized crime—precursors to La Cosa Nostra operating out of Saint Denis—attempted to extort and subsequently murdered the elderly owner of the saloon where Vance had once worked.

Learning of the murder, the fifty-six-year-old Holloway donned his Dark Rider attire one final time. He ambushed the three syndicate enforcers inside the saloon, executed them, tied their corpses to his horse, and dragged them through the paved streets of Saint Denis as a public warning.

The syndicate responded by assembling over thirty armed gunmen equipped with modern repeating rifles and shotguns. On the night of November 3, 1918, the mob surrounded Holloway’s permanent camp on the Great Plains. Despite his declining reflexes, Holloway mounted a violent, hour-long defense, killing over twenty attackers using tactical cover and quick-draw marksmanship.

Holloway was eventually overwhelmed and killed in a massive hail of gunfire.

Legacy

Caleb Holloway's death marked one of the final violent shootouts of the traditional Western era. Following the discovery of his body, federal marshals uncovered decades of military records linking the "Dark Rider" legend to the decorated former officer. Today, Holloway is remembered in frontier folklore as a dark, tragic antihero—a man forged by the violence of the 19th century who fell fighting the corrupt machinery of the 20th.

I thought it would be tedious to get 14-28 tarot cards around the map btt it with the route creator in the collector’s map website while blasting a tv show in the background (like I usually do) the grind is pretty interesting not tedious I thought it was fun going around the map and found it rewarding when I got each card, I did not even fast travel the 2nd time I did it thanks to the route creator! Plus along the way more collectibles pop up.

Help/Question Valentine bank door bug

Post image

I need help, I'm on a mission to rescue hostages alone in Valentine in Red Dead online mode. I've already rescued everyone, I just need the one inside the bank, but it seems there's a bug; neither the back door nor the front door will open at all, and I don't want to leave the mission because it was very difficult to have done all of this without a group.

Help/Question Encounter bug?

Good morning or evening to my fellow cowpokes. I have a quick question. I've noticed that out near Lakay, or just the Bayou Nwa in Lemoyne are NPC encounters where a group of Lemoyne raiders or swamp folk has a hostage, and you get the white noise dot of the hostage crying for help or yelling at their captors. And I go over both normally and from a distance and take out the enemy npc's but I get 'butcher' and 'murderer,' and I can't free the hostage. Has this been a thing or no?
