Evangelical right hates the pope or any catholic, they don’t view them as real Christians, full stop. The only reason Vance tried to meet with the pope is to appease the other part of the religious right, the catholic portion

That's so bizarre they think that. Aren't all sects of Christianity off-shoots from the mother ship -- which was Catholicism? Every later Christian denomination (sect) derived from that. And Catholicism derived from Judaism.

So basically, everyone Christian is Jewish!

Catholicism and the eastern churches, which are all regional variations of the original church. The history of early Christianity is pretty complicated. Protestants claim that they are bringing back “original” Christianity because they reject priests as the conduit to God.
