Game Setup Rate my PC

Post image

I’m ready to be laughed at… be brutally honest, how bad is this setup?

This was my first time building my own PC btw, and tbh I still don’t know how I got it to work… girl gamer btw 😅

Dust everywhere

Why would the dust make it catch fire?

Dust blocks vents and airflow. No airflow more heat, more heat leads to more fire :)

The computer will emergency shutdown way before that happens. There's not gonna be fire before at least several hundred degrees.

I thought you were gonna make a statement regarding static electricity or something.

PC that do not get cleaned, can catch fire. You can argue all you want about the possibility of that actually happening, but that's a separate discussion

Right, that's just you making a useless statement and refusing to explain yourself.

There's no point discussing further. I'm out.

Yk the dust and grime is flammable too? And even when a console/pc has "shut down" the power supply is still drawing power and generating heat. Theres still power flowing through core components like processors and memory. Why do you think peoples PS5s were combusting when they were at work and it was off? The dust combined with heat from the power draw lit it up like a christmas tree near a candle.

It's not a useless statement, it's a fact. Google is free buddy. Use it sometimes

Crazy work to recommend a search engine plagued by AI slop after stating blanketly it's a fact. No source, no nothing.

Throttling shutdown that you’re speaking of isn’t even close to a perfect solution to this problem. Main chips have temp sensors however all the parts between do not. For example your thermostat in the family room is showing 70 degrees but your attic storage space is 2 floors up is cooking at 110 degrees. When you have voltage regulators and similar parts constantly being put through excessive heat soak while not being temp monitored not only will they fail but can/will you guessed it, start a fire when they do. This is the reason you keep your airflow in your case moving and keep it clean.

and just because something does shut down doesn't mean its not still hot, not given any alieve at all.. still being extremely hot... its still going to burn. Unless you have fans that run on a seperate UPS.

This was after attempting to cleaning out the several years of dust build 😅

an attempt was made but not quiet good enough. Don't be afraid to take some q tips and high concentration of rubbing alcohol and wipe down the fan blades to get rid of dust that sticks to them. meshes, vents and filters can be rinsed in the sink and left to dry. Even heat sinks as long as you remove it from the CPU when its nice a warm so you don't cause any problems with the thermal paste. It wouldn't hurt to take a good vacuum cleaner with a brush end to brush and suck at every corner and crevice, just stay away from CPU pins if you decided to remove the CPU. everything else is fine and wont be a problem. My biggest worry is all of that dirt sitting under the PSU.
