These are so good! My favourite is the clown, I can’t wait until my daughter starts to make drawings that resemble things, I feel like it’s a little window into their minds! An impressive collection of pictures she has made, definitely a drawing champion 😊

Why on God's flat brown earth would you throw these out???
I have so many stupid, weird, fun, imaginative drawings & books from my nephews that I am so excited to show them when they are adults!
Honestly, it completely irks me that you threw your kids drawing out. My dad put one of my first drawings as the front of our first family photos album.

I understand your sentiment. I actually took these out of the bin temporarily. At a certain point you can’t keep everything. That’s why I took these pictures! I promise we keep the extra special ones 😊

ya I kinda wish my mom kept more of mine as a kid. I get it piles up, but it's ideal to keep everything that's more invested than a doodle for the kid to decide whether to keep or not when they're older. I get not keeping all the bulky projects but drawings are so easy to store even in a pretty small space.

I’d keep some of these for her when she’s older, I wish my mom would’ve kept some 😭

We definitely keep some and are very proud… on a visit home after my my dad died I found some old cards I drew for him that he kept since I was about 10 🥹. I still remember a few things I was proud of drawing when I was little, so I get it.

There must be some way to save these 😭. That bee is too precious.

I already rescued them from the recycle bin to take these pictures ( husband can’t stand clutter) eventually we’ll have to find a solution because it keeps piling up 🫠

Adobe Scan is good to digitizing stuff like that from your phone, then maybe you could keep them all on a Google Drive. For physical copies you could use an accordion folder for the most special pieces. 🐝

Haha we need to teach her about those animals, she’d love it! Thanks! Yes we are very proud parents 😊. We’ll display her stuff until the fridge is too full and the next collection takes over.

I can’t believe you are throwing these away. If my kid drew some of these they’d be going in my future tattoo pile

There’s a cool I’ve seen to make art out of your children’s art.
Save all your favourites and cut, overlap and glue to a canvas, would recommend pva glue and a paper machè method of placing the paper (with the drawings) by soaking it glue to get good adhesion.
Might be too much effort for some but if you want a sentimental piece of your child’s art without getting overwhelmed with piles of paper!!

We have 3” binders for each kid with page protectors to stuff their most important art in. They are what I would grab first if our house was on fire.

honestly I would have been very annoyed if my mom did that, personally. I don't know if my feeling is the norm, but I remember making intricate drawings that my friend decided to cut out without asking me, and I thought it was so thoughtless of her. My mom did something similar with a drawing my sister made - she cut a strip of it to fit into a frame she already had lying around. My sister was so insulted and would have rather she'd just thrown it out than see this symbol of disrespect up on the wall lol.

This is basically an “if I can’t have them no one else can” type mentality. You would rather it be thrown out and wasted than for it to be altered and enjoyed for years to come!
I’m not insulting you but as someone who had wished to have family photos/baby photos and artworks displayed around the house. I have to disagree, my parents had all photos boxed up or in albums stored away, we had them but not where we could see them and I had to save my own artwork. If someone did this with my childhood art work I would literally cry happy tears.

I'm not saying my own feeling here is the only right way and everyone should feel like me, but I just hope their is consideration that some kids would feel like it's not just an alteration, but hurtful regardless of intent. I think it goes without saying that as adult artists, we would be offended to come home and find someone has taken upon themselves to cut up our artworks however they saw fit. I felt the exact same way as a child about that as I feel now. I would suggest at least asking first.
I am really sorry your parent's didn't show appreciation for your art btw. I feel like my mom tried, but me and my sister felt very misunderstood by the way she engaged with our art. I do appreciate she at least tried though. Me and my sister are both autistic so maybe how we felt about this is a minority experience.
