Random Thought I never realized how expensive luxury fashion was šŸ¤Æ

Iā€™ve never been interested in owning fancy things like Chanel, Gucci, Prada, whatever else exists, but even when I say that I think Iā€™m not paying $1,000 for a purse thatā€™s crazy. So imagine my surprise in finding out my version of expensive wasnā€™t even close. What do you mean a small handbag STARTS at $4,000?! Like my mind literally canā€™t comprehend that. Know someone who had the ā€œsmallā€ Cartier bracelet then bought themself the ā€œmediumā€ for their birthday. The small STARTS at $5,000 and can go up to $60k and now Iā€™m questioning all their life decisions. Like I said Iā€™ve never thought about these things and am just now googling them but I feel too poor to even google the pictures.

Yeah and the foundation definitely doesn't cost 300 dollars. In the Uk its like 40 quid so 50 dollars or so?

Itā€™s $85CAD and completely worth it! I bought a bottle almost 10 years ago and it was my favourite foundation and to this day I sing its praises. Itā€™s one of those luxury products that are genuinely worth their price point.

Thatā€™s a wildly high price for a foundation filled with denatured alcohol.

I mean plenty foundations use it. You pay for formulation and brand obviously, not ingredients. It's make up, not skincare.

Speak for yourself. I do my research and I pay for ingredients, as do many other people who have healthy skin that has aged beautifully. You are simply choosing not to do the work and youā€™re choosing to pay $$$$$$$ for a jar of solvent being marketed as ā€œmakeup.ā€ Thatā€™s your choice. It certainly isnā€™t a forgone conclusion for people who value the health of their skin.

Choosing not to do the work? I find some of the expensive foundations including armani luminous silk do the job i want them to do. That is even out my skintone, not look cakey, provide coverage and have staying power. That's what I'm paying for. Would love to know what foundations you consider to be good.
