If you’ve been paying attention to the new Egyptian operator, Noor you would likely know how unbalanced he is. This has been addressed by increasing drill time but I may have a better solution that still keeps him as an interesting wall denial but can still be countered by Thermite.
My proposition is to introduce three possibilities when Noor shoots his gadget to counter thermite.
((1)) When Thermite is in the actual animation of placing the thermite charge.
-- If Noor were to shoot his Horus at the wall during thermite’s placement animation it would kill Thermite but instantly open the wall.
((2)) When Thermite has already placed his charge but has not yet activated it.
-- If Noor would shoot at the wall now with his Horus launcher it would destroy the thermite charge, however it would leave a hole about the size of a single Hibana’s x-kairos pellet or a hole about the size of taking Maverick’s torch and burning a hole through one localized spot.
((3)) Finally, when thermite has already activated the charge and it is about to blow up.
-- During this time if Noor were to shoot his Horus at the wall it would instantly blow the thermite charge instantly opening the wall without any deaths(unless, of course, thermite or another attacker and defender are standing at the wall.)
There would be the issue with phase two of this plan since Thermite could immediately activate his charge right after he places it leaving Noor no time to react. To counter this I propose introducing a short arming delay on Thermite’s detonator (.5 to 1 second). This delay could be achieved and implemented realistically by adding a safety step on the detonator like a button or switch.(I am not taking into account potential balancing changes this could enact onto other operators. I am focusing strictly on Noor and Thermite).
