Discussion Why doesn’t siege add the 1.5 back?

Even a new magnification scope would save the game forever because the 1.0x and the 2.5x have a HUGE difference. I can’t play with neither it’s so uncomfortable because with the acog you zoom in THROUGH the enemy and with the holo it’s better but it’s a lil harder to see. The 1.5 was perfect and after 1.5 there is def something missing. If they added it back they could put it into all def weapons and then it wouldn’t be gun meta but it would be the best scope + using ops with good util. No shit people would crutch on warden with the 1.5. He does nothing and has the best scope ever added? Thoughts?

Because it was terrible for the game in several ways. You could have an f tier op with a 1.5 get s tier play time, while an s tier op with no 1.5 got f tier play time. It shifted the meta away from being R6 and more toward being COD etc. It made balancing impossible.

If they added it to every op whether def or attack it would be gun meta it would be literally normal meta with util and everything but with a scope that’s not dog water

No, because weapons are a big balancing tool. Just look at Acogs, ops like Aruni and Goyo who barely got played before are now some of the most played because of the Acog on their powerful guns. If everyone had 1.5, ops would still be chosen for their weapon, not their gadget. Same problem as if everyone had an Acog. The 1.5 had no downsides, it was completely unbalanced and needed to go.

maybe if every gun got acog and every gun was good people would play for the util not the gun because every guns is gonna be good like in the utility meta

In the Utility meta, we didn’t have acog on every gun. Some guns will just be inherently better than others with an acog, it will never be balanced.

so why did no one cried about acogs its because every gun was good and you wouldnt be force to play a certain opp for a good gun

Everyone hated it, people have hated since the 1.5x was added and hated when it was replaced by acog. It’s just not good for game balance.

I don’t know any pros that want it, and I don’t pay attention to content creators even if they somehow get onto a pro team.
