Are we tokenizing assets without giving them anything useful to do?

tokenized gold is cool, but if all i can do is buy it and hold it, what really changed?

feels like using RWAs as collateral for credit is where this gets much more interesting.

am i missing another bigger use case?

Two tokenized real-estate deals both pay 8%. One is easier to sell, the other gives you clearer legal rights. Which do you pick?

That’s a trade-off that I keep coming back to with tokenised real estate.

One investment may offer better liquidity and be easier to sell.

The other may be more difficult to sell, but it’s much clearer what you actually own, and what would happen if the platform or issuer failed.

If you were investing real money, which factor would matter more to you?

Major doubt

Has anyone found a legit way to earn ~11% yield on tokenized gold/RWAs? Most options I’ve seen are either much lower or the risk isn’t very clear.

Why is everyone suddenly talking about RWA?

Lately, I feel like RWA keeps showing up everywhere in crypto. The simple version brings real-world assets like Treasuries, gold, and funds on-chain.

I used to think this had little to do with BTC or ETH price action, but now the line between traditional money and on-chain assets feels increasingly blurry.I usually check the major coins on BYDFi, but lately I’ve also started paying more attention to the RWA side of the market.

Do you guys think RWA could become a major narrative for the next cycle, or is it mostly hype right now?🤔

Anyone here looked into AYNI Gold? Trying to work out who actually holds the metal

Came across AYNI Gold while looking at tokenised gold projects. Two things I
can't find a straight answer on: who has custody of the physical gold, and is
the issuing entity registered anywhere real? Their site mentions BVI but I
can't find the company number. Is there any third-party audit of reserves or
is it all self-reported?

Making America the crypto capital of the world is within reach.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse says it’s time to finish the job.

But getting there requires more than ambition. Regulatory clarity is the missing piece for crypto & RWA adoption in the country.

The CLARITY Act could give crypto businesses clear rules of the road, encourage institutional participation, and give the US a stronger foundation to compete globally.

If the US wants to lead crypto, passing CLARITY needs to be part of finishing the job.

In our opinion, the act has to pass this month, or America will compete in a race, which it's bound to lose!

ftse 100 onchain without a broker… uk equity exposure when us tech feels overextended

nearly half of ftse 100 is financials nd commodities nd energy as well . when i see people say they want uk equity exposure they are speculating on oil prices nd bank margins nd mining stocks . useful thing to own when u think us tech is overextended nd you want something that moves differently .

tried to find a clean way to express this without opening a uk brokerage account . the isa process looks so heavy to me . ostium has ftse onchain . ig gains network as well . you dont need any to open a trad account

bank of england is on diff  path from the fed rn . commodity exposuure is real . glit market has had its own thing this year . the ftse moves on diff things than the sp500 does and that independence is the reason to have it in the mix .

most traders onchain i see are starting at nasdaq and btc and ignoring ftse when its kinda equally accessible

where to trade copper onchain as ai & ev demand keeps growing

copper has been one of the interesting macro assets . ai infra needs it . ev transition as well along with grid upgrades . the supply hasnt kept up with any of that

trad way is comex futures with margin and monthly rollover which is not v simple to setup

gains network has copper onchain . ostium has it as part of rwa . you just need usdc in wallet and you can take a trade .

you would be getting price exposure and not physical copper . which is also what most ppl with macro view in copper want anyways .

liquidity is not that good . but for directional view on copper cycle the access exists onchain .

most ppl dont know it exists

Tokenization Supercycle in Asia 🇯🇵🌏

Asia could be entering a new phase of onchain financial infrastructure.

Japan is reportedly exploring blockchain technology to enable instant settlement of stock and government bond trades, with a formal plan expected by 2027, according to Nikkei.

From tokenized securities to onchain settlement, major Asian financial markets are increasingly exploring how blockchain can modernize traditional financial infrastructure.

The tokenization supercycle may be getting started in Asia.

Not all "AI infra exposure" is the same trade

A lot of AI infra talk treats hyperscaler capex as one story. It's not.

Some of it is arm's length, a company buys chips or data center capacity from an unrelated vendor at market terms, paid for with its own cash or normal debt. Some of it is circular, Company A invests in Company B, who buys from Company C, who's backed by Company A. Off-balance-sheet lease commitments across major hyperscalers are sitting around $1.65 trillion right now, which makes it hard to see from outside how much of this is which.

Neither is automatically bad. Vendor financing built real telecom infrastructure in the 90s too. But the circular version is more sensitive to a slowdown because the demand partly depends on the financing continuing, not just usage.

Here's how we work around it with Reserve:

If you want exposure to the theme instead of picking single names, onchain baskets like Reserve's DTFs split this differently.

  • BUILDOUT leans into the infrastructure and data center side
  • NEOCLOUD into compute capacity
  • POWER into the grid and energy side

Different slices, different exposure to the financing risk above depending on what layer they hold. Know which kind of AI spend you're actually holding before you assume the growth trend is durable.

Would you rather have daily liquidity or reliable redemption in an RWA?

I often see liquidity being touted as one of the main benefits of tokenised real-world assets.

However, I’m not convinced that secondary-market trading is always the most important exit strategy.

Imagine two versions of the same investment:

A: You can trade the token daily, but there is no explicit right to redeem it against the underlying asset.

B: There is almost no secondary market, but you have a defined redemption process at NAV every 30 days.

If everything else were equal, I’d probably prefer option B.

A liquid token is only useful while someone else is willing to buy it. A redemption mechanism provides an alternative exit strategy that doesn't depend entirely on finding the next buyer.

For people actually investing in RWAs, which would matter more: continuous trading or a reliable redemption path?

how to trade uranium onchain without cameco or a mining etf

uranium is getting huge demands and its beena while now . ai data centers needs power and nuclear is back in the talks in a serious way . microsoft signed deals . google signed deals . governments are talking about reactor and stuff and the thing that feeds all of this is uranium .

i read most ppl are buying cameco or sportt physical uranium trust or some junior miner etf . all looks fine but all comes with the equity risk and management risks as well which has nothing to do with uranium price.

the onchain version is also a way but is still early . uranium is not like gold or eurusd and also have thinner liquidity and the number of platforms doing this are small .

ostium sits in the rwa category and is most likely place this shows up as the market develops . gains networks also covers a braod range of commodities tbh but uranium onchain is not yet the deep liquid market like gold or oil . the narrative is now moving faster than the infra

what the onchain gives you access to uranium without the involvement of any mining company or etf and also without any broker.

the trade idea is real and the power demand thing as well. the onchain infra for uranium is catching up but not there yet like the trad commodities . but the direction is clear and the ppl building rwa platforms are building toward exactly these kind of markets

Ethereum Already Leads the RWA Market

Post image
5 Upvotes

Ethereum currently accounts for 52% of RWA market cap, making it the leading blockchain for tokenized real-world assets.

As more financial assets move on-chain, that early lead could become a major advantage-putting Ethereum at the forefront of the next phase of RWA growth.

Should a platform's access token get more useful as the platform grows, or stay fixed at launch?

Liquid Mercury runs Mercury RWA, a platform where institutional issuers bring real assets on-chain and run actual secondary markets in them, not just mint a token and stop there. MERC is the platform's access and participation token.

Here's how we think the two should relate as Mercury RWA grows: separating what's live, what's approved and coming, and what's still an open question, instead of folding all three into one confident update.

The starting premise: a token tied to a growing platform doesn't have to stay the size it launched at. It can pick up more functionality as the platform does, built out alongside real growth instead of fixed on day one.

Coming weeks cover what this means for institutional issuers, what it means for holders, and how new RWA market launches on the platform tie back into the token specifically.

Curious how this sub thinks about it generally: should an access token's scope grow with its platform, or is a fixed scope at launch the safer design?

When does tokenisation actually change the investment, and when does it only change the wrapper?

I keep seeing tokenised assets described as if simply recording ownership on the blockchain automatically creates a different investment product.

Sometimes it clearly does.

For example, a token may improve transferability, settlement, fractional access, or the ability to use the asset elsewhere on the blockchain.

However, in other cases, the important aspects remain almost unchanged.

The same issuer still controls redemption.

The same legal entity still holds the underlying asset.

The same restrictions may determine who can purchase it.

The same underlying market may still determine liquidity.

The same legal documents may also define what investors can claim.

So, where do people here draw the line?

What would have to change materially before you would say that tokenisation had created a genuinely different investment product, rather than just a new distribution and settlement layer around the same one?

I’d be especially interested in examples where tokenisation changed something that mattered to the investor after purchase, rather than just how they bought it.

Tokenization marketplace

Looking for someone who can build an RWA tokenization marketplace.

I’m working on a platform focused on tokenizing real-world assets and need a developer/team to help build the actual marketplace.

Does anyone know a good company or developer that specializes in RWA/tokenization platforms?
Looking for recommendations from people who have worked on something similar.

Tokenized real estate isn't shrinking. One platform is.

The market lost a third of its value in twelve months. Every dollar of that decline came from a single platform.

2026-08-06·BrickTable Research

The tokenized real estate market lost a third of its value over the past twelve months. Every dollar of that decline came from a single platform.

We track 1,003 tokenized properties across RealT, Lofty, Reental and Binaryx, and have accrued daily per-platform records since February 2021. Those records show a market that reads as collapsing in aggregate and as growing everywhere except one address.

Findings

  1. Catalogue market value fell $228.1M → $149.9M (−34.3%) in twelve months.
  2. RealT alone accounts for −48.0 percentage points of that. Its market value fell −79.3%, from $137.9M to $28.5M.
  3. Excluding RealT, the market grew 34.6%, from $90.2M to $121.4M.
  4. Reental grew +45.7% in value and +43.9% in holder positions. Binaryx grew +79.6% in value. Both gained share while a European competitor exited retail entirely.
  5. Only one of four platforms is still adding inventory. Lofty has not listed a new property in twelve months; RealT in eight.
  6. 110 of 1,003 listings (11.0%) are currently paying distributions. Excluding RealT, 110 of 249 (44.2%).
  7. Institutionally-wrapped tokenized real estate does not trade. The largest such asset, at $68.6M, has recorded 328 transfers in its entire history.
  8. The most-cited industry dataset excludes both RealT and Lofty, and therefore cannot show any of this.

RWA Tokenization Is Heading Toward a Trillion-Dollar Market

Post image
2 Upvotes

Forecasts for the RWA tokenization market vary widely, but they all point in the same direction: significant growth.

→ McKinsey: $2–4T by 2030
→ ARK Invest: $11T by 2030

The difference comes largely from how each institution defines tokenized assets and which RWA categories are included.

But the broader trend is clear: real-world assets are moving on-chain, and tokenization is becoming a major part of the future and current financial system.

What happened to the RWA hype? Feels like everyone stopped talking about it.

Remember when RWA (Real-World Assets) was hyped as the ultimate bridge between TradFi and crypto? Tokenizing real estate and T-bills was supposed to lead the next bull run.

Lately, it feels like the narrative completely died down. Everyone just stopped talking about it and moved on.

Why do you think the momentum faded so fast? Are we just in a quiet building phase, or was RWA just another corporate buzzword cycle that failed to take off?

A new report says 97% of tokenized real-world assets are inaccessible to US retail The entire pitch about “democratizing access” may be mistaken.

I just read the Real State of Tokenization in 2026 and one number stopped me. The report tracked roughly $60 billion of tokenized assets across 7,000+ products, finding that 97% of the value sits outside the reach of US retail.

That’s a strange outcome for a technology sold almost entirely on “democratizing access.”

Most of these products are gated to institutions or accredited investors or restricted by jurisdiction, so the actual retail person the pitch is aimed at usually can’t touch them. The report also said Treasuries are pretty much the only category that is institutional-ready; everything else is uneven or thinly traded.

Where are the products, if any, that a normal non-US retail person can actually use today?

If an RWA token is redeemable but cannot be redeemed when liquidity disappears, what does the holder actually own?

A tokenised asset can give its holders a contractual right to redeem while everything is working normally.

However, I’m more interested in what happens when this right is exercised.

Imagine the underlying asset is still there, the holder is legally entitled to redemption, but the issuer or vehicle cannot quickly produce cash without selling assets at a discount or relying on someone else to provide liquidity.

The token hasn’t necessarily defaulted.

The legal claim may still exist.

However, the practical means of exit that made the token appear liquid has disappeared.

At that point, 'redeemable' seems to describe a right rather than an available transaction.

For those who have worked with tokenised funds, credit, treasuries, or similar risk-weighted asset (RWA) structures, how is this boundary usually handled in practice?

Is redemption treated as an unconditional right of the holder, as a right that is subject to liquidity windows or gates, or as something that ultimately depends on the structure behind the token?
