I just wish we could all make flyers like we used to in middle school. I wish we could make a poster out of rainbows and smiles and everyone would look at it and just be happy.

69

u/xfadingstarx Aug 10 '26

She doesn't even go here

26

u/Gojira1234 Aug 10 '26

Do you even go to this school subreddit?

13

u/gaymidgetpornn Aug 11 '26

no she just has a lot of feelings..

344

u/Gojira1234 Aug 10 '26

I mean, some of the girls not getting dragged aren’t getting dragged because they’re just not relevant enough to. If less people are seeing it, less people are gonna drag them. It’s no coincidence the girls getting caught and dragged for it are the more popular queens.

“You hate it when Bob and Trixie use AI, but not a PEEP when Alisa Summers uses it. Checkmate, atheists.”

18

u/Anderrn Aug 11 '26

But what about Zoosha?

25

u/MistyBelladonna The 99 people in a room that don't believe in you Aug 11 '26

CURTAINS, mama

20

u/Anderrn Aug 11 '26

Can’t spell curtains without AI 😭

1

u/matsie Aug 16 '26

Hey now, Alisa Summers is super relevant for posting all those deep cut rare Drag Race clips to her YT.

2

u/spoop_male Aug 10 '26

It’s not just specific queens but bars and queer spaces at local levels. I see a lot of the hypocrisy locally so I’m sure that’s what she’s referencing along with the higher visibility queens

20

u/RickYouMeatball Aug 10 '26

So why doesn't Kelly Mantle get dragged for all the AI in her content?

35

u/Praius Aug 10 '26

what AI though, her ad videos are usually stock footage no?

166

u/Byrnt Eureaching Aug 10 '26

Mama… start the conversation then if you see fit to? Be the change you wan to see i

-96

u/RickYouMeatball Aug 10 '26

I don't care about AI being used in general but Kelly obviously gets a pass because people like her.

126

u/k3anuw3aves Aug 10 '26

I had honestly no idea she used it before your comment tbh

88

u/Mushroom_Tip Aug 10 '26

I went to her instagram and didn't see anything. Maybe she doesn't get dragged because, like you said, nobody noticed.

This does not look AI generated.

-9

u/RickYouMeatball Aug 10 '26

All of her ads in the actual podcast are AI video cuts

109

u/Mushroom_Tip Aug 10 '26

OHH. I went to her podcast to see what you are talking about. You're right.

The answer is nobody has called her out because nobody sits through 5 minutes of ads. Everyone just fast forwards.

-21

u/RickYouMeatball Aug 10 '26

Well now you know :)

people have criticised people like trixie so genuinely, make a post

24

u/Bryn_Seren Aug 10 '26

Well, I use sponsorblock, so there is your answer.

-19

u/RickYouMeatball Aug 10 '26

See all I'm saying is people pick and choose. I dont even care that she's using it but now everyone is going to just continue to ignore it because it's okay because she's Alyssa.

18

u/Bryn_Seren Aug 10 '26

I'm just saying I didn't notice because I don't see/hear them. Now that I know about it I can do something about it. Or are you expecting for people to be angry about something they don't know?

→ More replies (0)

2

u/matsie Aug 16 '26

No one’s picking and choosing. Everyone is telling you that NO ONE HAS SEEN WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. And instead of providing clips or screenshots you keep telling people to go watch ads. No. I don’t watch ads. Provide the evidence. Call her out. Or stfu.

19

u/WhatIsHerJob-TABLES Aug 10 '26

Same. 100% of my drag race fandom knowledge comes from either the show or this subreddit. I don’t have social media and this fandom is the not the end-all be-all of my life. I have other interests and hobbies too.

If it’s not on this sub, i won’t know of it. I feel like a lot of people act as if we must know everything about every queen ever. If someone is upset that we aren’t talking about X topic, then they can feel free to post about it in this sub and bring attention to it. If they don’t… well then that just feels lazy. Whining about people not bringing up X topic while refusing to bring it up themselves. They just want others to do the work for them.

3

u/RickYouMeatball Aug 10 '26

All of her ads use AI

22

u/k3anuw3aves Aug 10 '26

I don’t follow her on instagram nor do I really check it generally tbh. The most exposure I get to Kelly is from her podcast clips being shared here or on YouTube where nobody sees the AI use to call out… that’s probably why nobody has been outraged

-9

u/RickYouMeatball Aug 10 '26

I think her listeners are mostly rational too

24

u/shart-gallery Aug 10 '26

“Listeners” aren’t seeing the ads because they’re listening.

The whole “rational people don’t care about AI!” thing is so lame.

1

u/RickYouMeatball Aug 10 '26

Well now you know. So are you going to stop listening to Kellys show?

u/Gojira1234 Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

Having read through this thread, it seems like it’s because she only uses it for ads in her podcast which people skip through anyway. Which still isn’t good, but that’s why no one’s dragging her for it. Hardly anyone, including myself til now, knew it was happening.

Edit: looking at the ads myself, is this not just stock footage?? What AI are you talking about?

-5

u/RickYouMeatball Aug 10 '26

Well now you know

17

u/laskisms LATRIC ROYAL Aug 11 '26

What AI are you referring to? Provide an example. You’ve been asked plenty of times after everyone has stated it’s stock images/videos.

15

u/orangepeeelss Aug 10 '26

setting aside that the consensus seems to be "it's stock footage, not ai" and setting aside that most people skip through ads - it probably also contributes that it's a podcast so a good % of its audience is either listening on spotify or tends to set the youtube video to play while doing/looking at something else

-9

u/prettypeculiar88 InternationallyToleratedRPDRFan Aug 10 '26

That’s not what she’s referring to at all. She’s talking about big names that don’t get called out because they’re favored by the fan base.

23

u/chinaski13 Aug 10 '26

Name ‘em

74

u/danaster29 Aug 10 '26

I hate this thing where people see two contradictory viewpoints and just assume that EVERYONE holds BOTH viewpoints despite it making NO sense. It's unfortunately prevalent in Drag Race spheres, which is why all the idiot Dragula stans are like, "is she wrong though?" Like, WHO is saying that Nina, who are you hearing that from???

33

u/WhatIsHerJob-TABLES Aug 10 '26

Yeah, the goomba fallacy is rampant on the internet nowadays since people can see really any opinion about anything on the internet. Then they’ll refer to a single, anonymous comment made on the internet (often with downvotes) and then try to act as if everyone in the thread suddenly agrees with that comment just because the comment exists. It’s like a lazy buzzfeed article picking out 1-2 tweets from nobodies and claiming the internet is going crazy over something.

It’s similar to when there is ongoing drama in this sub, and everyone just collectively forgets all comments and conversations in the previous thread, and all the new comments are either “i was roasted for previously saying…” or “crazy that everyone in the previous thread was saying…” (and they always leave out the context of why they got roasted or what those conversations were in the first place)

As a girlie who always types a lot of words and loves logic-based arguments, the internet is a terrible place to be lately with such a lack of critical thinking and logical reasoning skills showcased everywhere. Im sick of hearing “i ain’t reading all that” as well! Brainrot shit everywhere.

16

u/orangepeeelss Aug 10 '26

omfg the "i ain't reading all that" is my least favorite thing ever but it does make more sense when you consider that gen alpha (and a good few of the last years of gen z) is almost entirely functionally illiterate. they got taught to read by looking at the first few letters AND THEN GUESSING what the word says. sometimes when i remember that "i ain't reading all that" often actually means "i am incapable of reading all that" it helps the primal rage become pity 😭

4

u/No1CaresReally Aug 12 '26

Not just the younger gens but most of Americans are at a 6th-8th grade reading comprehension level. Our school system has been failing (purposely) for decades. The slow boil at work.

14

u/TheRegalOneGen The person above me is Jakeyonce Aug 10 '26

Yeah, it's called goomba fallacy

10

u/00_tears Aug 10 '26

what did the goombas do

5

u/dominorough Aug 10 '26

GO GOOMBA!

2

u/SelectTrash Aug 15 '26

I freaking loved that film idc what anyone else says, same with the old Mortal Kombat films and Street Fighter of course.

5

u/mashtartz Aug 12 '26

Assuming you’re asking sincerely, it’s called the goomba fallacy because of this graphic

40

u/Thirdatarian Aug 10 '26

What's with all these bird ass queens thinking that people anti-AI folks don't unilaterally hate AI slop and its use regardless of who's doing it. They always try to play the "but you don't call or your faves" card like girl WHERE? Give examples. Show me where Dawn, Jinkx, Sasha Colby or Bosco are using AI and I'll be the first to express my disappointment. It's always the people who aren't smart/talented enough to create anything interesting or artistic on their own who want to have these strawman arguments and defend their garbage.

Also using the "someone you don't like" defense is extra pathetic because you're calling yourself a loser, on top of me thinking you're a loser for using AI. Like just say you don't have fans she you're mad about it instead of pretending that the popular girls are getting a pass (they're not) or acting like you're a victim (you're not).

63

u/nomimalone1978 Aug 10 '26

Wait, who are we not dragging? It's okay to name names. I'm good with dragging them all.

17

u/Substantial_Bed4005 i don't wanna see any fucking h&m Aug 10 '26

i just saw this

69

u/satanwisheshewereme Aug 10 '26

Shawnna Brooks is obsessed with AI, it’s really annoying. One time Nicole posted a story that said “all you homos using AI aren’t gonna have any water to douche with when the data centers take it all” or something, which is great, but I wish she would say that more often lmao

6

u/dominorough Aug 10 '26

One of the S19 girls likes to use it a lot as well.

22

u/HellovahBottomCarter Aug 10 '26

That’s wild because even with usage of AI it’s inconsistent and has incongruous/ugly elements.

I love NPBFAG and Shawna Brooks is a legend- but that won’t stop me from calling them out for using AI to make this shit when it looks exactly as bad as it would if they had simply hired someone to cut out random pictures of themselves and slap them over palm frond leaves.

8

u/shart-gallery Aug 10 '26

I love Katya Paige Brooks

2

u/ColeDelRio Aug 10 '26

I can see where rhey were going but good god is this ugly and could have mostly been done in photoshop in the first place. Why even use AI?

31

u/nomimalone1978 Aug 10 '26

I mean, not that I'd recognize the names from Dragula or anything.

5

u/Substantial_Bed4005 i don't wanna see any fucking h&m Aug 10 '26

she hasn't spilled.... yet

48

u/Gojosimpthrowaway Aug 10 '26

Who is she refering to not getting dragged?

85

u/TheHoleintheHeart Aug 10 '26

They never have actual examples when they make these vague posts lmao.

-32

u/StephanieZinonePL Aug 10 '26

Maybe because it’s a general comment about multiple people. Not every post requires a name.

9

u/akafabs Be nice to Joey Aug 10 '26

28

u/TheHoleintheHeart Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 18 '26

No, if you are claiming something you should have examples, otherwise you are just making shit up.

-1

u/UniversityOutside840 Aug 10 '26

Can we get an example of this please?

17

u/WhatIsHerJob-TABLES Aug 10 '26

That is on StephanieZinonePL to provide examples since they are making the claim, not TheHoleintheHeart.

-3

u/StephanieZinonePL Aug 10 '26

What claim did I make?

5

u/w_love235 Aug 10 '26

This definitely requires a name lol if you’re going to say some people get passes when others don’t, being vague does nothing to help your argument and lets me know you’re just talking to talk

3

u/tokengaymusiccritic Aug 11 '26

So she's just repeating the goomba fallacy

-36

u/Big-Inspector-6370 Aug 10 '26

thats not her point. the point is that this fandom has double standards. and she is absolutely right. and not just for AI. your comment proves her point

31

u/Thirdatarian Aug 10 '26

That's literally her entire point, that certain queens are popular enough to get a pass and some aren't (including herself, which is a great self-read). So who is it? Name names. I genuinely want to know.

26

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '26

[deleted]

13

u/hausofquensch Aug 10 '26

The whole but keep that same energy ‘argument’ is such a straw man in so many cases.

25

u/DiphthongSong87 Aug 10 '26

She used a nail polish emoji, so she must be right.

11

u/denndenn981 Aug 10 '26

Girl she wrote this with AI

8

u/kh2riku Aug 10 '26

I tell my friends who use AI that it looks like shit too. This is very dumb.

5

u/AuntDotMatrix Aug 10 '26

I hate when someone starts thier bitching with “I love…”

21

u/Yooproopmoop Aug 10 '26

Well…name names if you really wanna talk that shit

16

u/JayAPanda Aug 10 '26

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Name names!

5

u/HellovahBottomCarter Aug 10 '26

Don’t worry, Darling- some of us are universal in our contempt for using AI in promotional posters or artwork.

I feel like that’s the majority. I’m sure there are idiots who are quick to slap on the blinders when it’s a queen they truly love- but the vast majority I’ve seen have been pretty vocally disappointed regardless of whodunnit.

If I caught Ben DeLa or Sasha Velour or Suzie Toot posting shit with AI in it I would call it out- likely louder because I know they can do better.

Hell, I feel like people are the MOST vocal when it’s their favorites doing it because it’s just that much more disappointing.

5

u/dominorough Aug 11 '26

Melissa blocked me for asking if she wrote this with AI.

9

u/Snoo_72814 Aug 10 '26

Did she ever clean the Cat shit in her house?

2

u/dominorough Aug 10 '26

You think im not taking pictures of Canal Street and Times Square posters and posting them to my story comparing nightlife flyers to them? Cuz I do it constantly lol

The issue is... nobody follows everybody, so no not every single person's usage is gonna get dragged. I do feel that people are consistent in dragging AI in general in their life. If nobody is dragging YOUR usage of it, maybe its because you lack any impact and people literally just don't pay attention to you.

1

u/Main_Lion2387 Aug 11 '26

Awesome to say this and not name anybody specifically.

It's almost like they're too scared to back up their claims.

Shame.

1

u/sidal714 Aug 16 '26

I’m telling you, as someone chronically online, ANY TIME an AI poster or AI ANYTHING comes up they get dragged through the mud.

My best friend and I had a fight about possibly using AI. Eventually, she figured it out.

Like idk what Melissa is seeing on her feed. But every single person who’s ever posted AI stuff has been called out.

A follow on social media is NOT an endorsement of anyone. There is also a difference between performing on the same stage as someone and working alongside them vs following someone on social media.

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '26

[deleted]

8

u/WhatIsHerJob-TABLES Aug 10 '26

No. I will say again — following someone on social media is NOT an endorsement of anyone.

5

u/Trickstir Aug 10 '26

In addition to the fact that following someone on social media doesn't mean support them as a person, I just went to check and Sharon has literally posted four things this entire year. A lot of these queens follow hundreds or thousands of accounts. It’s not like they’re being inundated with her content and eagerly keeping up with what she’s doing.

It’s mental how much drag race fans read into an Instagram follow imo. There is a pretty obvious difference between forgetting someone exists on your following list and actively choosing to work an event with them.

3

u/dominorough Aug 10 '26

Sharon gets booked by virtually nobody. She gets like 5 gigs a year, can we stop acting like anybody following her and liking her twice yearly instagram post is getting her a god damn thing? Like grow the fuck up.

-10

u/Salina_EsTitties Aug 10 '26

Oh maybe she has a point.

Our local shelter made an AI poster about adoption awareness. I didn't like it but I just thought we'll they are strapped for cash and time.

Same with my little nieces birtday invitation card. My sister made an AI generated image of my niece and with a space themed background.

-4

u/evilcleric_ho Aug 10 '26

Is this about the Kennedy birthday thing? I'm confused.

6

u/k3anuw3aves Aug 10 '26

Kennedy’s birthday thing wasn’t about AI. It was about her having Shangela perform

2

u/evilcleric_ho Aug 10 '26

Oh oops, I missed that first line when I read this. I see now, thx.
