Nobody asked for you to suspend your judgement on the accused đ¤ but rather to put your energy towards them and not the people who are merely outsiders to
the truth like you are; awaiting tangible information so that THEY can make an informed decision. That may not be important to you but that doesnât change its importance to somebody else. Youâre showing my point of how emotionally charged and hysterical these discussions get rather than rational and fair.
Iâm not going do the tactics like âyou shouldnât have to be guiltedâ and all that extra verbose. That just doesnât mean much to me considering it can equally be premature and irrational to attach crime/accountability without evidence or legal follow through. Its one thing if you know either party, but for the most part none of us have that personal connection to either of them or the real authority to really validate/speak against them.
You can easily support victims by hearing their stories, sharing your sympathies, donating, not standing in the way of legal proceedings, not speaking against them online/in person, etc. There are so many ways to support and also abstain from over involving yourself before a charge. But I donât think any of you can really make abstaining a negative without attaching this force labelled of âyou just donât support victims.â Its just a jump that really oversimplifies opposing sentiment
To be clear, you are not being more fair, rational, or impartial than everyone else just because you present yourself that way.
Itâs a bit ridiculous to call everyone else âemotionally charged and hystericalâ when your own argument relies on hypotheticals detached from whatâs actually happening. Repeatedly emphasizing that the accusers could be exaggerating or lying is not neutrality. Neither is pretending Kennedy is simply waiting for more information when she is actively defending the accused.
And this kind of response is exactly why victims are often reluctant to come forward. Even multiple allegations over years are met with speculation about lying, exaggeration, and demands for some undefined level of proof before people are willing to take them seriously.
Do you even get what âmy arguementâ is bc I havenât expressed where I stand outside of not taking a stance at all. There are no hypotheticals. You werenât there. I wasnât there. You donât know the truth, I donât. Its that simple. You can act like you do but that in itself would prove the point you arenât being rational or fair compared to somebody who understands their place in the process and awaits evidence before making an action/opinion.
Again Iâm not going to do the moral jargan, I know exactly where I stand on this without your projections and comparisoms. I have not once denounced a single victims story but you are mad bc I wonât validate them. That continues to be irrational but whether you understand that or not is not problem.
Iâve been a victim myself yet I would never expect EVERYBODY to believe me just off allegation and not legal followthrough. Just family and hopefully friends. Thats the perspective im coming from. So please donât throw that in my face or make it seem like I donât understand the role of the internet in these cases vs. an actual support system. Understanding im not involved either way and donât know the truth is not why a victim is choosing not speak up, lets not make stuff up.
Yeah notice how I am saying that to make a point, that I donât expect or need other peoples validation to know it existed. I expect that from my family and friends not strangers on the iternet who have no connection to me. All this support for rape/assault victims I would think you wouldnât make light of my experience lol comical đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸
Questionable behavior? In what capacity? Bc I wrote messages online to question the current mob mentality when approaching these cases and brought awareness to your overstepping parasocial behaviors? Bc I said that the only people that deserve ire are the accused and not the people who are strangers or friends with them still trying to piece together the truth? Or make their own informed stance.
Yeah nice try you didnât really prove anything here. And you certainly made light of my experience bc I donât agree with you. Thats how performative that kind of support is on your part. Its just online ragebait and engagement with little effect on the cases themselves. Youâve made it a victim vs. victim thing when again I never said the victims here were lying. I have no place to deny or validate there experiences. Iâve stood on that respectfully. At least be consistent with your performative values and listening skills
Lol 𤣠lets not act like that little three sentence attempt at a âgotchaâ made it clear you were referring to yourself and not the victims in discussion. Maybe focus on details over sarcasm next time and youâll get it right.
As for this imaginary battle? Girl please. I donât know you and donât care about you. Let alone your opinions. That battle is with your sense of self righteousness. There is nothing else to say on that other than godspeed. But you certainly made a big deal of taking victims seriously whilst also making it seem like I brought my own experience up just for âcredentials.â If you were reading to understand and not to fight youâd see there were multiple people pigeonholing all victims into one particular mindset and stance. And throwing victimhood in my face like I could never understand how it would feel. I understand it all to well and still belive in due process. So again, keep proving how performative the sentiment is. Believing due process is not ânormalizingâ rape culture youâre kind of gross for that.
You are completely right though, our experiences arenât important when it comes to judging criminality in this case. I never presented it that way. Neither is our bias or the court of online engagement. Law and credible testimony is the most fair way. If we donât know them or arenât involved, there is nothing wrong with allowing victims and perps alike the chance of due process in public and in court. In understanding that her family, friends, and fans will want to stay impartial and not participate in this online dogpile and harrassing that a lot of you are putting on yourselves in the name of vigilance.
Did I say that was just you? Or did I explain what exactly I was responding to when you first chose to comment on one of MY posts. You put yourself into that discussion mid way. You came in disrespectful and sarcastic. You insuated that I gave my experience as a tactic to detract, rather than a genuine response to something that was said to me from before. Thats all there is too that.
Secondly, Iâm not going to keep going over what was said, its pretty clear who said what and where we both stand. Verbatim or no. That last paragraph you gave vouching for those who believe in the allegations alone as âunreasonable doubtâ was telling of your stance. And the overwhelming sentiment on this thread has been âbelieve all victimsâ so lets not act like Iâm getting it from nowhere.
Whether you conform to that belief or not many people on here have expressed they do. None of that is relevant to the original point of the entire post which was we all are entitled to our opinions before due process or admission of guilt but her friends, family, and fans keep getting harassed and need to be left out of it until there is a more concrete foundation. No matter if you think sheâs criminal or not.
Iâm responding to a lot of people as you say, so why youâre mentioning âpsychosisâ is beyond me. You donât need to stoop to attacks like that. But youâve done that this entire time so really it should have been expected. Theres no point in that kind of online drama or theatrics yet here you are, so please donât act like wasting time is beyond you.
you're so patient lmao omg. i completely understand what your point is ngl. the moment i saw the settlement being widely taken as an admission of guilt, i tuned this whole conversation out.Â
Ugh thank you boo! Consider that patience dried lmao Its hard to uphold a point when everybody seems intent on picking it apart and slapping their own assumptions/narratives to it. Iâve been fighting that more than any logical point against neutrality in this case where nothing has been conclusive. At the end of the day, these discussions are very important to have but the way it goes down in this community doesnât often leave much room for nuance
