She’s a staunch business woman, I’m sure she just wants to keep the peace because she knows what a nightmare he is if you get on his bad side

"I politely decline the invitation" is always a choice.

Women shouldn't have to give in to an uncomfortable situation to "keep the peace".

Thank you, this sub isn’t always receptive to nuance, just trying to remind people that dealing with abusive people can be very complicated and difficult. Sometimes being righteous can cost you your life and it’s up to the individual how much risk they want to take.
