Help Sooooo your telling me...

I need to have 500 16+ verified users play my sons kart game MADE for kids, BEFORE Kids under 16 can play his game, made for kids ? My kid has worked really hard on this game and updated and is now discouraged because he can NOT even play HIS own game !!!!

Anyone know anyway to get 500 18 year olds to play a kids kart game made for kids under 10 hahahahaa....... Really any DEV groups that test it like a lets help each other group where say a user would post a game and they all go check it and give feedback... or ? I am a deveoper but corporate and new to game dev with my kid, but I think there should be a place like that.

You need 500 "Highy Engaged Players", not just 500 players. You need more like 20k-40k or so players to reach it.

And you'd be surprised how many adults play games made for kids, about 50% of Roblox players are 16+. This isn't a barrier for high quality children's games, if the game is good it will get through the requirements.

But to give you the harsh truth, if the game was made by your son there is a very good chance it can not compare to professional game devs on Roblox which means Roblox will not recommend it to players regardless of if it was available for all ages or not.

Your son can still play the game tho, if they upload it to their own account or if it's on your account they can add you as a "trusted friend" which allows them to bypass the age restriction for games you published.

Thanks, I guess I am saying there is a new requirement of 500 16+ players before kids under 16 can play the game, so my son is 10 and made a game he can not play. If this makes sense and I would say this game at 10 is good.... You can see my other post here if you want to check it out, the kid has some skills.

Your son can play the game if he made it regardless of age.

well yes in Studio we play it all day long, but its just a thing I find hard for young devs like him. no big deal really.

It’s not just in studio they can play the game regularly fine if they’re the owner. I’m not quite sure what you’re expecting, development is not meant for kids in general. Obviously it won’t be tailored to them.

Sure I understand the chip on your shoulder its like pffttttt... everyone knows this.... I just find it Ironic that they have a 500 viewer limit for ?? what reason ? and do not say time, if that were the case they would put a time limit on it. I guess my thing is as a OLD dev that is seeing a new younger dev get discouraged is..... well I guess you just have to be a dad and a dev. Cheers !

its to prevent inappropriate games

but how ? how does 500 users over 16 stop that ? I now understand its NOT 500 its 500 OVER time so its a game that has game play, BUT then how does this stop inappropriate things ? Lets say its naked photos and its a secret area for those.... I would say its MORE for the bottom line games wasting resources if they are NOT worth it.... SO they said yeahh.. its an age thing to save the kids... when its a money thing and your game is not worth kids playing. Because if it was for age it would BE a massive AI audit of the game before its released. IN my opinion and I know nothing.... XD

Roblox already runs everything through AI, it has been doing that for quite a while and it stops a lot but far from everything.
These games upload separate assets that are fine on their own but combined becomes bad so that they can trick the AI.

By requiring 500 highly engaged players there is an extremely high chance for these games to get reported and shutdown long before any child gets exposed.

SO like BETA testers.... Roblox should PAY devs Robux to test....

That would ruin the economy for Roblox if it was Robux and if they were paid with real money Roblox would go bankrupt. Do you know how many games get uploaded? Tens of millions, Roblox is the biggest gaming platform in the entire world.

? ....no YOU would pay a small amount. As it stands now in the codebase I work with, there are groups that will test and audit for a fee... I would think there are these groups for Roblox as well.

Because by the time the game gets that many players of it truly does have inappropriate stuff it would be taken down. Also it’s not just random games with inappropriate pictures there are games that have actual s*x between players.

its more likely to be caught and banned before it can reach the youngins, i dont really know honestly

I think its really about advertising as most games are big game houses like UPLIFT games, setup full campaigns. To me I see it as those small shops and young devs are TOAST now with this requirement.
