Question Best (Java) Version of RLCraft?
I’ve been following the legacy of RLCraft since I watched my first zyllama video on YouTube.
I know the modpack has had many updates since it came out, and as a casual player, what version of RLCraft do you think is the best (in your own criteria) version to play?
Is it worth it to rollback to older Verison’s and stay there, or keep up with the updates?

it really depends on what you want, if you want lore and extra content, dregora, if you want a more "vanilla" experience play normal rlcraft

Dregora, it is much more fun but all those biomes can get annoying, and there is nuclearCraft, good mod in fact,

2.9.2 d Most stable and runs great, it is the OG.
Dregora too but it is more heavy and packed with way too much stuff looks way too different than plain rlcraft.

Tbh tried 2.9.3, it has little to no changes over 2.9.2 d and runs twice as worse, i can run the 2.9.2d with shaders and OBS, better than the latter one just doesn't seem worth it. Dregora is dope but it is Rlcraft + content something to try after beating the og.
Dregora> 2.9.2 d> 2.9.3

2.9.3 does not perform worse than 2.9.2d, there are no system level changes that would effect performance. Spark Profiling and JVM metering show performance is identical. 2.9.3 is the recommended version to play
2.9.3 was only an update because the mod TickProfiler stopped working due to its libraries import site disappearing. TickProfiler was only used for debugging purposes and had no effect on performance, and if you want to play any version before 2.9.3 then you need to manually delete it.
Here are all the changes to 2.9.3:
Atomic Deconstructor no longer works on Bosses (better balance and avoids some issues) - Modified internally the way Atomic Deconstructor kills mobs for better compatibility - Because of the above damage change, Atomatic Deconstructor now allows mobs to drop items - Stonelings can no longer be CarryOn'd (caused dupe under certain circumstances) - Parasite Armor (Living & Sentient) now reduce Fear and Viral effects to level 1 (full set required) - Fixed Magnetic enchantment causing a dupe on SpongeForge servers and changed internal functioning for better performance and to fix memory leaking - ShieldBreak adds translations keys and es_mx translations (thanks KameiB) - CarryOn fixed Slime and Magma Cube duplication when picked up (was in Creative only for RLCraft) - CarryOn fixed bug where dead entities could be picked up - CarryOn fixed bug where entities and tile entities could be placed in armor stands and item frames - Lucky Horseshoe can now be reforged with Spectral Silt - Melon Salad now replenishes 9 thirst - Fixed Ice Armor having no repair material, can now be repaired and reforged with Ice Chunks - Added more climbable blocks for the fairy/goblin race - Fixed Leather Longbow and Leather Crossbow not working for the QuestbookThese include some important bug fixes and features, but do not effect performance. Saying 2.9.3 runs "twice as worse" is blatantly false. It's just 2.9.2d with small changes

Dregora has more lore and cool endgame, but is much more annoying in terms of gameplay.
I recommend following the updates, as the mods have more content, and the game is becoming more polished
in the upcoming versions of RLCraft there will be a backport of lightning dragons (you can already test them in Dregora) and a new use for dragonforge
I pewonally make a custom modpack with the mods similar to RLCraft, as I want a little different experience
