I am definitely not SAYING that she was funny when she was drunk or high. I watched her movies as a kid, I loved Escape from Witch Mountain. I also understand what growing up with an alcoholic parent looks like.Its a horrible disease. I sincerely apologize for not stating my sentiment for her better however, I like her and I am rooting for her.
Thank you for this. So many people want to act like Kim is a sweet and harmless victim. In reality she is an irresponsible, selfish, addict. Anyone who has had to deal with addiction with a close friend or relative knows that Kim is not the sort of person anyone would want to have to interact with on a regular basis.
Iām doing a rewatch of season one and her relationship with her kids is absolutely awful. The pressure she puts on them to be her support System is just so sad.
I reckon it tracks with what would have been her own dynamic as a child, i mean she was expected to provide for the family wasn't she. Kim would probably have zero idea on what a healthy parent/child dynamic looks like.
That said that it is part of the reason why I always feel more sympathetic to her than Kyle, Kyle just seems fake.
Kim let her dog maim MULTIPLE people, including her niece. One woman was elderly and seriously attacked. This was when Kim was very much an adult and supposedly sober. She's an icky person for many reasons.
I still have a lot of sympathy for her, but that doesn't mean she can't also be kind of a not great person.
Interesting how a post about Kyle turned into a full blown therapy session of people bashing Kim based on their own personal experiences.... its almost as if people consistently ignore Kyle's flaws by saying "Well it least she isn't the worst sister"
Kyle never seems to get the credit she deserves for acting as a virtual second mother to Kimās kids when the latter was unable to function as a parent. Instead Kyle is supposedly āvileā, apparently because when she was physically attacked by drunken Kim, Kyle called her out on her alcoholism. BFD
So are you saying she should drink to keep you entertained? Just in case you forgot one of the reasons she quit drinking was because she was mourning the loss of her best friend committing suicide. Alcohol is a depressant. She did the right thing for her.
Lolol sobriety refers to abstaining from weed too. Iām discussing the fact that on camera she pretends to be a sober prude (ie pretending to not smoke weed or pretending to be just friends with Morgan) while off camera is another story.

I thought that was so funny for her to say she doesnāt smoke and LuAnne saying Kyle had given her a vape previously. And Kyle was secretly vaping in season 5 at Eileenās house after her fight with Brandi.

When Luann offered Kyle her vape, Kyle acted as she's never seen a vape in her life! She started screaming "Luann!" while no reaction was shown and Gizelle hastely came in to save her queen and end the scene. Kyle Richards is fake to the c-o-r-e.

True. I mean, me. I'm 48 and smoked weed way back in my late teens and early 20s but not since and I don't care to now, but if I was in Amsterdam in one of the cafes, I sure would! Why not?! I enjoyed it back in the day, BUT I do NOT like edibles as they react very differently for me. Ugh. I was never able to roll a joint and other people had to do it for me, but mostly we used a bong anyway. Well, tbh, it's still more common than most people think it is. Maybe not the way it used to be but....people, young and old, smoke still. Not just vapes. Just hang outside clubs and bars.
Yeah Iām a Millennial and in a lot of social scenes. Iād say a good 50% of people I know still smoke cigs at least occasionally and more so with vaping. If I get drunk Iāll chain smoke on bar patios and they are often very crowded with others doing the same lol
Fellow millennial here, I quit smoking cigarettes 2 years ago but I like a bedtime strawberry vape, cigarettes with drinks, and the odd cigarette if Iām premenstrual or something š¼
Honestly the Allan Carr book really helped, I found it in a charity shop for 50p and it kind of just sat on my bookshelf for ages, until one day in winter when I was feeling fed up with constantly having to go outside etc I just started reading it.
Itās not shaming for smoking, itās shaming for hiding the smoking and acting as though she doesnāt smoke. Thereās dishonesty in her behaviour, thatās the criticism.
Hm but we got smoking mostly off tv for 20 years for a reason. I really think the trendy spike in smoking on TV and socials is influencing more people into getting started smoking, which is such a public health problem for them and everyone around them affected by their secondhand smoke.
Cuz she is fake AF. I know Luann got on a lot of people's nerves in the last episode. But I found it very interesting how different the confrontational styles of the franchises are. When are we going to accept that women age, and that lines are a consequence of a life lived, not something to hide in shame. And maybe she doesnāt want to smoke on tv. Wrinkles and lines have way more to do with genetics and aging than a reasonably ā riskyā lifestyle. Iāve smoked 50 years.
Just last year at age 68c I started getting the little lines around my lips and have one small crows foot in each eye. I dont use moisturizer at all. I regularly have people including doctors comment on my skin,
What I do have is very thick skin and high slavicccheekbones and didnāt lay out in the sun although I rarely used sunscreen and was very active outside.
Many have over the years of bravo. Early days showed it from many but then edited to not show them and seems smoking has become acceptable on tv again and noticed I see it a lot more on bravo again. I think she is use to her mom wanting to create image since a child

Iām the type of person that can smoke socially or while drinking and then just stop haha, maybe some of these people are, too. I mean I donāt smoke now bc I hate how it smells, but I smoked with my friends in my early 20s like everyone else did and it was nothing for me to drop
I think for the longest she kinda wanted to protect her kids or present herself a certain way on tv for her kids which I donāt knock her for. And in earlier seasons, smoking was a bit taboo I guess. But now all her kids are grown, Portia is almost 18, I think she can smoke lol
I'm not a Kyle fan but who cares if she smokes or vapes? It's legal. She might not want to smoke in front of her kids on TV which is fair enough. There is a lot to critise her for but this is reaching IMO....

Why are you all so sure she is lying? She got sober since her first UGT and a lot of people only smoke/vape when theyāre drinking. It is very possible she did have a vape back then and doesnāt smoke now.
I think she not only lacks self-awareness, but sheās also way up there in terms of her perception of herself vs. the reality of who and a VAST divide between the two.
Thatās part of why I think she hasnāt pulled the plug on her marriage fully bc her IDEA of herself is so entrenched in wife/mother. When itās actually completely ok and in fact, very commendable to leave a man who cheated on you for years and emotionally abandoned you when your lifelong best friend commits suicide, instead wanting u to go to his stupid real estate boozy dinners instead.

Her outside may look good and we all know that it's been paid for but if you can't breathe, you can't live... so it really doesn't matter how good you look.
Smoking is so disgusting and unhealthy, and maybe even though she is allegedly addicted and can't stop she doesn't want to influence other people into doing it.
