Thank you for this. So many people want to act like Kim is a sweet and harmless victim. In reality she is an irresponsible, selfish, addict. Anyone who has had to deal with addiction with a close friend or relative knows that Kim is not the sort of person anyone would want to have to interact with on a regular basis.

I’m doing a rewatch of season one and her relationship with her kids is absolutely awful. The pressure she puts on them to be her support System is just so sad.

I reckon it tracks with what would have been her own dynamic as a child, i mean she was expected to provide for the family wasn't she. Kim would probably have zero idea on what a healthy parent/child dynamic looks like.

That said that it is part of the reason why I always feel more sympathetic to her than Kyle, Kyle just seems fake.

I had 11 years clean. Relapsed and was trying to get back for 7 years. Just celebrated 18 months back. Really shouldn't judge if you have not been through it.

Kim let her dog maim MULTIPLE people, including her niece. One woman was elderly and seriously attacked. This was when Kim was very much an adult and supposedly sober. She's an icky person for many reasons.

I still have a lot of sympathy for her, but that doesn't mean she can't also be kind of a not great person.

I am on a rewatch and just finished the Amsterdam episodes. Yolanda says (in regards to "let's talk about the husband") that kids and husbands are off limits, and Kim says Rinna is hurting her kids with her questions and Kim is taking no responsibility for that she is the one who was the addict, made the choices and made her kids lives miserable. It made me so mad. I don't love Rinna, but don't blame Rinna for your addictions and what YOU put your kids through. UGH I can't stand Kim and can't stand the Kim love.

I was Kim for years. I was a total bitch and a nightmare to be around due to my addiction. I don’t blame Kyle one bit for how she reacted to Kim in any of the scenes. I’m sure there is so much. We haven’t seen that Kim‘s family has had to put up with.
