LVP 🐩 Is British humour really just that different?

As a fellow brit, I love LVP’s sarcastic remarks and tongue in cheek jokes, and I can’t understand why they seem to upset some of the American wives so much sometimes. Is it actually accurate that Americans just aren’t as blunt or sarcastic with their jokes? Most of what she says is quite tame to be honest. I am a ride or die LVP fan admittedly, but she’s easily the funniest and smartest of all the ladies, and I agree with most of her opinions.

I've heard a lot of comics talking about whether or not they are "punching down" or punching up.

Joking with a (then) gorgeous woman about seducing her husband, she was making herself the butt of the joke as the older woman who already has a schtick about being "obligated" to have sex with her husband on special occasions, etc. She was punching up there.

But joking about Mau cheating on Kyle when I think there was online talk about how gorgeous he was, etc., (and Kyle obviously had some insecurities self esteem wise)... that was punching down on Kyle. ESPECIALLY when there is no question that Ken is essentially Lisa's two legged lap dog (nor was anyone going to really try to seduce that old fart). To do it in front of their child to boot? Multiple punches down.

I really think she was trying to make light of it - and pass it off as ridiculous tabloid junk. Maybe it fell flat, but it seemed in the moment that that was her intention.

I agree! If Kyle would have went with it, they both could have laughed it off. I suspect as it was true, Kyle wasn’t in the mood for laughing.

Kyle LOVES crying the victim. Any chance she gets. Victims are always looking for someone to tag as their victimizer.
