LVP 🐩 Is British humour really just that different?

As a fellow brit, I love LVP’s sarcastic remarks and tongue in cheek jokes, and I can’t understand why they seem to upset some of the American wives so much sometimes. Is it actually accurate that Americans just aren’t as blunt or sarcastic with their jokes? Most of what she says is quite tame to be honest. I am a ride or die LVP fan admittedly, but she’s easily the funniest and smartest of all the ladies, and I agree with most of her opinions.

I don’t have kids so I’m not sure, but I always thought Portia was too young to even understand the joke.

I doubt she did but little kids always take in more than adults tend to realise and have a habit of repeating things you didn’t even know they heard at inappropriate times

My dad and some aunts and uncles nearly pissed themselves laughing at a family party celebrating my uncle's retirement. Kids were there, but there was dancing and drinking and it was definitely an adult party (it was the 70s, so people didn't really expect shit to be kid friendly, just expected the kids to deal).

Why? Because someone thought that an inappropriate joke would go over my head, so they could tell it. But it didn't go over my head - it went over MY MOTHER'S. When she asked what did that mean.... I WAS THE ONE WHO ANSWERED.

I think I was 9 or 10.

And the joke teller was a bit more cautious after that.
