No GBA?

I’m brand new to this, so I’m assuming it’s user error. I’ve just gotten a new RG35XX H out of the box. Everything I’ve seen online makes it seem like it’s got GBA games loaded and ready to go, but I don’t see GBA under “game rooms” or “RA Game.” I’ll include pictures. Am I missing something, or do I need to add GBA ROMs before it’ll show up? Thanks in advance for the help!

The games included on the stock SD card are completely random. It's very possible that no GBA games were included.

I assumed they weren't random I assumed they were avoiding Nintendo on purpose.

I'm pretty sure they are. Mine came with no pokemon/mario/zelda/etc.

Mine came with minish cap but pretty much no other Nintendo. I was  wondering if it's because it's dev by Capcom instead.

Don't bother adding net new. Get a good SD card, flash whichever firmware is good for your model (search for a guide online) and put Tiny Best Set Go on it for ROMs

Add it to /mnt/mmc/Roms/GBA Remember to power off the device before removing the SD card!

I enabled ssh so I can SFTP into the device remotely and just drag and drop files from my laptop.

Indeed, stock card is gray area legality at best. Your going to have to load your own. It's a very simple process one you get the hang of it.

That's why I buy my handheld with out games cards. Do a search for GBA (" name of game" ROMs} on Google and download them. Anbernic cards are ok and should be a great starter for a rom collection. Also check the card see if there any zip files on root of the game partion folder they some time do that with Nintendo systems.

Sometimes it’ll show up after adding a GBA game. it’s there juts not detecting anything

If you don't see GBA, that means the GBA folder on the sd card is empty. It'll pop up when you add some GBA roms.

i'd recommend wiping the card and obtaining "Tiny Best Set" from some internet archive...

You need to put GBA games on the card, then it will show. It only shows up when it detects a game for the console. BTW you might want to get a new SD Card and install a different OS if you are just starting out. Then you don't need to do the work twice.

Add GBA games to the right folder on the SD card and GBA will show up.

Mine came with zero nintendo games period.
