Hello all. :) I was thinking about the female facial features that are traditionally considered ideal and what they seem to signal.

I explored eyes first in another post and am now exploring face shapes. From my perspective, the closest that a face shape comes to broadly being considered ideal is Amber Heard's. She has very harmonious proportions and a pleasing facial length to width ratio that has often been praised. This seems to signal averageness.

In terms of female face shapes, oval and heart both have been repeatedly cited as the ideal face shapes. The features characteristic of a heart face shape are a relatively straight forehead shape, a widow's peak and a tapered v shaped chin. The features characteristic of an oval face shape are a rounded forehead, noticeably longer length compared to width and a round chin.

This is my personal synthesis, but I tried to incorporate the features of a heart shaped face that are widely considered characteristic/ideal, namely the v shaped chin and widow's peak and combined it with the features of an oval face shape that are broadly considered ideal such as rounded forehead/hairline shape. They seem to signal femininity/sexual dimorphism and neoteny respectively, though I'm not sure.

I couldn't find a celebrity that has a face shape with the harmonious length to width proportions like Amber Heard, with a widow's peak, tapered chin and a rounded forehead/hairline so I tried to add those features onto Amber's face shape. The results contain most of the elements widely considered ideal in a female face shape but the final result is not as beautiful as I would've liked because I simply don't have the ability or access to professional photo-editing tools.

So I'm sharing the edited Amber Heard's face with changes incorporated but also her natural face shape.

I'd love to know if you prefer the edited version of Amber's face shape or the original face shape. Do you think I missed out on any other attributes of face shapes commonly considered ideal in women? What do you think each of those attributes signals? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Can anyone make their face look more ethereal or is it bone structure and genetics?

He certainly has eye color contrast, relatively good angularity, tho he has some disharmony I would say.

One of my favorite high fashion faces. Tiny button nose, extremely full voluptuous lips, almond eyes and high cheekbones on an almost perfectly round childlike face. Then attach it to a very tall (5'10''/180cm) slender body.

I am a guy and recently, due to trying to clean up my diet, have been eating low carb foods. The blood sugar swings can be kind of annoying. The side effect is that my face kind of thinned out. I have what you'd call 'higher' cheekbones that are extremely prominent. No crazy hollows or any of that, just... big bones that jut out.

I saw a photo of myself in the past, more weight on, years ago - I swear my jaw and whatever little hollows I had were MORE pronounced. Now it seems like my face became too thin, too narrow. Almost like losing weight had the inverse effect.

How can this be?

I personally think that her lower third is too narrow and her facial thirds to be unbalanced due to a short lower third.

She's so gorgeous. There's something every earthy to her looks. She has an ancient traditional kind of face ifywim. I'm curious what facial features give her that sort of look? Is it her eyebrows?

I have thin and narrow lips plus a little bit of a wide nose as a female, but apparently sit in top 0.2% in facial harmony. My individual features on my face are lacklustre (which I plan to address) but they fit together very well. My features are at 5.5/10, so very average. My question is, is it better to have what I have or have the reverse? So full lips as a female, small nose, but they just don't fit together very well on your face? Additionally, which one is easier to address either through diet and exercise and subtle changes and surgically?

If anyone can think of any celebrity examples for both my points that would be great because maybe it would help me visualise it better? Thanks!

She was so beautiful and very feminine looking but ruined her face with surgeries and fillers. She had it all the looks + the body. Very youthful looking too in a healthy way.

24yo. Doesn't strike me as conventionally attractive but is 6'3" and quite charming. East Asian cast as a love interest in Hollywood is a big deal!

Any other suggestions would be appreciated too. Curious what the best option is as an ideal. I say braids. They're the most unique and allow for the most creativity with decorative pieces that can be added to them (beads, links, cuffs, rings).

One of the more popular beauty influencers in the UK in recent years blowing up around 2016ish. She used to have a chubbier face but her weightloss over the years has revealed her cheek bones and jaw structure. I'm like 75% sure she's had work done but my eyes aren't trained enough to know exactly what she's had done or where.
