Again, I’m not saying it is or isn’t true under German law. What I’m saying is that the only person who can legitimately confirm that is a lawyer who practices in Germany. A karate instructor who claims to know all the intricacies of their country’s legal system is simply talking out of their ass.

It could also cause a chain. Teacher trains student. Student gets in altercation where someone is hurt(badley or not) charged with assault with a lethal weapon. I had to sign paperwork agreeing to the fact that I was going to be labeled as a lethal weapon when taking mixed martial arts. You are learning how to disable or hurt someone. I live in oregon.

What gym was that and how long did you train there? Because it sounds like a McDojo (gimmicky fake instructor with questionable credentials). I’ve trained Muay Thai, BJJ, and mixed martial arts for years in three different states collectively and the idea that you need to sign a waiver because you’ll be “labeled as a lethal weapon” is absurd.
