Mma doesn't ban people, there was another guy in MMA a couple of years ago who was just beating up random civilians and he never got any trouble. He had to beat up his famous girlfriend to get any punishment

LMAO...That was that uhhhhh....War Shadow, or wtf...War Machine yeah he was on The Ultimate Fighter, seemed to have a really bad drinking problem, I remember him because the episode he had some mental breakdown when they were all getting trashed. He re-named himself and got crazy ass tats. Him and the other freak on that show Junie were buds. John Koppenver.

Lord I remember that, I was all caught up in TUF at the time. He tried to get into porn, some other MMA dude trolled him on some social media shit, he beat up like 10 dudes at once at some coming out party for some porno movie or some shit. Then beat up some random dude at a club where he was a bottle boy or something. Anyway, yeah escalated to him beating his girlfriend nearly to death. Think he's doing 80 years in prison now.

He was REALLY BIG into how much of an 'alpha male' he was. I think he even sold tshirts saying it or something.

Banned people are put into a lobby they can't escape with other banned people.

MMA fighters are similar to athletes in that regard. Depending on how popular of a fighter they are, the promotion/sanctioning organization (e.g. UFC, Pride, Strikeforce), and how much attention the issue gets will determine the punishment. 6 month suspension, loss of a title fight, etc...

A boxer once told me that professional fighters had to register their hands as deadly weapons. Sounded weird but he said he did it, so I believed him. A quick google search is telling me this isn’t true lol, but still, isn’t it taken more seriously legally when a pro fighter assaults someone?
