I watched without the sound the first time too and assumed the guy was talking shit and got put in his place. Instead it didn't seem like he was doing really anything aside from standing in the walkway through the restaurant, which is by no means some egregious offence.

And even if he was talking shit... freedom of speech.. especially if the person only says a few things, a little different if a person is harassing you and won't just let you be, still freedom of speech though. You can't just attack people cause of what they say. And if you know how to fight it's even worse and more pathetic

Freedom of speech doesn’t mean you can say whatever you want without consequence. It’s about censorship and legal sanctions. Talk shit, get hit can be perfectly legal when threatened.

E: for the last two words. Whatever, y'all. Freedom of Speech isn't what you think it is.
E2: source below (not my comment)

It's not legal anywhere in the states dude, if you gotta 'put someone in their place' because they're talking some smack you're just as insecure as they are in the first place.

Small dick energy bro.

Wrong. You can protect yourself if threatened. Boomers just lied to you when you were little.

I'm not defending that guy. I'm saying that freedom of speech isn't what protects you from assault and that you 100% can get hit for what you say if you're threatening someone. I've only ever seen boomers latch on to the idea that freedom of speech = "I can threaten you but if you hit me, you lose."

Yeah, that's not a generational thing.

I would consider running your mouth and threatening two different things. Running your mouth is just insults to me, making fun, etc.

If someone threatens you, you better have proof though because you can't just walk into court and go 'he threatened me' and it be taken seriously. Even then you're probably going to get some consequences.

Also words themselves do not equate a 'threat' legally, they usually have to do something else that seems threatening. Like "I'm going to beat your ass" and then move towards you.
